Question Is Waterloo College Hall fun?

I just got put in Waterloo College Hall for first year res and I wanna know what the vibe is like.

I’m very social and love partying, meeting new people and a general loud social life. Will I enjoy this res based on that?

Question Took summer school to raise a low grade but I might still be cooked

During the school year my calc mark dropped really low (below the conditional) because of extremely poor mental health so I took it in the summer to make up for it, filled in the form and everything.

I got my grade back and it was over 10% higher than the conditional so I was happy.

Then I found out for BBA-related programs, they take the average of two courses taken and thats what they use instead of the higher grade. Because the calc grade I got first was so bad, it ultimately dropped the average of the two and I missed my conditional because of it, even if the second one was well-above.

Is there anything I can do? Would proof of a doctor’s note and medical records do anything here or do I just give it up and take a gap year.

hey there! has anyone been notified about getting into an RLC yet? I got my residence email but it said nothing about the RLC I applied for. I assume I just didn’t get in, but thought I’d ask. thanks!

EDIT: I got in! Email came the day after I got my room assignment, hope this helps someone else frantically googling this time next year haha. If anyone else is in the Film and Media RLC this year or is a film major and wants to connect feel free to DM me!

Question Marshall Street Res

Hey!! I just got my residency placement today! I was hoping to see if I could find my future roommate for the upcoming, 2026 fall term. In September, i’ll be living in the “Marshall St. Apartments” on floor 6C!

Even if you aren’t on the same floor or in the same dorm, but you are in the same building, I’m still open to making new friends and getting to know one another prior to the move in day!

If you see this and you personally aren’t living there but you know someone who is and is also looking to find acquaintances or friends, let them know that you found someone (aka me lol).

Don’t be shy! Hit my line 😉!!!

internship

Hey everyone.

I’m doing my first internship this summer and i finish in about a month. I work in corporate finance and i feel most of the time everyone is too busy for me and it makes me think sometimes no one likes me or believes in me. I’m the only intern working alongside managers and a couple analysts. I feel annoying reaching out every day asking if they need help. I’m just really insecure in the workplace. I am not the greatest at small talk but i try, but 99% of the time they aren’t great at keeping the conversations either.

I feel like i am clouded with self doubt and insecurity and I just assume their tone means something bad.

Am i wrong for feeling this way, is this normal for interns. I thought being in a small group enhances connection but i barely feel connected to everyone. But i also think it might be because everyone’s just super busy all the time.

Anyway, any advice would help. Thank you

As an incoming first what should I expect from conrad residence.

I heard it doesn’t have ac, an elevator and my specific accommodation has communal bathrooms. All that being said it is close to the athletic centre

Question Is there a way to connect with your roommates before move-in day for apartment-style res?

Hey everyone! Incoming first-year here. I just got my residence assignment for an apartment-style unit, but the residence email only shows my building and room placement—it doesn't list who my roommates are. Is there any official way Laurier gives us to get in touch with our unit/roommates beforehand?

Question Residence - twin beds

Upvotes

I have read some people saying to get a twin mattress topper and sheets and others saying twin XL. Which one is it? (Obviously not for any residences with double beds or for taller guys who got the long beds)

Waterloo College Hall Res

Hi! I just got the college hall res just a few questions if anyone could answer ik they are probably silly but better safe than sorry 😭

- can you raise the bed (like just to fit a tiny bit more in storage under there)

- how’s sharing the bathroom work? (are we able to leave stuff in there, should I bring toilet paper, etc)

- are we able to bring our own desk chairs and how would that work? Like where do we give the other chair

- any specific things anyone would recommend?

Thank u!!
