These markets didn’t even come down for any real reason - just the idea that maybe AI capex will decrease.

Korean Warren Buffet is probably out there with 600% margin on 3x leveraged ETFs buying the dip while the Korean stock market is in free fall.

This tells a story about the US too which is what many people are missing. We’ve reached the highest level of leverage used in the stock market in history in the US. Typically right when levels of leverage peak is also right before a crash.

34% of the S&P is in 10 companies, all of which are making the same directional bet on AI.

We’re seeing high levels of speculation. Everyone is betting AI spending will persist. Any fear around AI spending causes stocks to plunge even if it’s irrational.

My guess is if AI capex doesn’t end up meeting expectations or people become scared it won’t, eventually we will also see a big slide in the US market. And then worse, we’ll see margin calls and forced selling. Just like Korea that’ll trigger more selling causing us to end up in a cycle of forced selling, leading to a big plummet in stock prices.

The end result is bad for everyone invested right now.

Why are virgins considered a reward? Isn’t their status as virgins short-lived? Is there a similar reward for females? Are these real women who died as virgins, or are they newly created virgins for the after-life?

I’m a full-time wheelchair user. I’ve lived in London 14 years. Being unable to get on a bus due to there being buggies in the wheelchair priority space happens to me on a weekly basis (a conservative estimate).

I understand that many buggies these days don’t fold, and it is difficult to travel with children. I sympathise. However, wheelchair users still have priority, for these reasons:
1) There are many more buggies than wheelchairs. Statistically, it is likely the next bus will also have a buggy. If I didn’t have priority and always had to wait for a bus without a buggy, I would regularly be waiting for the 3rd, 4th, 5th bus, making bus travel totally unfeasible.
2) I use a wheelchair full time, and will do so for my whole life. So I obviously get buses in a wheelchair 100% of the time. Parents will only be travelling with buggies for a short period of their lives.
3) Buggies should be folded! Wheelchairs cannot be.
4) Wheelchair users have extremely limited alternatives for travel (the nearest step free Tube station is miles away).
5) The only reason the space exists in the first place is because disabled activists campaigned successfully for a change in bus design. We fought for our right to use buses.

I always try to keep calm in these scenarios and be polite and gentle, but this man was so awful (and couldn’t be reasoned with) that I swore at him. It’s exhausting having to constantly battle just to go about daily life.

Please, if you travel with a buggy and a wheelchair user needs to board, fold it or vacate the space.

I think about this all the time. There is nothing more frustrating than watching a movie with a concept so good it gives you chills, only for the actual plot to turn into generic, predictable garbage halfway through.

The most infamous one for me is In Time. The idea that time is literal currency and people stop aging at 25 is brilliant sci-fi. But instead of doing something mind-blowing with it, they just turned it into a painfully average Bonnie and Clyde bank robber action movie.

The Purge is another massive one. You have a night where all crime is legal, and instead of showing us the insane psychological breakdown of society, the first movie just gave us a standard, boring home invasion thriller.

What movie made you furious because the core idea was genius but the writers completely wasted it?

My cat does this several times a day. If the automatic feeder lifts at the correct angle, a few niblets of dry food comes out. He will even do it 10 times in a row even if it means one small piece of dry niblet comes out. It does get quite annoying as the sound of the feeder hitting the ground echoes throughout the entire house.

Any ideas on how to get him to stop?

New account since my daughter does know my other account.

When my daughter was in school, she became friends with a girl named Kelly. They stayed close through college, and my daughter was even one of Kelly’s bridesmaids when she got married.

To explain where my daughter’s behavior came from, my ex-husband cheated on me repeatedly, and our marriage ended horribly. My daughter doesn’t speak to her father anymore, and she absolutely despises cheating.

About seven years ago, my daughter became convinced that Kelly was cheating on her husband. She started harassing Kelly online and essentially blew up her life. By the time my daughter found out that the man she had seen Kelly with was actually a relative ( they were at a fancy restaurant together) it was too late. Kelly’s marriage had already fallen apart, and because we live in a very religious community, she was ostracized by many people.

They had a huge falling out, and it basically came down to my daughter ruining Kelly’s life. Kelly blocked her on everything and eventually moved away. Kelly hated my daughter after that, and so did her mother. I still run into Kelly’s mother occasionally, and she has made her feelings about my daughter very clear.

The issue is that Kelly recently passed away. My daughter found out through a Facebook post, and the funeral is this weekend, two states away.

My daughter was planning to attend the funeral, and I told her that I thought it was a terrible idea. She said she needed to go, and I told her again that she shouldn’t. We got into an argument, and she said she had every right to mourn her friend and attend the funeral.

I told her that she really didn’t have the right to mourn Kelly or go to the funeral because Kelly hated her after everything that happened, and because my daughter had destroyed her life.

She hasn’t spoken to me since. Now I’m wondering if I should warn Kelly’s family that my daughter might show up at the funeral. Or that I might be in the wrong here?

1 year old pulled out the bucket of Mexican honey I have and it opened and spilled on my floor. And while I'm trying to document this my 3 year old comes over with 'red' down his leg and I have no idea how he got hurt but he seems fine at least. Crazy morning, anyways let me figure out how to remove a years worth of honey from my floor

EDIT: all cleaned up, thank you everyone for the advice and the funny comments, it took maybe 30 minutes of scraping it into a cardboard box with a putty spatula or paint scraper. Then just sponged it with warm soapy water.

Also to address some things, my cottage cheese and yogurt are safely in the refrigerator, those are just empty containers I keep around for leftovers and salsas I make

And to those making dumb comments about taking a picture and making a post about it before cleaning: I'm not sure how much time you think making a post takes. Also letting it sit there for an additional minute or two didnt really do anything, honey spreads super fast initially and then it spreads about as fast as molasses once it's a little flatter. It wasn't about to get up and run into my living room lol
