Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Is this rejecting or just pissed??

Post image
Upvotes

I low-key got this piercing impulsively without fully researching the healing process. I have always wanted one but I didn't recognize the care and healing that went into getting one. It has been snagged a few times, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is just bruising. I also took the current picture after I had cleaned it. It's just that there's so much bar hanging loose, if that's just how it is after swelling goes down ok, but is it rejecting or am I freaking out over nothing?

I can touch the red area and it doesn't hurt. I did have some egg white puss/discharge for a couple weeks prior. And when I accidentally snagged it on my desk it was bleeding a small amount 🥲 and that did hurt like a bitch. I've been using a shot glass and soaking it for 5-10 mins in diluted saline solution or antibacterial soap, ideally twice a day. Any info or suggestions would be great!

Question about a piercing I (maybe) want Smiley piercing

Hii, would a smiley be good for a first facial piercing? I've heard it doesn't hurt that much, tho it damages your teeth and it's very temporary. Can anyone share their experience?

This dude has a trillion ear hoops which I managed to find, however I can’t seem to find a temporary (what looks like) vertical industrial piercing, and I am also having trouble finding what to stick on my nose. Any suggestions welcome, thanks!

(This has been posted about before but looking through those posts I didn’t find much as far as temporary piercings go)

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Should I take my navel piercing out?

The piercing is two years old now but it seems to be constantly irritated and leaking tissue fluid. I also think it was pierced wrong as the barbell is barely hanging on. I clean it twice a day with warm water.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Nose piercing bump/2 month old/ gold ring

So I switched to a ring about 2 months after getting my piercing. I know I probably should’ve waited longer. 😭

I got a tiny irritation bump at first, but it went away after using saline. However, this little red area is still there. Is this still considered a bump, or is it something that will go away with time?

Also, I can barely move the ring right now. Did the piercing hole shrink around it, or is this normal while it’s healing?

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Extra long bar with acrylic ball.

Hey yall!

I got a belly button piercing almost two weeks ago, I had a short post in so it started to embed around the top ball. My piercer switched me to a long post with an acrylic top ball two days ago. Im worried about having the acrylic ball on my piercing as ive heard that acrylic is bad for new piercings.

Should I wait until the top hole closes around the post to change the top ball or should I change it now?

I do have a bit of mechanical irritation right around the top hole from sweat and activity but no spreading redness and no pain beyond the entry and exit holes- an achy, pinchy kind of pain and only sometimes.

For reference the first picture is directly after flushing after sweating and the second (right) is what is looks like clean with no sweat/mechanical irritation. All I do to it is flush with neildmed or the target brand saline solution (I ran out of nielmed and had no other choice) after heavy sweating or before bed. Otherwise I rinse with plain water in the shower and nothing else.

The piercing is very new about 11 days old now with it being switched to a long bar by my piercer two days ago.

I forgot to add i had a previous piercing that was too close to the surface and rejected. I also had two babies since lol. That weird x shape is the scar tissue from 7 years ago TIA!!

I got my forward helix about 2 months ago. It was done with the hoop in it which I know now is a no-no 😪 Everything was good up until the last week or so. Now I get crusty bits every day and I have a horrible irritation bump in the front. Should I take it out or wait it out?

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Does this look normal?

all things jewelry I hate threadless jewelry

I know it’s highly recommended and the gold standard and whatever and I use it but it suuuuucks. Sucks to remove, sucks to put back in. I haaate when I order a threadless piece and the pin is pre-bent because then I have to unbend it just to be able to insert or remove it from my bars 😭.

Signed, someone that just replaced their high nostril jewelry and had to straighten pins.

Edit to clarify: the SLIGHTEST bend is okay but I find the pre-bent pins are at too severe of an angle and are just so mfn hard to insert or remove. I know they’re ~supposed~ to be bent and I’ve never had an issue with losing my tops or having any unwanted movement/looseness. I’d really rather not struggle w my finger up my nose to stabilize the already slimy post enough to shove the pin into it). Yes I have a threadless taper, forceps, and a little grabby tool thing (which honestly is kind of useless bc it is too weak and big to remove the tops so I just use my fingies). Just here complaining because I’m annoyed with a recent purchase sorry 😭

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing How do I get rid of the big bump on my right earlobe?

Hi guys! I tried really hard to get good pictures so I hope you’ll excuse the quality.

I got my earlobes done almost 4 years ago, both healed fine and I kept a few different pairs of small silver hoops in almost 24/7 after they healed. About two months ago, my right one got snagged on some fabric which hurt but it felt fine until I got a huge bump that grew over the next few weeks, big enough for the hoops to be uncomfortable so I went no jewelry for a few weeks.

A month ago, I went to my piercer and she said it was an irritation bump and poked a tiny hole in it to drain fluid (lots of blood, tiny bit of puss, gross) and put in a stud with a detachable back for it to heal in. I do the same thing I did to get it to heal initially, use 0.9% saline wound wash from Walmart twice a day (usually after I wake up/before I shower and an hour or so before bed) since then. I dont move the jewelry or anything as I do it. I lightly pat it with a clean towel to dry it off. I also do my best to not sleep on that side, but sometimes I do accidentally roll over before I catch myself. She recommended me to use hibiclens on it every other day which I did for a week, but I found it caused some irritation so I stopped. The bump stayed really small for a couple weeks but it’s grown back to the same size again. It doesn’t even really hurt is the weird thing, maybe a little bit of irritation at night but it’s not bad, and it’s only so inflamed on the back side. I hate it and want it to go away bad but I don’t know what to do!

The weirdest part to me is that my helix on the right side also has a bump which refuses to go away, while my lobes, helix, and nose piercing on my left side have never had any sort of issues. I’ve been wondering if my hair products could be hurting it too. No clue at this point

I appreciate any help and again apologize for the pictures. Horrible spot to try and take a picture of!!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing am i cooked?

piercing is a little over 4 months old, and it was healing perfectly until i snagged it very hard a few weeks ago. you can’t really tell from the picture, but the irritation bump is beside the piercing and not directly in it if that makes sense. i’ve been trying to leave it tf alone, and i just switched to h2ocean instead of the wound wash i had because i know h2ocean works & it’s all i used in the past, just not available most places where i live now. probably looks nastier than usual because i just sprayed it and am not picking the scabs off. i really want to keep this piercing so if its bad news give it to me gently 💔 i have about 15 other piercings and ive never had an issue healing any of them 😪

Im looking to upgrade my earstack with some sparkles. i want to get two sparkly hinge rings for my daith and my conch. And also several flatback 2-3mm studs for lobes and helixes.
Im wondering which stone is worth it in your opinion. Should i get the real diamonds for the studs or the rings?

all things jewelry Gold septum jewelry?

Guys can someone please tell me a GOOD high quality place to order a gold septum horseshoe 🥲 I’ve been struggling the past few months since getting my septum to find a trusted place that’s not just ordering randomly on Amazon for a gold horseshoe. I’m really afraid of infection/irritation from metals as well as dull looking gold jewelry. Please help me out!!! My current septum is silver with gold balls but the gold is like rubbing off the balls so it’s time for me to buy a new one!! (Looking for not real gold, something affordable)

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing It keeps growing

Post image

My lump on my eyebrow keeps growing. I got it pierced with a titanium barbell in January and downsized in march. It’s internally threaded too.

This lump started forming in may and oozes puss out of it and the piercing holes when I touch. It’s soft as well. I used the basic spray that they sell at skin kandy and avoid putting makeup on it.

I’ve tried warm compress, popping it, and leaving alone, nothing is working. It came out of no where and hasn’t had any significant snags.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Can't find any info, has anyone experienced similar?

I wish I took pictures yesterday when I had a "flare up" but I sadly did not. Anyways a little backstory- I got a regular old cartilage peircing in early highschool. Well I worked at a deli (that has a hot case). While I was cleaning it out my earing got caught on part of the case and ripped out my peircing. There was a small white thing coming out of the hole but stupidly I didn't get it checked out by my doctor. The white thing dried and I cut it off (IK💀😭 ). It healed up (no jewelry) but it gave me constant issues for a few years (like sensitivity/uncomfortable stingy feeling). Then eventually it just stopped hurting and being uncomfy. Yesterday it all of a sudden hurt when I woke up. The little bump that was there was now bigger and was angry. It was sensitive, red around it and like dull pain/stung. It was pretty annoying but now today it's back to being fine. Has anyone experienced similar and would it be worth getting it even checked out after all these years? I feel like the damage has been done and they probably can't do anything about it but I thought I would ask. Thanks!

Set up advice Just got my dahlias.. I don’t like them.

Now, this might be the worst question yet on here. But basically I just got them done, the placement isn’t the worst but the ball is too big and I wanted them in a 12g but they did it in 16g because he felt inside my mouth and just checked to see if he had jewelry that would go all the way through. He had his license and I did a LOT of research before I did them but I just kinda fucked up because my dad who hates piercings was watching the whole time and I just accepted my fate with whatever happened. He wasn’t a weird ass dude but had no piercings himself but he said he has done quite a phew dahlias So I trusted it.. now, I really wanna change them and I was wondering if I could do a 12g right now n not wait a month. The placement of course I can’t change, but I know I’m gonna want to order the 12g because I know 16g is not good to get pierced with. Just let me know what I can do please or atleast HOW it will go if I do a 12g today.
