A friend of mine passed me this band, they’re italian and they’re the mix of psychotic waltz, atheist and spiral architect. Really good band, i’m listening to this ep a lot in these days. Wild how much spectacular prog metal bands the underground has

Sort of heavy prog that reminds me of Psychotic Waltz, Queensryche and Fates Warning. Also have lots of fusion guitar solo that kinda reminds me of Atheist. The voice is really similar to black sabbath’s singer Tony Martin and they blend strange structures of the songs with catchy melodies and short songs. I think that they’re really underrated and i hope that one day lots people will discover them (on spotify the most famous song has 7809 plays).

Would love to hear your thoughts! This song was supposed to be a part of my upcoming full length, but when I started recording the song really took a life of its own, and I realised it doesn't fit the rest of the songs in the album and it needs to have it's own spot. its just - Different :)

Sleepless Void is a playground for all my musical ideas and lyrical thoughts, it deals with themes of solipsism and isolation which I often find myself lost at. The feeling of being alone and different in a society which you can never really understand.

I tend to get a lot of questions, so I'll try to answer some of them in advance. =) I use the velocity-sensitive pads (not buttons) of my Launchpad Pro MIDI controller to play (and usually improvise) all instruments at the same time. Every sound you hear in this video was triggered live, I didn't use any backing tracks or even a metronome, and I didn't edit the recorded MIDI in any way. I use Ableton Live to host my virtual instruments (Superior Drummer 3, Odin III, Inferno Bass II) and lots of effects, I basically run an entire mixing/mastering chain in real time. This is a progressive metal song with an interesting song structure. It is based on the compositional structure used on Terry Riley's "In C" except focusing on rhythms instead of melodies. There are several unconventional time signatures used throughout, none of which are 4/4. The Soprano sings using a grapic score and also there are many eccentric abnormalities such as a no input DJ mixer, a microtonal trumpet playing though a Metal Zone Pedal, and some knarly organ riffs on the last section.
