We're sellin' it by the skid now!!! 😳🤣

I was coached/written up today for the first time ever in my 10+ years at Walmart. My store manager got angry because no one vizpicked the produce bins. During the coaching, the team lead said that the store manager said it was my responsibility to scan those bins because I come in 7am-4pm. For context, there were three 4-1 associates there and an associate that came in at 8am. But the store manager decided that it was solely my responsibility if I’m gonna work 7-4. This hadn’t been articulated to me at any point prior to the coaching. The lead said that 4-1 people have the truck to worry about. I said, fine, what about the 8-5 person? She had no answer. I firmly believe this is a targeted hit by the SM because of my AES survey but I can’t prove that. I want to go to home office with this issue because I don’t trust my store “leadership” or market.

I stocked the cranberry one and had to move the other one to the side last night.

Basically the title. Totally get it,but it's annoying. There's 3 of us that work the meat department, myself and my coworker on the morning and some dickweed in the afternoon.

Let me clarify, dickhead USED to have my position but got caught drinking at work and got fired. He's back.

Apparently the market manager had stopped by and checked all our tallcarts and found a bunch of out of date stuff. Totally fair, except the afternoon guy who never combs the wall or carts or changes the RPCs or works the vizpik (he likes to pick them out mid shift and leave them for us in the morning) threw us in the morning under the bus. Apparently we should be catching everything. I've learned he complains about it but never pulls the product, that's somehow our job.

Again, I totally grasp that pulling outs is everyone's job, but when you don't even do half the job we do, how the fuck are you gonna complain?

Today, because I swear to God I'd better never hear about it again, I took half an hour to check every single product on the tall carts and the wall. Every. Single. One. I got an entire cart filled with outs after the guys shift. The same one who complained and got all of us coached mind you.

What's frustrating is that they pulled me to the back and explained "this guy is a hawk, he never misses it and he's taken issue with you and coworker not handling all the outs."

I immediately said I disagreed and could prove he sucks, and even tried to show them, but apparently that wasn't the topic. I did notice once I said "I can show you an entire box of outs right now he missed, no clue why he isn't getting coached as well" that it shifted from "you" to "all of us in fresh" so that was nice but like.

If shit rolls downhill why do I have to ensure it spreads? I do the freight, the coworker I work with works Backstock, and between both of us she has CVP done by 7 and vizpik all labeled by 9 and ready to scan and pick. Both of us are incredibly anal about what we do but are both human.

Is anyone whose store is going through Operation Cold Front, where the whole frozen department is getting remodeled, getting tired of the process? When I come in, the overnight and team leads in charge are not finishing 4 to 7 doors. They take all of the items out, put them in the freezer, then leave them back there. I have to clean up other old freight they're not working on at night because it's so behind. I can't even pick until late in the day. I'm working so much freight they're not touching. I can't even put back all of the items they take out, and then they're not stocking the shelves with the freight. So I have customers mad and cursing me out about the missing door items, the fact that the items moved, and half the items are not on shelves. Right now, without my team lead, it's just me in frozen in one of the top preformingstore in country, so getting any more than two pallets a day, plus dealing with Spark and customers, is cutting into the usual 4 pallets I could work, plus my picks.

Any advice on getting through this?

“You’re either gonna have to get a lot of cuffs or you’re gonna need to be more specific.”

I work at the service desk. Today I called out because I’ve been exhausted after a couple of busy days and not sleeping well. I don’t call out often, but today I woke up feeling completely drained and didn’t think I could be at my best dealing with customers all day.

The thing I’m struggling with is that I’m the only opener at the service desk, and on Wednesday’s I’m the only one scheduled at all until 2 p.m. I followed the call-out procedure, so it’s not a no-call/no-show, and even after today I’d only have 1.5 attendance points, which is still well below the limit.

I just feel really guilty because I don’t like inconveniencing people. At the same time, I also feel like it isn’t really my responsibility that there’s only one person trained and scheduled to open such an important area.

Has anyone else worked in a department where there was only one opener? Am I just overthinking, or is this just a staffing issue that management has to plan for?

This is how I started my 12 hour shift, I was running on 3 hours of sleep, yesterday’s coffee, and Concerta and the gods decided I needed this to start my week.

Walked into work this morning to find out the coaches had gotten together and decided that earbuds aren't allowed on the front end anymore. Even as a front end associate, I don't think they should have been allowed in the first place, but I'm curious now as to how many associates are going to tell the FE coach they can't overrule corporate policy...

Anyone else stored getting killed with freight the past 3 weeks it's been insane. Normally we can finish truck but jesus we have not been able to lately and it's mostly been consumables.

I can understand why Walmart is switching to spark drivers to do more shopping. I don't know if I have a unicorn driver but they're communicative, and honestly much better than trusting a store employee pressured by metrics. I heard all the whining. I didn't want to order.

But my kids are sick, I'm the only adult home, and I am not about to pay doordash prices or haul sick kids to the store. Is the fact this driver is amazing an outlier? Or are most of them decent from customer POV?

I mean i did tip 40% (ordered from a store other than the closest one).

Title says it all. 10 years with this company I finally had enough and quit, no stress im finally free.

Thank you everyone for the love on my last post regarding my stacks. My managers allow me to take the pictures but I draw around it to block out any of my warehouse to just make sure I’ll be fine. 100% of our trips go into the wrap machine before being loaded so that will answer some questions. Our managers motto is “as long as it makes it to the truck” so majority of my coworkers trips are what you probably see on a daily basis. Like I said, I sit comfortably at a 180% till lunch then let it fall to a 160% after so I can get more hours while getting max incentive pay. I’ve been with the company between 1-2 years and this is my first job doing anything like this but I love it. Regardless of the hell I catch in my warehouse from coworkers & managers telling me to not focus on my stack so much so I can have 200%+ all day (for no reason whatsoever) I will continue perfecting my craft. I’d like to leave a huge shoutout to Tim Reviews Everything on YouTube because his warehouse series helped me so much at the beginning + his discord. I work on overnights and have been for several years. But I really want to do something like cap 1 or morning shift. If I change to mornings, will I get 2 days off in a row and get 40 hours on mornings ?? I heard that on day shift a lot of people don’t have set start and end times of their shifts. At my store mostly the part time workers have their start/end times and days off all over the place. I have autism so following a strict daily routine is extremely important to me and my outside personal life . Will I get 40 hours if I close my availability to only work mornings and get 2 days off in a row ?

My days off were Monday and Thursday. but a part of me wants to do something different..

so i had orientation on monday and was supposed to go in the next day to finish the computer training but i wasnt able to make it due to parents being gone and having to watch my baby sister. i didnt think this was a big deal as when she asked all of us if we could come back in the next day one of the people we were with said they couldn't and she didnt seemed bothered and told her to come in on thursday. i texted her 3 times since and haven't gotten a response. the first time i gave her a heads up that i might be late and the next day my mom had told me she didnt think they'd make it back in time period so i texted her AGAIN asking if i can come in another day this week to finish everything up, still no response. fast forward to today still no response, so i texted her again asking if i can come in tomorrow. i know people are busy but i feel like i should've gotten a response by now? idk if im being paranoid but i really really need this job as im literally having a baby in september and cant work for much longer anyways so i wanted to start working as soon as i can before taking my leave. My mom says i should call her bc it'll show i care but it's her personal number and i don't wanna feel like im overstepping, especially if she is really that busy. i'm thinking of just going in there tomorrow since another girl is going too to finish her training and i feel like that'll also show i care but im really stuck on what i should do. Do i call her? Do i just show up? i'm really not sure what to do at this point.

I completed my online training this Monday, but I’m not sure when I’ll actually be called in for work, they haven't given me any updates. I was just wondering what the average wait time is before new employees start receiving shifts.

I do have a shift scheduled in August, but I thought it was a bit unusual that I wouldn’t be starting for another two weeks. I just wanted to check if that’s normal or if I can expect to be scheduled for any shifts before then.

I work at a different store than this Walmart, but dude barricaded himself in the parking lot for 15 hours😭 I first saw it at 11pm on my way to get food.

Best advice you'll be given for your tenure at Walmart is DO NOT I REPEAT SO NOT show them that you are a hard worker because they will 100% take advantage of that while their friends/favorites stay picking their ass for 8 hours.. do enough to where they can't say you're not working but do not go above and beyond thinking it'll get you in their good graces cuz it won't.

Any interview tips for Direct Store Delivery + OMNI?

I’ll have school three days a week starting in September, but I can work after 4 p.m. on two of those days and have open availability otherwise.

I also cant work overnights.

Will these hurt my chances? Also Im 19, if that matters.
