so because of some financial issues, i had a registration hold on my account until yesterday, but now all of my classes are full/closed. i have a meeting with my advisor tomorrow but i don’t know what to do because i can’t afford to skip a semester. please tell me im not absolutely screwed 😭

Hello all! I'm about to be a senior at the University of Florida. I'm planning on applying to Iowa this fall for the M.A. in Higher Education/Student Affairs. I've heard a lot of great things about the University of Iowa and this specific program (Kinnick Stadium rocks, by the way!)

On the program website, it says that the typical funding for HESA MA students for the academic year includes a $13.5k fellowship + 100% tuition/fees/insurance. However, in another paragraph, there's a portion that reads "A graduate internship (or full-time job) is required while taking coursework. Internships are paid placements with different higher education and student affairs units at the University of Iowa."

Are fellowships/internships the same thing, and if so, is $13.5k all I'd be receiving for living expenses for the academic year? Or are they separate, and I'd be receiving a stipend from my graduate internship on top of the $13.5k fellowship.

I will be attending uiowa as a 3rd year transfer student that accepted admission at the last minute. As of right now, I have spoken to my SOAR advisor who told me to email housing to see if there are dorms still available but I am likely going to have to rent somewhere. My only concern is that I will not be able to work enough to afford an apartment without roommates to split the cost with as a pre-med neuroscience major. I have an in-person orientation tomorrow where I hope to gain more information but for now I just want to know if there are any tips on finding people to room with this late in the summer (I know nobody who goes here yet).

I don’t care if you are conservative or liberal. There is separation between state schools and political agendas. It is wrong to require students who often come from working class families to pay to take a required MAGA class. I just stopped my donation when I found out and trust me they will notice!!

hi I’m trying to figure out layout options for my double in Slater. Anyone have any layouts to share or apps or any specs? my roommate and I want captain beds but trying to figure out the best layout so it’s as spacious as possible. there are limited pictures online and most cover the window which isn’t ideal for us.
