Translated [ZH] [Chinese > English] Can someone translate this tattoo?

Post image

This was my first tattoo, done about 18 years ago. I was told that the Chinese characters were supposed to mean my name, Adrian.
Could someone please translate what they actually mean and tell me whether they are written correctly?

Japanese [Japanese > English] tattoo design for client tomorrow

Post image

Hiya, hoping someone would be able to help with this? I've got someone booked in for tomorrow who sent this reference, and reverse image search only brought up something similar but not the same! So I'm not sure if another artist has redrawn it or if it's been put through AI, but I would love to go into the appointment knowing what it means so I can talk it through with him. Thanks :)

Edit: think he put a samurai calligraphy drawing and the characters for courage through AI! I'd never tattoo something I didn't find the original meaning of and won't be tattooing this, just wanted to prepare what to say when he comes in :)

Is this real japanese? Or some other language? Can someone tell me what it says?

r/translator 18h ago

Unknown [English > Unknown] I fear I've made a three way car pileup of three different languages in one book title. Please help rename working title "Ouroboros: Amor Ad Infinitum". Additionally, very sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this sort of question.

My wife was sewing this fabric in a quilt and wondered if it was writing. I thought I would check here to see if it might be Japanese or Chinese?

This is my favorite Japanese scroll because the image of Daruma looks a lot like me: bald and grumpy. Can you help me with the main calligraphy, what I take to be the artist's signature in the bottom right, and the seals?

I can offer nothing but my undying gratitude.

Translated [JA] [Japanese > English] Translation check for my first tattoo (spine) – does this sound natural?

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to get my first tattoo, and I want to make sure the Japanese is natural before I commit to something permanent.

The phrase I'm trying to express is: "To find meaning within chaos."

The translation I currently have is: 混沌の中に意味を見出す

The idea isn't that chaos itself has meaning, but rather that a person finds or creates meaning while living through chaos.

I have a few questions:

• Does 混沌の中に意味を見出す sound natural to a native Japanese speaker? • Does it convey the intended meaning accurately, or is there a more idiomatic or poetic way to express it? • Since this will be a vertical spine tattoo, would you recommend writing it vertically, and would any punctuation or formatting make it look more natural? • If you saw this as a tattoo, would it read like something a native speaker might write, or would it immediately sound like a direct translation?

I'd really appreciate any corrections or alternative suggestions. Since this will be my first tattoo, I'd rather get it right than regret it later.

Thank you very much!

Translated [?] [Unknown > English] Radio broadcast, maybe something Caucasian?

Received via sporadic E by my friend in Libya, so it would be anywhere between roughly 1300-2600km away in theory, although it could theoretically be a double hop. To me it sounds to be a Caucasian language but I'm unsure.

Hello Readers,

My little brother Nebis told me to write to you at the end of his beastiary and my contribution to his studies. Many of the animals written about are of my own, kept in my sanctuary hidden in the mountains. Respectful visitors are welcome if you are able to find me; disrespect will not be tolerated in any form. It is a sanctuary; it will stay that way for all kith, beast, or monster who may hold under my protection and do not wrong me in any way possible.

Yours truly, Olesya Ilyukhina, Daughter of the Goddess of the Night

Translated [JA] [Japanese > English] Makers mark on Japanese plane blade

I purchased an old Japanese plane (kanna) while in Japan. On the sides it seems to mention "Registered Trademark". However I'm struggling with the markings in the middle. The top 2 characters seem to write Aki Hisa, but I can't figure out the last character. One suggestion I found was "作" which would make sense, but it seems to be written quite different. Does anyone have more insights into this?

Maybe a button or old coin? Smaller than an inch in circumference, and very thin and flimsy but made of metal. Very rusted, tried to remove some with vinegar. Think it looks either Chinese or Japanese…. Just curious if anyone can help! Photos aren’t the best.
