This 27 yo girl with no kids, owns a business making over a million a year, and goes to church (I’m not religious but i know some of you like that quality) wants to marry me after the second date. She won’t stop texting me. Calls me handsome and hot.

Now, I usually don’t go for someone this young, but she initiated and I just gave it a shot.

Personally I’m not ready to marry anyone on the second date and I think it’s ridiculous, and I can’t move that fast. Especially after my marriage. But I’m just writing this to show that on paper, Reddit would tell me it’s over and call me grandpa or something. But reality is, if you’re a good person and have self worth, and are a respectful gentleman, you can find someone.

For example, I'm a 5'1-5'2 M and there's someone I'm interested in but the problem is one time while walking past her I glanced at her to try estimating the height difference and I think I reached around her chin height or maybe mid of neck height. So I guess a difference of 8-9 inches if I really was around her chin height? Or I could also say give or take an inch or two so the difference could be 6 to 11 inches cause maybe I saw wrong? Personally I think that's too much of a difference

I’m a 30 year old 5’1 petite woman.

I’ve never really felt insecure about my height until recently.

Out of no where, it all just hit me… people saying “she’s cute but not striking”… clothes never fitting properly in any store… feeling uncomfortable in fancy places full of tall people as if everyone’s looking over my head…. Feeling like people can bully or belittle me because of my stature … jokes from family members saying I should model for baby gap… comments on how I get any respect from my students as a high school teacher. It all didn’t sting until recently.

Anyway, I was thinking to gather reasons why being short is beneficial. Things I can do and wear that non short people can’t. Looking for a positive spin on it all :)

I tried a lot but it’s just so embarrassing. People on here are kind and they say it’s okay but irl it isn’t. Idk how to keep going while looking like this. I wish I was normal like other people. I’m a short mom. 5’2”. My ex, my son’s dad is super short too. Maybe 5’3”-5’4”. My son is done growing at 16 and is around 5’4”. We saw an xray for an issue and it said his plates have closed. He’s a great kid. Easy going, attractive, smart, funny, muscular. The whole package. I asked him if it bothered him and he said it doesn’t. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t. But I’m not 100 percent sure. And I’ve always liked short men, obviously I married one even though we later divorced. I guess I’m not really asking anything. I feel like I shouldn’t even worry, but part of me does. There’s so much heightism in our country. It’s constant. I don’t ever want him to be negatively affected by it. Again, he seems super confident. He’s gonna be fine, right?

I’ve always been okay with my height, it’s never really bothered me. Since both my parents were pretty tall, I expected to turn out the same. Being the oldest, I was always taller than both my siblings up until they both started hitting puberty. My siblings slowly started passing me in height, but I still didn’t think much of it. I honestly thought I was just a late bloomer but apparently not? I’ve always been active in sports and always tried to eat healthy. I’m 19 now and I doubt I’ll be as tall as my family. All in all, it just sucks that I could’ve been taller. I’m also curious if anyone else is in the same situation?

My dad is 5 11 and my mom is 5 6 everyone else is some much taller me and iam worried I will be short for ever

I’m 19F 5’1 (used to be 5’0 but got a random growth spurt this year?) and have 17-19% S shaped scoliosis. (lumbar and cervical) and have pretty bad lumbar lordosis but I’m working on it slowly. I grew up pretty poor and didn’t get enough nutrients. My mother also has scoliosis and should’ve been 5’4 but compressed to 5’2 because of severity. My father is 5’10-5’11.

Is there any hope for me?

I've been thinking of getting new insoles and thought that might as well get a few inches of height while at it. My biggest problem is the ball of my foot hurting at around 10k steps mark, since my shoes don't offer enough cushioning.

Has anyone here found insoles that actually help with pain, but also increase height? I've heard that many insoles specifically made for giving extra height aren't very comfortable.

I’m male 17 years old. So i thought my height was 173cm but it is around 171.5 - 172cm which is around 5' 7.5’’. i wanna know if I can call myself 5’ 8’’ or just be honest as I’m worried others who are my height could tell the difference and make fun of me. I measured at 8 pm.

So last week, just as an experiment, I opened an account on a few dating apps and listed my real height. Even though everything else about my profile was above average—income, status, etc.—what caught my eye was how even average-looking women have high standards (not that I’m against that). One woman was 4'4" and had in her bio that she wants a guy who's 6' to 6'3", regardless of how much he makes.

I thought, okay, let me change the demographics to regions where the average male height is 5'5" to 5'7". To my surprise, it was the same thing 😂. Out of 20 profiles, I found only one that was okay with 5'7" and above.

I am this height since 13 and back then everyone treated me as I was 6’4 and when I grew up I thought I was 6’1 or 6’2 because my height have always been one of the main topic in my appearance, also everyone were telling me that I didn’t need any more inches and that I will grow exactly 6’4 or more but currently I measured and I am just 6’0 tall and in irl I felt really tall because I thought I was 6’1 or more(because it turned out that everyone were lying about their height around me and they always added inches to their height) and on the internet 6’0 considered already average and for girls it might consider short or not enough, all the girls describe ideal male 6’1 minimum or even more. I haven't had a girlfriend or been on dates and I have trouble communicating with women and I feel stupid because I'm short.

I think I'll never find a girlfriend and I'll die alone. When I see posts about short men finding a girlfriend , I think they've found a girlfriend because they must be handsome in person and as you know, if you're handsome, women will overcome your height.

I'm thinking about whether I should go to a combat sport to become more masculine. For example, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or first go to the gym because I'm quite thin, I'm around 57/58kg, but I still think that no matter what I do, nothing will help me. For context I am 17m (straight) 5'3" in the U.S, yes there is genuinely people who won't date you for your height or any number of reasons, or look down on you because of your height. But, I think there is just as many people who don't care about that at all or is the deciding factor. And the self imposed attitude that all women only care about height, or that because your short your life is doomed I hate. It is my personal opinion that people use being short as an excuse to not work on themeselves, or just giving up. Instead of accepting it, moving on, and focusing on what you can change.

I am not going to deny people see me as definetely less authoratative and traditional masculine (doesnt help that I have a little bit of a baby face), but work ethic, results, and outgoingness has genuinely made it so I've never really encountered an oppurtunity where height has been a limiting factor. I know i'm still just getting into a career but in highschool I had a large roles in many major clubs, and had a few internships/jobs, and got into a really good university.

And with relationships the idea that because you are short means you are doomed I find equally disappointing. This past school year (senior year of high school) I haven't really focused on building a relationship with anyone because I would be leaving for university, multiple different girls had crushes on me this year and throughout high school I have had other relationships/situationships. Most of them were taller than me...

Two things I have noticed is that meeting people in person and building friendships first helps before moving to something more serious, and you can usually tell if they are intrested. And from my experience bi-girls are more willing to date short guys... I will say my face has a more adrogenous so maybe that has something to do with it idk.

Anyways this is a rant and I know everyone has different experiences but I really think short guys overvalue height when there is so many other things that matter. Like yeah we're short, okay everyone knows that so find people who value you for you, and if they immidiently dismiss you because of height you probably didnt want to be close to them anyways.

So I’m dating a guy who is 5’4 and I’m 5’4 as well. He is always super confident which I love. I don’t care about his height at all. Anyways he’s never mentioned his height or being insecure about it but this morning we went to the gym and there was a tall buff guy next to me on the treadmill. When I was done the guy I’m dating comes over to me and said is the tall guy with the muscles next to you your type? I said huh because I was genuinely confused because it came out of nowhere. He did it again and he said the tall guy. Idk what to say or do to show him that I honestly don’t care about his height and that I like him just the way he is.

Let's be real, the absolute pinnacle of heightism is USA, unfortunately, brazilian people love to import cultural stuff from there, and a bit of our own stuff has made that in my 20+ years of life ive only seen a couple with a taller gf once

Getting to know other nationalities seems like countries with more sexist cultures (here, India, Turkey) have more heightism why countries with more gender equality seems to not care much about it
