EDIT 6/1/2026:
We know the transition to the City of Plano’s new utility payment portal has been bumpy for some customers, and we appreciate your patience as we continue working through the rollout.
If you still need help, our team is ready to assist you with registering your account, enrolling in AutoPay or unenrolling in paperless billing:
The new portal will also bring additional customer tools and features in the months ahead, including the ability to track water usage and receive alerts for unusual consumption or possible leaks.
Thank you for your continued patience as we improve the utility customer experience.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
For customers using the One Time Pay option, no registration is required. However, if you’d like to start using or have previously used AutoPay, you must re-register using your 6-digit Account Number in the new payment portal and then re-enroll in AutoPay. Your account number can be found at the top of your water bill. Payment is not required during registration.
To register your account in the new payment portal system and enroll in AutoPay:
For instructions with images, go to share.plano.gov/UtilityBillRefresh.
For assistance or to locate your account number, use the new live chat feature located in the lower right corner of Plano.gov/WaterBill or contact Customer Utility Services at 972-941-7105 to discuss your account. Agents are available Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 4 pm.
Due to higher-than-average call volumes, a callback may be offered. After confirming a phone number, your call is placed in the order as received. You will not lose your place in line, and an agent will call you back the same day.
Between April 20 and May 3, customers who enroll in AutoPay or Paperless Billing will be entered into a prize contest:

AC works fine year round. Clean outside units. New filters monthly. Maintained consistently. No short cycling. Typical delta is 18-20 degrees from intake to air registers. I checked my thermostat history from last year and we didn't have any days where it struggled to keep up, but we also didn't really have days quite as hot as yesterday...
It did cool down once the sun went down. Just trying not to stress about the next week plus of severe heat....

We have been taking my son to walk at willow bend but it’s about 20 minutes, however it’s pretty empty everyday which we like. Is there anything similar in south Plano closer to 75 & PGBT / Canyon Creek area that we could check out?

Hi there! I’m purchasing a home in Plano and it has popcorn ceilings that I’d like removed, smoothed out, and painted. Anyone have any experience with this with local contractors? Any Plano companies that you’d recommend (or not recommend😬)? I would love to find someone local to support. Thanks in advance!

Hi Plano family! Not sure if this is the right forum, but need urgent recommendations for an excellent Endocrinologist in Plano area for my husband. He was recently diagnosed with diabetes. We are eager to manage it before it gets worse. Please suggest doctors or point me in the right direction! As always, thank you very much in advance 😊

I’m coming to Plano for the first time this weekend and looking for things to do and places I need to try. Y’all have any good recommendations? I will say it is my bday Monday so I definitely want to do something fun that day.

Trying to budget for bi weekly help because commuting on the tollway every day leaves me exhausted. I searched for an affordable cleaning service near me and quotes are literally all over the map from $90 cash to over $300. I want a quality house cleaning service near me that actually background checks their team but I don't want to get ripped off. What are y’all currently paying around here?
Hey guys, I just recently moved to plano and adopted a kitten! If anyone knows any good vets in the area they can recommend, that would be great.
Just checking to see how your HVAC systems are running in this heat. I have a 2800sqft single level house. My system is running nonstop during the day. We have the temp set for 76. The system will run nonstop and It will slowly creep up to 78-79 degrees and run all day. As the temps cool the system will slowly cool the house down about 1 degree per hour. In the evening we set it to 74 and it eventually gets there around 11pm and cycles on/off as normal.
Is this normal? Or are your units able to get your home temps lower during the day without running nonstop?

Does anyone know a decent tenant rights lawyer local to the DFW area who takes clients in Plano? I am currently going through major issues with my apartment complex and would like to see if it's possible to terminate the lease early without penalty.

I've got a storm drain behind the house that periodically gets clogged with debris and for the last 8 years I've cleared it myself. Well it had been a while since I was able to get out there, and with all the rain this year the drain was under 4-5 inches of mud. I just uploaded a picture to the app and gave them the location, they had it cleared within 4 hours.
I've used the app twice now and both times it was handled quickly, great job u/CityofPlano

I live near the old Collin Creek Mall area and my electric bill is skyrocketing near $700. We have a new contract starting next month, but I was curious what others in the area are paying.

hi! sorry for the bad pic - what are these cameras theyre installing? on alma and legacy. they don't look like flock cameras but look too fancy to be a normal red light cam.
Had a slow drain in my kitchen sink and had Drain Doctor come out to unclog it which they did (Via cleanout). Unfortunately, it looks like there's a break in the line about 5 feet down that will need to get repaired. I'm looking around and it seems like Plano Plumbing and Leak Detection is a solid option but wanted to see if there were any other recommendations from folks. Also hoping this isn't going to be toooo expensive since it's not that far down (according to the Drain Doctor tech). Thanks!

This is my first pregnancy and we just moved here. Hoping to save our PTO for post delivery. Does anyone have any recommendations for an OBGYN that accepts appointments on Saturdays?

I have been seeing my water bills creep up since the start of the year. I do realize that an 8% increase went into effect last October but the increase over the last few months has been substantial.
Comparing my usage this July vs July 2025 - I have used 5000 gallons less this year yet my bill is 2.5 times higher than what I paid last year. Since the usage is less I don't think there is a leak issue. I plan to call the city about it but does anyone have a similar experience and know why it is this high?
