Im an incoming first year, international student.

It was taking really long to hear from housing, so i sent an email.

they told me that since I got out of highschool for more than a year, I was not guaranteed (even though I applied before may 1st), and they encouraged me to search for off campus.

The point is, I have no idea how any of this works, Im from Brasil, and cannot go in person to any visit and what nots. I am really lost here.

does anyone knows about housing and can help me out on this one?

Hey guys, why does my admission letter say summer 2026 session yet everything else is for winter session timeline like final transcript by july 15th? And how is it possible that I am admitted for summer session if classes started in May?

In the important dates section on the website it says that residence payment is due on august 1st but I can't pay on SHCS website? Its July 18th which is eerily close to August 1st. Nothing shows up it just says its up to date. Any ideas? Thanks!

what are some easy 300 400 level econ classes

Hi everyone!

I’m going into my first year this fall in the Bachelor of Science program at UBCO, and I had a question about Physics.

One of my degree requirements is PHYS 111 or PHYS 112, so either course should satisfy the prerequisite.

When registration first opened, all of the PHYS 112 (Introductory Physics for the Life Sciences) sections were full, so I registered in PHYS 111 (Introductory Physics for the Physical Sciences) instead.

Today, while looking through Workday (since it’s the last day for registration), I noticed that a PHYS 112 section has an available seat and it would fit my schedule perfectly. However, whenever I try to register, I get an error saying that I don’t meet the eligibility requirements.

I’m confused because another first-year BSc student I know was able to register in PHYS 112 without any issues. Does anyone know why I might be getting this eligibility error? Could it be because I’m already enrolled in PHYS 111, or is there another reason?

I also wanted to ask what the main differences are between PHYS 111 and PHYS 112. Which one would you recommend for a general Bachelor of Science student? Does one prepare you better for future courses, or is one generally considered easier than the other?

UPDATE: Once your residence is assigned and you are invoiced for the fees, you can defer the payment if you provide proof of applying for a student loan. You can't have it deferred until you are invoiced though. Thanks everyone for helping me with this.

This is for winter 2026/27. I am a new student, starting in year one in September.

Do you know if you can defer payment two which is about $7000 for residence and meal fees. it is due Aug 1 and I am waiting on funds to come in to help cover some of it (student loan) and haven't found a summer job yet and only have some savings.

I had thought it was due in September. I'm worried about this. I guess I looked at the payment schedule for last year and made some assumptions and planned for that.

Has anyone been able to get access to grad images from the ceremonies?
I’ve been inputting my name, school, and year into gradimages.ca, but no luck. No indication of when they may be up either.

Which of the Profs at UBCO, in your opinion, have great teaching ability and make the class an enjoyable learning experience? Please mention why, and a course title would be helpful to others. Thx!
