More AI slop with bot comments. I think this title and thumbnail illustrate how AI can get human engagement simply by creating absurd sentences. I also think it’s funny when bots try to sound compassionate.

But seriously, is anyone benefitting from this? I want to understand why YouTube is heading in this direction, and why they don’t seem to be trying to fix this.

I personally love Fern and I’m actually kinda chill that it is just being invested in (but I seriously hope that they just don’t rush in their videos as to satisfy the revenue side of their PE firm and lose quality in the process) and they also explained some the channels I watch as their Inspiration for Fern like Lemmino and Neo who also make similar content

Not only are they a caricature, cringe versions of their old honest selves, you also can’t watch it for more than 60 seconds without an advert/sponsor being pushed down your throat. That, and the supporting cast now has some unbelievably cringe members who are constantly appearing in the videos.

youtube should put a disclaimer on all of this content so that people can avoid !!

After all these years, after all my unsubscribing, after the many many many changes YouTube has gone through….even after Filthy Frank stopped posting all together. Filthy Frank and Vsauce have still remained in my subscription box, longer than any other channels

Because that's what the home tab is for. When I go to my subscriptions, I want to see all my subbed channels in chronological order, not some random pick of videos. Seriously who approved this.

As of today, any account based in Florida that is under the age of 14 will be moved down to Youtube Kids, stay signed out from regular youtube, and have their channels be invisible to others. Any account between ages 14-15 would be banned as well unless you ask your parent to link your account to their account. Any user above the age of 16 is not impacted.

Any accounts impacted which had a premium subscription before today might now be a waste of money and you should ask for refunds. Any accounts who haven't backed up their data will now be stuck in regular youtube with ads and no control. Those who have backed up their data can now use alternatives like FreeTube.

This post is not to promote or advertise any alternatives for YouTube. Rather, it is meant as a reminder for Florida-based accounts.

Recently, YouTube has been rolling out 90+ second unskippable ads on TVs, while ads on tablets/phones/computers are 10 seconds or even less.

I don't get any 90+ second unskippable ads on my TV, but most of my YouTube TV ads are 60 second unskippable ads.

Hey all, I’m a big fan of Youtube and watch hundreds of videos in English, but I feel like my algorithm has started to keep me from watching refreshing content, so can you recommend any videos or channels that you love watching? I’m OK with anything really and am interested in what you like watching!

It’s apparently a part of a deal with Lionsgate or something idk the details, take my info with a grain of salt.

I can’t be the only one who noticed the ad when you open the comments while full screened on a video. So not only do we gotta see ads in the recommended,watch history, multiple times in a video, sponserships, and banners in the video but now we can’t even comment without getting an ad. We really need an alternative from YouTube cause this is just ridiculous now.

Youtube recently removed the ability to dislike shorts but i found a way to do it (sorry if its common knowledge). All you need to is like the short, go to the liked videos list and open it from there. It will open as a regular video so you will be able to dislike it. The method is a bit of a hassle so it's probably reserved for things you really don't like. Anyways its a possibility.

Anyone know what happened? this channel was active until a day or so ago, had a patreon and stuff, and now it's all vanished.

I’m posting vídeos on my channel with the webcam, I just sit and laugh and I get no views. I say stuff I try to be educacional but I get no views. I see other people doing the same and getting views and I have none.
I’m thinking of creating those videos for someone in 100 years watch and know about me…

I started using playlist again not too long ago and when I use it I make them private, more like an archive for myself about what videos I've watched(and yes my history is still there but this just feels more organized)

But in the past I could easily add a video to multiple playlists. Now however whenever you put a video in a playlist via the video itself it closes the menu, then you have to click again and add it for every playlist you want said video to be in.

Also with how they are messing up the UI(What they did to the view made me literally pause) the playlist button is in the three dots since they removed it all

Around 10 to 15 years ago, in the early days of YouTube. There was one channel I used to watch all the time, but I can't remember what its called. It was basically just some Mexican dude who made home videos, but he played this one character he called "Monica" (idk if its spelled like that or with a K or 2 Ks, I don't remember!). This character he played was basically just a dumb stupid woman. He would wear a raggedy black wig, black lipstick, and smack his lips really hard while he was talking like a sassy Mexican girl. Looking back, those videos are soo dumb, but in middle school they were fuckin' hilarious. It popped in my head today and I'm beating myself up because I can't remember the channel name :(

I know that it such a vague description, but I have been Googling and asking AI's to try and help me find this old channel or any of the old videos, but am getting nowhere!!

(Also, I could be totally wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure Shane Dawson either shouted him out once or did a collab with him, that might've been how I found out about Monica.)
