I work on overnights and have been for several years. But I really want to do something like cap 1 or morning shift. If I change to mornings, will I get 2 days off in a row and get 40 hours on mornings ?? I heard that on day shift a lot of people don’t have set start and end times of their shifts. At my store mostly the part time workers have their start/end times and days off all over the place. I have autism so following a strict daily routine is extremely important to me and my outside personal life . Will I get 40 hours if I close my availability to only work mornings and get 2 days off in a row ?

My days off were Monday and Thursday. but a part of me wants to do something different..

I’m a stocking associate and our team has been finishing really early lately with our vizpicking (partly because of a low score I think) and working our carts. By the last 2 hours of our shift we often have little to nothing to do since all of the sections have been worked so my team lead has been having us work items that haven’t even been given vizpick labels yet. I’m fairly new and he started like a week or two ago after our old team lead left but from what I’ve heard from other associates this isn’t normal. Is it common in other stores too?

so i had orientation on monday and was supposed to go in the next day to finish the computer training but i wasnt able to make it due to parents being gone and having to watch my baby sister. i didnt think this was a big deal as when she asked all of us if we could come back in the next day one of the people we were with said they couldn't and she didnt seemed bothered and told her to come in on thursday. i texted her 3 times since and haven't gotten a response. the first time i gave her a heads up that i might be late and the next day my mom had told me she didnt think they'd make it back in time period so i texted her AGAIN asking if i can come in another day this week to finish everything up, still no response. fast forward to today still no response, so i texted her again asking if i can come in tomorrow. i know people are busy but i feel like i should've gotten a response by now? idk if im being paranoid but i really really need this job as im literally having a baby in september and cant work for much longer anyways so i wanted to start working as soon as i can before taking my leave. My mom says i should call her bc it'll show i care but it's her personal number and i don't wanna feel like im overstepping, especially if she is really that busy. i'm thinking of just going in there tomorrow since another girl is going too to finish her training and i feel like that'll also show i care but im really stuck on what i should do. Do i call her? Do i just show up? i'm really not sure what to do at this point.

I completed my online training this Monday, but I’m not sure when I’ll actually be called in for work, they haven't given me any updates. I was just wondering what the average wait time is before new employees start receiving shifts.

I do have a shift scheduled in August, but I thought it was a bit unusual that I wouldn’t be starting for another two weeks. I just wanted to check if that’s normal or if I can expect to be scheduled for any shifts before then.

I’ll have school three days a week starting in September, but I can work after 4 p.m. on two of those days and have open availability otherwise.

Typically its a damaged item they reduced when it was originally priced, but now with the digital price tags on shelves they look dumb for claiming a reduced price when its higher than the retail price. See so many of these at my store

Is anyone whose store is going through Operation Cold Front, where the whole frozen department is getting remodeled, getting tired of the process? When I come in, the overnight and team leads in charge are not finishing 4 to 7 doors. They take all of the items out, put them in the freezer, then leave them back there. I have to clean up other old freight they're not working on at night because it's so behind. I can't even pick until late in the day. I'm working so much freight they're not touching. I can't even put back all of the items they take out, and then they're not stocking the shelves with the freight. So I have customers mad and cursing me out about the missing door items, the fact that the items moved, and half the items are not on shelves. Right now, without my team lead, it's just me in frozen in one of the top preformingstore in country, so getting any more than two pallets a day, plus dealing with Spark and customers, is cutting into the usual 4 pallets I could work, plus my picks.

Any advice on getting through this?

So I'm moving to college next year which is around 2 to 3 hours away from me, I want to make sure I have a part time job set up over there. (because that's how I'll pay for school) so is it a good idea to atleast call up stores in the area and ask if they have any future openings months in advance? How would I make sure everything lines up well 💔

ok so i worked at walmart for a while and signed up on the one@work app to get instapay.. then i left walmart, but ended up coming back 6 months later. and apparently they’ve streamlined the one@work app to be included in the one pay app? (i think? im still not sure) but anyway. i no longer have access to the phone number i originally signed up for @work with. is there any way i can regain access so i can change to my new number and access instapay?!!

Based on my actions yesterday, I created a chain reaction to make things worse. Will I get coached for performing unauthorized overtime on purpose the next time I go to work? Should I confess and apologize once I clocked in?

So we have this problem showing up on the GM side of the building, Vizpic never reflects on what we have actively scanned. Cap 1 will go through and scan it every day, then later they will have a L+G associate scan it, and then sometimes my Team Lead. Around 3pm, it shows that we have not scanned our bins (a few shows scanned, but we have SO many that show unscanned). Any tips? We usually have to spend two hours every day running down the missing bins in our GM receiving and L+G bins

Thank you everyone for the love on my last post regarding my stacks. My managers allow me to take the pictures but I draw around it to block out any of my warehouse to just make sure I’ll be fine. 100% of our trips go into the wrap machine before being loaded so that will answer some questions. Our managers motto is “as long as it makes it to the truck” so majority of my coworkers trips are what you probably see on a daily basis. Like I said, I sit comfortably at a 180% till lunch then let it fall to a 160% after so I can get more hours while getting max incentive pay. I’ve been with the company between 1-2 years and this is my first job doing anything like this but I love it. Regardless of the hell I catch in my warehouse from coworkers & managers telling me to not focus on my stack so much so I can have 200%+ all day (for no reason whatsoever) I will continue perfecting my craft. I’d like to leave a huge shoutout to Tim Reviews Everything on YouTube because his warehouse series helped me so much at the beginning + his discord. I work at the service desk. Today I called out because I’ve been exhausted after a couple of busy days and not sleeping well. I don’t call out often, but today I woke up feeling completely drained and didn’t think I could be at my best dealing with customers all day.

The thing I’m struggling with is that I’m the only opener at the service desk, and on Wednesday’s I’m the only one scheduled at all until 2 p.m. I followed the call-out procedure, so it’s not a no-call/no-show, and even after today I’d only have 1.5 attendance points, which is still well below the limit.

I just feel really guilty because I don’t like inconveniencing people. At the same time, I also feel like it isn’t really my responsibility that there’s only one person trained and scheduled to open such an important area.

Has anyone else worked in a department where there was only one opener? Am I just overthinking, or is this just a staffing issue that management has to plan for?

This is how I started my 12 hour shift, I was running on 3 hours of sleep, yesterday’s coffee, and Concerta and the gods decided I needed this to start my week.

Best advice you'll be given for your tenure at Walmart is DO NOT I REPEAT SO NOT show them that you are a hard worker because they will 100% take advantage of that while their friends/favorites stay picking their ass for 8 hours.. do enough to where they can't say you're not working but do not go above and beyond thinking it'll get you in their good graces cuz it won't.

So I was working items brought back to electronics from receiving and get to this box. Open it up, remove the packing paper and find 1 SINGLE MICRO SD CARD. This is ridiculous and a waste of time, shipping materials, and money. So this, this is me calling SanDisk out. Tell me my global coworkers, do you have receiving/freight stories that made you say "wtf were these guys thinking"
