Complete newcomer to this, the only RC cars I've driven were toys from my childhood, I'm now in my 40's

We have a local RC car club who do races with 2wd and 4wd models, what would be the absolute entry level to start to participate, I don't know how up to date their website is, but they suggest cars such as Schumacher: Cougar LD3 (Mod or Dirt), CAT L1R, XRay: XB2, XB4, TLR (Team Losi Racing): 22 5.0, 22-X4, Associated: RC10 B64, B6, B7, B74

I assume these will all be in kit form so I will need to learn how to solder and what parts are compatible?

Is there a good online resource I can use to teach myself the basics?

I wanted mudflaps for all the four wheels, not to flap mud, just to look cool 😎

China has that pair with the skull, that's made to be screwed to the car, and they are only for the rear wheels. I wanted mudflaps that come off when I remove the shell, so I made my own.

They are made out of some cheap leather thing (this material is used normally for making personal protection equipment, like gloves and "aprons" for welders).

My inspiration was the Pajero evolution mudflaps.

These are still in development, but I'm so happy with the results that I want to show it already! After I'm done I'll update you guys if you like it! Hope that you like it o/

The rear ones I didn't like that much so I'll redo them. I'll paint the chains in silver and finish painting the mudflaps. I think I'll do some art in black on the mudflaps too. Maybe the "UDR" or something. If you have a suggestion, I'm listening o/

So I went to my local shop looking for some new wheels and tires for my Omni Terminator. I was wanting a little bigger tire for better ground clearance and a slight boost of speed. The only thing the had was also a littler skinnier than the original wheels. Got a set of 4 anyways. Put them on, and I got everything I wanted out of them. Less body slap, a bit faster, and easier to self right after flipping over. BUT, now it rolls over in a turn quite easily. Is there any suspension adjustments I can do to help with this?

This was fun, had ontrack deliver a battery that I bought and they put it on the steps of a motorhome on my property that is a LONG way from my actual house and mailbox AND was behind a bunch of like 2 foot tall weeds that they would have to trudge through to get it there

Hey everyone, I am based on the UK and picked up this RC car at a swap shop last weekend.

Just wondered if anyone can identify the make and model and more importantly the battery required

I have bought a standard 7.2V NiMH battery and it is too big physically and the standard Tamiya connector is also too big, so I assume it is a mini-Tamiya required.

Found that they have a crawler kit I’ve been trying to get my hands on for a while that I can’t seem to find anywhere else.

Got driven through salt water and out away wet. Can this be saved? Everything seems to work but no longer turns.

Hey everyone. Some of you may remember I just got a ECX ruckus for 30$!

Well it's a great deal and it does run (brushed original setup). However, it's filthy and I cannot currently work on it until it is clean.

I was thinking about tearing it apart outside (as I'll be working on putting new electronics into it). But anyone have tips on tools to scrub with? I was thinking a brush.

Also anyone have some good price point shocks? The ones on this are beat (no surprise).

Tries are rough but I cannot justify spending 20$ on cheap ones and 80$ on good ones I want right now so they will just have to do for now.
