Im not spending a single dollar in the store until SQ42 is released. I know it doesn't matter (that they couldn't care less) but I’m tired, really tired. Not just of the wait for SQ42, but of all the secrecy surrounding the project.
Since I put my first dollar into this game:
- Finished my degree.
- Finished my master.
- Found a job.
- Gotten married.
- Had a child with the woman of my life.
I’m sorry, but today I made the decision. I’m done.
I don't mind if people are being negative starcitizen deserves criticism, but the sub is getting clogged up with low effort rage bait posts multiple times a day.
Do we need our daily dose of these posts?
Call to action posts i'm not spending another dollar till cig does X
I'm quitting
I got my friend to play starcitizen but X bug happened and they swore they'd never play again.
I swear this site and this sub are turning into facebook cause of lack of proper moderation.
And no, I’m not talking about new ships…there’s no shortage of those. I’m referring to the core features Chris Roberts mentioned in his letter:
- Dynamic Server Meshing: it’s not here, nor do I expect it anytime soon; the way they’ve handled it is so embarrassing that they haven’t even offered an explanation. This technology is essential, and... we’re still waiting.
- SQ42: no comment.
- PlanetTech V5: CR says 2026, but I doubt it. Not even a preview? Nothing. I don’t expect it until 2027, and even that’s optimistic.
- Starchitect: more of the same.
- New flight system: I haven’t heard a word about this; for all I know, it might be cancelled.
- Pyro solar flares: anything new?
- Social system: supposedly coming this year... everything is slated for this year, yet nothing is actually happening.
- Base building: well, there you have it maybe in our dreams.
Is it really so hard for someone responsible at CIG to come and provide an update? Is that too much to ask?
Not to overdo it but it really was one of the most memorable experiences I've had in gaming. Buddy and I worked together, aligned the dishes, fired the god laser, and reaped the rewards. What a hell of an experience.
As a side note I'm sorry to the Perseus pilot we became entangled with. We had no ill intent but your tag was red and you were in the middle of a bunch of NPCs and got accidentally missile locked.
And to the mysterious Eclipse pilot who gave me the nose nod and chose not to murder me at my most vulnerable, thank you.
The measurement in the picture is the distance from the breech face to the muzzle. There is a bit of distortion due to the camera perspective, so just take it for fun!
Creating this because I frequently see comments on posts saying, "It was just S42 and the PU was a stretch goal!", or "Nobody backed for S42, it was tacked on later"!
PSA: it was two games from day one. From the very first announcement.
The entire reason Chris dove in to create this game is that he felt he could create one project that combined Wing Commander, Freelancer, and Privateer into a single universe. Not some of them: all them.
You can see that Chris explains the game is both persistent online universe, and everything that was great about Wing Commander (the single player story adventure) as well.
The original plan was to collect $2-4 million to make a multiplayer Alpha that would attract further investment to build it into something bigger, and to release Squadron 42 as a completed game within 18 months.
For reference, here are the original funding goals:
Star Citizen's Original Funding Goals
So the original plan was that at $2 million minimum, Star Citizen gets made — with both games.
A rich universe focused on epic space adventure, trading and dogfighting in first person.
Single Player – Offline or Online(Drop in / Drop out co-op play
Persistent Universe (hosted by US)
By the time funding $6 million around November 19, 2012, the plan had changed to "all the bells and whistles. This is a key point: the game was never intended to be small. It was "start with an Alpha PU and S42, build the bigger PU with investor help". It became "build the entire post-Alpha PU ourselves" around $20-23 million.
So please, let's stop the claims that this game was one game, with the other tacked on. It's ok to have your preference — but if you've backed, from day one, your money was going to either/both games.
Made my way through the 4.8 cycle and was still able to have fun and defend the game.
Now in 4.9 with all the “bug fixes” i can’t do the usual hauling I like to do due to no cargo spawning for missions, and trying bunker missions I get sent to Klescher for trespassing and I lose 2 high Q crafted weapons, 3 pieces of high Q crafted armor and just now lost all the mined materials I had to replace armor and weapons when my ironclad assault decided to explode in my hangar of its own accord.
Found an Arden-SL helmet at JT named “PH” (skin description also say “PH”) it’s fully chrome all around and reflects everything. Wasn’t able to find anything about it anywhere.
Basically if your game crashes or you alt-f4 or log off (combat timed) while mobiGlas is open, you will not be able to move from there on. No workarounds.
Hey all, asking for help to get this confirmed. The 400i main front under thruster has been made inoperable and sucked it self back into the mesh of the ship. This is one of the main maneuvering thrusters for the nose of the ship! If you guys could please add to this, Just trying to get it on the board of the IC so someday it get's fixed.
Also included a picture of what has happened. They fixed it once but it has reverted like soo many other bugs in this game. It needs to come back out of it's housing.
Thank you to all that help, if any of you have a IC that could use my help or would like to shine some light on please post them in the comments and ill help as many as I can also :)
