Spent most of last summer out there with a net every morning. Some days when the wind picked up I was out there and still couldn't keep up. The cherry tree next to the pool is the main culprit. Picked up the s2 a few weeks ago. Surfer s2 runs on soalr and tracks the sun on its own so I never have to plug it in. Surface is cleaner now than when I was doing it by hand. The petals and leaves don't stand a chance. I will say the pollen is too fine for it. That stuff just passes right through. But anything with any size to it, it grabs no problem. Kind of weird not having to go out there with the net every morning anymore lol.

Husbands not home rn and said he was having trouble with the levels a few days ago. It’s a small above ground pool! We have an 11 month old who misses swimming.

Hi, first time pool owner here. Basically we’re renting a place and for the last couple of months we have noticed that we are losing too much water in our pool. The pool is 2.5x5m and about 5 feet deep. We are losing about more than 2 inches of water in a day. We think theres a leak but the real estate agent and the owner are quite adamant that its because the pool isn’t serviced with proper chemicals in a while by a professional.

The pool is completely in the shade and no sunlight falls on it and its been raining and winter time here in sydney right now so its just been sitting.

I just need help with understanding how chemicals can affect a pool to lose this much water or there could be any potential leaks?

We are in Tampa FL, putting in a freeform 12’ x 27’ swimming pool with a raised 7’6’x7’6’ spa with spillway. We are in a historic district so we can’t screen in the pool, but we are raising the edge of the pool 6” above ground level to guard against critters and swamping during heavy rains. The pool’s depth will go from 4’ to 5’ and there will be a curved 22’ bench along the far deep end of the pool. We’re putting in a 6’6 x 8’ sun shelf with four steps coming off of it and a LED bubbler with umbrella sleeve. The interior will be Stonescapes mini pebble finish in Tropic blue. The pool will have two Pentair 2 color LEDs in the pool and one 2 color LED in the spa. The pump will be a Pentair variable speed 200CL 3 hp pump with intiliflo, a Pentair clean and clear 200 square foot filter, a Pentair intellichlor salt generator, a Therm 125 heat/cool unit, and a Pentair Dorado robotic cleaner with leaf catcher; pump/spa will have Intilicenter automation.  We’re putting in 2”x2” tiles around the waterline and on the outside of the spa and raised edge of the pool on the exterior, and we’re putting in 1”x1” mosaic tiles on the spillway. Travertine coping and flagstone pavers around the exterior – we’re thinking of going semi-light since our sun is brutal, but are worried about staining. We’ve tried to think of all variables before getting to this point and we think we’re in pretty good shape, but wanted to get any other thoughts, feedback, or ideas on things we aren’t thinking about. Hello, I am new to care for our 20 000 gallons gunite pool. We are located in Massachusetts. Chlorine levels, PH and TA are within range per Taylor kit. However I have traces of algae on bottom and walls. I treated twice with algaecide in last week but it is coming back. Any suggestions? Thank you

My pool robot drives me nuts. It keeps cleaning the same area over and over. An hour later, there are still parts of the pool it hasn’t even reached. I have to stop it, move it to another spot, and start it again. Sometimes I have to do that more than once. It feels like I’m doing half the work myself...

I’m thinking about replacing it, but my budget is around $300-400. Has anyone found a robot in that price range that moves around the pool better?

Hey everyone - specifically professionals available - we had raccoons swimming in our pool 2 weeks ago and one pooped.

I need a little reassurance I did enough to make the pool safe for my young kids. I have a parasite phobia and I cannot think rationally or move past my fear of dead, blind or disabled children.

We closed the pool immediately but my sweet, perfect but misguided husband tried to clean it with our pool shark without reading first that that was a bad idea and would basically spread the millions of roundworm eggs around the entire pool.

We ran the filter continuously until the pool guys were able to come, empty the pool, refill it and change the sand filter.

I’m worried it’s not enough. I have a concrete pool and I read the eggs are sticky and cling to textured surfaces. I am worried that they are left over from the sides of the pool or the intake/outflow piping.

What are the remaining risks? Is there anything else I can do to feel safer about sending my kids back in?

I am thinking of just closing the pool for the rest of the summer and hoping the winter freeze will take care of whatever is left. My kids will hate me but it’s better that then having worms burrow in their optic nerves!

Only the pebble tech finish broke off. The pool repair company quoted me $750 and said it would not match the color after fixing. I figured I could just buy the Leslie‘s patch it cement and do it myself. I heard its better to keep the cement mix in a bag and apply it directly under the water to avoid clouding

Pool usage ramps up hard in July and August so I basically need to clean it every single day. My current robot does a really poor job at cleaning and I plan to get a replacement. I already have a skimmer for surface floating trash so I don't need a robot with surface cleaning. My total budget is 700 dollars.

I have narrowed my choices down to two options and I really struggle to pick one. The first is dolphin E10. It runs nonstop with constant power so I never worry about battery life. The obvious downside is the power cord tends to get tangled up easily during operation. The other pick is beatbot sora 10. It has no messy cables at all. I just drop it into the pool and it starts cleaning automatically and it is easy to store. The only downside is I have to charge it regularly before each use.

Could anyone share real experience and help me decide between these two models?

Newer to pool care just posted recently about a filter issue. I appreciate anyone that helped out. Another question I have that I can't get a clear answer on is whether it's OK or not to run my pump 24/7 during the summer season? I'm less concerned with the cost of electricity and more wondering about the longevity or lifespan of my pump itself. I'm finding mixed answers and some of the threads are a few years old so I'm looking for advice in 2026. Does everyone generally run at 8 to 10 hours and turn it off or leave it on 24/7?

My pool is kidney shaped with steps and a main drain. I left my robot running while I was out for about an hour, and when I got back it was still cleaning the same area.

The pool does get clean eventually, so I don't think suction is the problem. It just spends too long going over the same spots instead of covering everything, so each cycle takes a lot longer than it should.

I'm thinking about upgrading my robot, and I'm wondering, does better navigation make a bigger difference in real world use than just having more suction?

Hi all, long time lurker and commenter but never made a post. Take it easy on me with spelling and bad punctuation.

Pool is 20x40 in-ground with about 8.5’ deep end. Vinyl liner. Calculates out to about 25k gallons.

Hayward aquarite, hayward DE filter, starite variable speed pump, heater present but disconnected. Pool is new to me as of 2017, the previous home owner put it in the early 2000’s. Liner replaced maybe 12 years ago, looks pretty good except the bottom being faded. I converted it to salt for my wife’s allergies in 17.
Water is always perfect except when being opened in the spring.

I had a storm branch puncture the liner during a flash hurricane during early covid, nice gash in the worst spot, in the corner where the it meets the floor on the shallow end. Since then ive been losing sleep every summer about water loss.

I repatched my original patch recently, leaked checked before and after, no issues. Go around all the seems, jets and skimmers with the dye syringe yearly. Cant stay under long enough to check main drain(im a floater).

How much water do these pools lose due to evaporation? Pool hovers around low 80s but creeps up to mid 80s when its 90+ out. Without use Im losing maybe 1/2-3/4 a day and im wondering if im chasing a ghost. I live at sea level in the northeast if that matters, i feel like im always topping off the pool weekly.

Hi everyone, I had a Jandy truclear salt cell installed about 7 months ago in my in-ground plaster pool and I’m having to clean off a thick white scale from it every two weeks or so. My water is very hard (calcium hardness 625ppm on today’s test). I have white scales floating all around in my pool as well. If this matters- free chlorine 5ppm, CYA 60.

How do I go about addressing this rapid scale buildup/calcium hardness issue? Thank you!!

Our swimming pool is under construction & this is what we saw from the sides of the panel after today’s torrential downpour. Is it normal ?

I currently have my salt cell set at 60% output. Pump runs 11 hours.
Salt level is 3,600.
I want to keep my FC at 13.4 because I have just slammed pool because of black algae.
Last night FC level was 13.8. Tonight it was at 12. I checked chlorine level by outflow and it was 12.5 so the cell is producing chlorine. Should I run pump longer or just up the salt cell to 80%

Leslie’s pool told me that CYA sits on top of the water about 1 ft deep of your pool and I need to put my pump on the first step or prop it up with rope so the pump gets more of the top of the water. Is that true? CYA doesn’t mix and just stays on top? Thanks

I run the dolphin nautilus pool robot for 3 hours and the surfer skimmer cleaner for 6 hours

Attached is last Leslie test. Pool service today said I had 0 chlorine.

I will turn off the pump and drain with a superior 1/4 utility pump a flexzilla 5/8 100ft hose to my front yard sewer drain for 3 1/2 hours the first day.

Put 2 regular size garden hoses in the shallow end while I pump. Fill back up to the skimmer line and repeat the next day or 2 days later?

I’m not going to use the chlorine/cya tablets anymore.

What time of day should I add my liquid chlorine? How long should I run the pump after? Should I change any of my pump settings?

I be using a waterguru sense 3 to tell me all my chemical levels and how much to add and cancel my pool service. Any feedback on those? Any other tips thanks.

How do I check for blockage or debris in filters -
My heater is giving a
Ps error which I understand means low or no water flow to the heater.
My intelchem system says alarm- no flow but I can’t begin to guess where I start.
