Around a year ago i ate cheap sushi from a small restaurant, they delivered on my house, i ate the regular niguiri, hossomaki, etc.
I also had a salmon Temaki, i wasnt hungry enough so i just put in the fridge and had it for breakfast the next day.
Around twelve hours later, i started showing symptoms of food poisoning, i woke up around 1 am rushing to the bathroom and i violently vomited in the toilet, felt like throwing my soul right into the toilet, God that was horrible...
Now, this day, i am craving sushi, i wont buy it from a "cheap" restaurant but im still afraid, i had sushi a few times before but i never got sick until last time.
Im scared i might get sick again, i know it wont kill me but the fear is still there, tho im also craving some sushi.
Is there anything i can do to avoid getting sick? I really just want to eat sushi without waking up in the middle of the night and throwing up my soul

It’s been a long week. Got my brother and I a decent sashimi fix. He inhaled majority of it. All for around 20 usd + delivery. Really worth it.
- Salmon sashimi
- Salmon don
- Convenience store onigiri
- Soft boiled egg tax (for me)
📍 Sashimix, QC, PH
Maki List:
Crab + Avo
Crab + Cucumber
Crab + Avo & Cucumber
Salmon + Avo
Sauces utilized - Egg Mayo (Lithuanian) very similar to Kewpie/Kenko Japanese Mayo, Wowmama Garlic dressing
Hosomaki List:
Cucumber + Avo
Salmon + Avo
Salmon + Cucumber
Made with Philadelphia Herbs Spread (The Green One)
Used Cold Smoked Salmon Fillet for both Hosomake and Maki rolls
Let's hope Grandma likes it!
P.s. - Pretty sure she won't be able to eat it all so it'll be a good excuse for her to invite guests over :D
Any and all questions are welcome! Peace ✌️

These aren't all the courses, but they're the ones I remembered to photograph before I ate them, lol.
Chef Steve and Kitchen Manager Jane (married) gave us a wonderful evening filled with stories, sake and soju, and of course, delicious sushi.

I’m a frequent patron of Nakama in Philly and have enjoyed many chirashi bowls and omakase meals there. It’s basically my favorite sushi spot in Philly. When you walk into Nakama, you might be surprised because the decor is kind of spartan, but for me, it’s never about the decor. It’s all about the food and owner Chef Harada shares my sentiment. Today (7/22/26) was a very special day. I had asked him in advance to prepare a special meal for me, one that is not bound by his typical omakase offerings.
“I open myself to your creativity,” I said to Chef. Chef Harada smiled.
What follows is a list of what I had today for lunch omakase. Some items are from Chef's omakase menu. Others are completely crafted from his mind and not offered on the menu. He knows what I like and he delivered.
1 Bluefin Tuna Crudo
2 Hokkaido Scallop with Otoro
3 Oyster with Otoro
4 Japanese Radish in Dashi with Foie Gras
5 Kampachi with Yuzu Kosho and Oil and Balsamic Vinegar
6 Kinki
7 Yuzu Miso Salmon with Mushrooms
8 Aji (Horse Mackerel)
9 Geoduck Clam and Geoduck Liver
10 Uni Risotto with Foie Gras Snow Crab
11 Nodoguro
12 Otoro Belly (choice of belly or cheek)
13 Tuna Cheek Two Ways (Raw and Cooked to texture of Wagyu)
14 Miso Cod
15 Wagyu with Soft Boiled egg in two sauces
16 Handroll
17 Unagi Foie Gras
18 Otoro Scallop Uni
“How was everything?” Chef asked at the end.
“Everything that is good in life is in that omakase,” I replied.
Note: The pictures are ordered with number 12 first just as a cover photo. The rest of the pictures are in order so if you put picture 12 in between the Nodoguro and Tuna Cheek Two Ways that matches my list.

Sushi Suite 202 in Chicago
This was an absolutely incredible experience! We did the 17 course Date Night package with sake pairing.
Each bite was fresh, flavorful and masterfully created by Chef Chris. The standouts were the yellowtail, fatty tuna and wagyu.
Service was phenomenal and loved the vibes in the space.
Highly recommend for a special occasion!

Didn't read and accidentally ordered double the amount I was trying to. Wasn't a problem though had a great time.
It's kinda become a tradition as I only get to see my family once a year. I enjoy making sushi and seeing my mum n the fam devour it :D
Feedback is welcome, I think I might introduce nigiri & sashimi to the menu next year, let me know your thoughts!
Oh and this is the guy that makes them, they call him Minde, I hope it hasn't made you cringe too much :)
Made yuzu kosho adjacent deal from scratch. Pretty dang good, but I should have hunted the store-bought stuff down. Also made a plate of sashimi because I am unwise. Ate it all and fell asleep on the couch. God I miss her so much. Anyway, see y’all on the other side, lmao
Edit: Got more traction than I’d thought this would. If you see this, hi, Pickle :) I’m trying

I'll post what I made last year if you guys enjoy this :) I do this for my mum each year that I visit her as she loves them and I love her :)
Fyi not belittleling the post before me! It gave me the inspiration to post my stuff for the sub to see! Tho ignorantly the title does comes across as utter ass! I want those nigiri's! :D! Handmade Nigiri's are hard yknow?!
