General Watered down 10mm loads is what's holding back the caliber from being more popular and more guns being made for it.
Most 10mm ammo sold is loaded to old fbi spec that is basically 40s&w that cost alot more. Alot of people really do think that 10mm dosnt do much more damage than 9mm,40 and 45 acp because of this. Most of 10mm including hollow points I've found at bass pro and most other gun stores is claiming to sling a 180 grain round at only about 1000 to about 1100 fps. When properly loaded ammo should be 1200 -1300 fps +.
Ive seen many big gun youtubers ignorant to this also. Ive seen penetration test videos where 9mm FMJ has out penetrated 10mm FMJ Or the 9mm hollowpoint almost does almost as much damage as a 10mm hollow point because it was watered down. Alot of young people getting into guns see these videos and think why would they want something that cost more and dosnt perform much better.
10mm ammo should be loaded near 357 mag levels or it kind of defeats the purpose all together IMO.
