Coming over from Hamilton and hoping for some local intel. I'm looking for a restaurant or bar in the Brantford area that works well for small (2-4 person) work meeting/dinner -- think low-key for coursework/planning sessions with members of my team.

Main asks: quiet enough to hold a conversation without straining, and enough table space for a laptop. I have ADHD, so loud music or noisy rooms make it really hard for me to focus, and I also struggle to hear people in loud spaces. A calm spot with some elbow room would be ideal. The meeting would be later in the evening (5pm or later).

Not sure why this irks me so much - Mayoral candidate Rose Sicoli recently posted a sensational video talking about a paramedic station closing.
She provides zero details on why it is closing and made blanket statements that aren't supported by any facts.

I don't have strong feelings about any of the candidates - but the way the info is presented in this video is really not something I would expect or want from a mayor. Melodramatic, lacking in any fact or detail and blanket statements that aren't backed by real info and are intended to strike fear in people. It's ridiculous.

Based on about five minutes of research, it seems like the current facility is too small and there has been a plan for several years to move to a larger updated facility that also happens to be located in a large industrial area. So....is she against the new building? Does she think we should operate both sites? Who knows...she doesn't say!

I was travelling in a bus (route 4A) from mall to dunsdon st a woman who also boarded the bus moments before me turned on the camera to record me as the bus was full I had to go sit on the last seat and she as right in front of me. Then she switched her seats with a lady so that she could face me and was secretly recording me the entire time. When the woman asked why she wants to switch the seats then she made some racial comments and continued recording. I plugged in my earphones and stopped looking at her and was minding my business she got down at dunsdon street at buchanan cres stop and she was stole recording me even while getting out of the bus. I’m here to ask you guys what should I do about this? at that time i felt not reacting to it would be the best thing since people with their cameras on have an urge to defame a community for fun. For your very kind information I have never met that lady before in my life, I have no clue who tf is she.

We are a family of 4 looking to move to Brantford. We are a visible minority and I am just wondering what level of racism we will face. From a scale of dirty glances to slurs being shouted our way. Have seen all ends of the spectrum in our current town and would like to know what we are getting into before moving!

We are looking for community so obviously don't want somewhere where we feel unwelcome or are fearing for our safety everytime we step outside. We are friendly and love to make conversation right off the bat but unfortunately it is not always reciprocated!

I have known George my entire life, he's known both of my parents for a very, very long time. Around when he was talking serious about selling the palace I moved from the city and now I'm back. I hear horrible things about the Palace since he sold it and I'm just curious if anyone knows how he's doing. I hope he is happy and well! He always called me princess and I was always so excited to go see George as a kid.
