In 1997, this man was the ABVP National Secretary and was just about to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. There was a paper leak in Odisha and there was a major protest. This man participated in them. He was beaten by the police.
"We staged a protest against the Odisha government, in front of the secretariat. Around 1,500 students joined us there. While the protest was peaceful, the police charged against the activists. He was badly beaten up at that time. He had a few fractures too."
Who is he? Mr Dharmendra Pradhan. Imagine that Dharmendra Pradhan was protesting against paper leaks in 1997 and was beaten!
There is an amazing Indian Express article about him. Linked below. The irony? One of the interviewees says:
"under Pradhan's regime, the students will have more scope for dissent. "It is natural for students to be anti-establishment."

I'm neither a NEET aspirant nor a supporter of any political party. I'm here because I support the cause. For me, it's about accountability. Democracy doesn't end with voting; it is when those we elect remain answerable to the people.
If citizens cannot peacefully ask questions, where in our Constitution is the use of brutal force, lathi charges, and tear gas against peaceful protesters justified?Don't make every protest about religion, caste, or any community. Read about the issue, think for yourself, and find your own cause instead of letting social media decide it for you. Let's show what a democratic protest looks like through non-violence.
Let's keep democracy alive.

I work in a rural part of Maharashtra and i am planning to leave this country in a few years if BJP stays in power in 2029 and it’s not about my religion or caste or my safety. I love my country and what this country has shown in past few weeks is nothing short of miracle, but a large sum of the population of our country is uneducated and biased with their beliefs and opinion regarding lathi charge on students and people in rural areas think what the police and government has done is absolutely right because they believe in whatever media they are shown. If this protest doesn’t give any fair judgement to the kids in protest and kids who killed themself. It better to leave this country than to work for the corrupts. We get only one life to live. Cannot compromise living in hell when i still got a chance to leave it.

Hi everyone!
I'll be moving to Pune soon (around Hinjewadi Phase 2) for work and will probably be staying there for the next 2–3 years. Since I'm completely new to the city, I wanted to get recommendations from the locals.
I'm an aspiring powerlifter. I've seen a lot of powerlifting content from Pune on Instagram, but I'd love recommendations from people here. Any powerlifting-focused gyms or gyms with good equipment and a serious lifting crowd?
I love reading books, so are there any active book clubs in Pune? Also interested in joining communities around music, cooking, board games, or any other hobby-based clubs. Looking to meet people outside of work.
How's Pune's nightlife? Is it as lively as Bangalore, or does it have a different vibe? Any bars, breweries, or places you'd recommend for weekends?
I know Ganesh Chaturthi is huge in Maharashtra, but what festivals or local events are a must-experience in Pune specifically?
Any cafés you'd recommend for reading, working, or just unwinding after office or on weekends? Bonus points if they have good coffee and a peaceful atmosphere.
I'm genuinely excited to experience the Punekar life over the next few years. Any other tips, hidden gems, or "things you wish you knew before moving to Pune" are more than welcome!
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,
We are a male group of friends and are planning a weekend stay at a nearby villa (Near Torna Fort) and we'll probably pick up a few bottles from a licensed liquor store from Pune.
I've never really carried alcohol in my car before, so I was wondering if there are any rules I should be aware of.
Just want to make sure I don't end up in an unnecessary hassle over something I wasn't aware of.

Rain or shine, we punekars will not obey traffic signal lights. It's our birthright.
Even if it means getting close to deleting fellow humans.
The fault is completely on the WagonR taxi.
The guy on the access wasn't a saint either. He just got lucky.

Today I noticed that many trees were cut down on pune Satara road near natubaug. Who is cutting these trees? Is this related to the metro work going on there? Moreover, I loved to see the beautiful foliage of the trees amidst buildings and I hate to see them gone. If anyone knows what this is about, please let me know.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for MCA colleges in or around Pune where regular college attendance is not compulsory. Ideally, I would like a college where I only need to visit for exams or other essential academic requirements.
If anyone knows of colleges offering this kind of flexibility, please share your recommendations and experiences.
Thanks!
