Request Day 1 – My Russian Learning Journey (Busuu) | Feedback Welcome!

Post image

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm from India, and Hindi is my native language. 🇮🇳 I'm currently learning Russian from the absolute beginner level using Busuu.

After each lesson, I use ChatGPT to help me organize what I've learned into neat handwritten study notes. The content is based on my Busuu lessons, and the handwritten notes are simply a way for me to revise and remember the material better.

I'll be sharing these notes here regularly as I progress.

I would really appreciate your feedback:

- 🇷🇺 Are there any spelling or grammar mistakes?

- ✍️ Are my translations accurate?

- 💬 Is there a more natural or common way to say something?

- 📚 Is there anything important I should add, remove, or correct?

Please feel free to be as critical as you like. I'm here to learn, and I genuinely appreciate every correction and suggestion.

Thank you very much for your help!

Спасибо большое! 😊

Interesting Does the name Natalie exist in Russia? Or just Natalia

I am Armenian born in North America and even though it‘s not the most common name, there are a few Natalie‘s and it is not viewed as a strange name. This is almost exclusively amongst Western Armenians. We spell it Նաթալի = Natalie.

Ever since meeting Eastern Armenians (usually born in Armenia) despite SEEING my name written as Natalie. They always drop the E, to directly copy how it is in Armenian, and write is as Նատալի or think it’s Natalia. I was surprised to hear this isn’t really a name in Armenia much. They told me you won’t hear this name there even though it’s common among diaspora Western Armenians and I realized it’s probably because diaspora is often in France and Lebanon where French is common. I was also born in North America.

I believe that it is a name with French origins, or Latin, but one time my dentist’s assistant told me that it is a common name in Russia. She didn’t say, Natalia, she said Natalie. This just doesn’t seem like it’s true.

Growing up, I was in a ballet environment with all Ukrainian teachers who also spoke Russian, and of course they always gave me many different diminutives or versions of my name like Nata, Natichka etc. like I can think of 10 creative ones. My sisters Georgian Russian singing teacher also calls me Natasha. But I don’t really think Natalie is a name in Russia.

Armenian and Russian are not similar, but since they are somewhat close countries, I thought it would be interesting because sometimes there are similar names plus after all the Soviet stuff that may have affected names even though Armenia has purely traditional Armenian names

Перевод «пороговый» тоже ничего не добавляет. Что такое «пороговое пространство», например?

Request Looking for Russian friends to practice my Russian 🇷🇺

Hi everyone!

I'm currently learning Russian, and I'd really like to make some Russian friends to practice the language. My level is still beginner, so I might make mistakes, but I'm eager to learn and improve.

We can chat about everyday life, hobbies, music, movies, or anything interesting. In return, I can help you practice English or Arabic if you'd like.

Feel free to send me a message if you're interested. ❣️

Grammar I was trying to have a cup of tea, when this hit me like a bat. Is this a correct Ru to Eng translation or not because to me it makes no sense.

* * *

В битве защити меня…

даже в самой страшной тьме,

буду я твой щит и меч, твоя броня,

и ты также мне.

Эхо выстрелов звенит,

может нас один убьёт,

все останется как есть, но ведь может наоборот…???

В битве защити меня…

Note: this is not intended as a literal word for word translation, and yes, there is a verse missing because I could not find a way to adequately translate it and keep the rhythm and rhyme intact, but I hope that the overall meaning comes across and you guys enjoy it, thanks. Also, as before I can take requests (заказы/заявки) but can't make any promises. Take care.

I saw that all of the decks were lacking in one area or another so i made my own. Its not super pretty but i think its pretty valuable. Hope ppl can benefit from this deck. It has 10k words.
