General PSA: Try not to be sick, injured, or dying in Perth this afternoon.

Current wait time at Fiona Stanley ED: 7 hours 45 minutes.

ps. We need a resource tax.

Edit: a lot of assumptions made in the comments here. There are a lot of sick and elderly people in this waiting lounge who deserve a better standard of care than this.
Stay safe all šŸ’œ

Where to find Safe places to sleep around perth NOR as a homeless female in her car

pretty much as the title said. Had a bad domestic situation involving police and voilence. I am currently staying on my friends couch but today is the third day and I already feel as though I'm overstepping. I'm just asking if anyone knows somewhere safe to park your car at night to sleep in? Im a young female so im scared of break ins/crime etc.

I've just moved back from another country so have no sick leave or other family members i can call on right now. Ive looked at homeless shelters but it seems like theyre already full to the brim.

Bonus points of anyone has any places I can shower, I am working currently so could afford a day pass if needed.

Thanks in advance y'all - never, ever thought i'd be the person typing this post or going through this. Life really is brutal and does not discriminate.

Looking for Advice Drove for a month with only one wheel bolt after having four tyres replaced at mycar Harrisdale

Post image

I’m looking for advice regarding a serious tyre-fitting incident involving mycar Harrisdale in Western Australia.

On 17 June 2026, I had all four tyres replaced, balanced and a wheel alignment completed at this branch.

Approximately one month later, I discovered that one wheel had four of its five wheel bolts missing. Only the locking wheel bolt remained. I had unknowingly been driving the vehicle normally during that period, including commuting to work and carrying my partner and colleagues.

I returned the vehicle to mycar Harrisdale. The branch installed four replacement wheel bolts, but I was not provided with a new invoice, job sheet, inspection report or written record of the work performed.

During the discussion, Gary told me that because I returned approximately one month later, there was no warranty, and that the branch had already ā€œabsorbedā€ the cost of the replacement bolts.

I found that response extremely concerning. My complaint was not about tyre wear or the 30-day tyre satisfaction guarantee. It concerned four wheel bolts being found missing following a service in which all four wheels had been removed and refitted.

I am now seeking an independent inspection of the affected wheel, bolt seats, hub threads, wheel bearing and wheel/hub run-out. I am also considering lodging a formal complaint with mycar Head Office and WA Consumer Protection.

Has anyone experienced something similar with mycar or another Australian tyre shop? Should the business cover the independent inspection and any resulting repairs?

I will update the post if mycar Head Office provides a formal response.

I know that missing animals aren’t typically posted here but I’m hoping that if lots of people see her she’s more likely to be caught. She went missing from ferndale around 2/2:30pm on tuesdsy July 21st from around kinlock avenue. She won’t respond to her name but she may respond to hello and land on your head if you are patient. She is a rescue.

Burner account so if no response right away please keep trying but I will be monitoring this post as much as I can.

EDIT: she was caught and taken to a wildlife centre thank you everyones help and advice

That concept picture really looks like someone went nuts in Cities: Skyline and put down as many cargo ports as possible.

Looking for Advice Odyssey in 4DX screen?

Hey,Ā

I've seen The Odyssey once (in IMAX) and apart from recommending ear plugs, really enjoyed it. My wife is now keen to see it again in the 4DX screen at Innaloo. Has anyone been?
Curious as to weather the seats and action add's to the experience, or weather its just a gimmick and feels like sitting in a fairground rollercoaster getting bashed about...

General What's with the blue trees in Perth?

• Upvotes

I catch public transport alot and I've noticed trees painted sky blue, it seems to be mostly golf courses that have this one completely pruned tree with the same paint on it, but I also noticed one outside of a tennis court, is there a specific reason for the blue trees? I can't imagine its one person going around pruning trees and painting them bright blue

EDIT: thanks for the answers everyone! that awareness campaign clearly worked as intended lmao, to be fair I could've looked this up but I genuinely thought it was some kind of niche conservation thing or something along those lines, cool to see a mental health awareness campaign work so well at least against me aha

Looking for Advice Looking for advice on casual/part time in perth

I'm 19 years old and currently working part time as an all rounder at a cafe which is quite demanding but for 21.82/hr is this decent or are there better opportunities? I don't know what to feel about quitting since I've only started for a while and I don't know if this is just a bad coincidence or I'm the problem since my previous job also was really bad.

General Perth Crane Operators - educate me

I was just standing at Cockburn Central train station, where there is high-rise construction going on nearby. I was admiring the highly skilled operators of two cranes as they moved stuff around.

It led me to wonder: how does one become a crane operator? How do they move those giant monstrosities into and out of position? What do you do if you’re up there in the box and you need to pee? How do you navigate a windy day or difficult conditions?

If anyone can share any knowledge, I’d be grateful.

Renting / Housing Shower head leakage and agent/owner is ignoring our emails

Hey guys, we have a leaky shower head and we've reported it to the agent like 4 weeks ago and they've completely ignored it. The water bill will be beyond our normal $30 usage this time. Is there a way we can escalate this matter so that they can send in a plumber and fix it? I spoke to a plumber mate of mine and he reckons it's an expensive job , is that why they're ignore it?

Seen from Zig Zag Scenic Drive. The air was hazy so the city looks desaturated. I might take a photo from the same spot every year and report back in 2030.

General Mountain biking in Perth

Hey all, I recently came into the possession of a mountain bike that someone kindly gave to me. I was wondering if anyone else on here mountain bikes and would be keen to go riding together?

I've done kalamunda a few times with a loan bike and enjoyed it but am a total beginner when it comes to owning my own bike.

Where to find Help. Flight tmr. Less than 6 months valid passport

Traveling to Thailand for a 5 days trip tmr. I haven’t traveled in 4 years. So my friend has booked our trip with Jetstar. Just realised that my passport is expiring in 4 months today. Gosh I am so stressed and angry at myself for not being mindful. Has anyone been allowed to board in under such circumstances?

Update: I gave it a shot guys. Went to the airport. Came back home crying not bc I was denied but bc I was embarrassed. I was holding up a long queue sorting out my details I am sure the check-in agents gave me a side eye or two for being a dumbass. Haha Always checking my passport’s validity before planning any trip in the future. It was a good lesson. Thank you my amigos :)

Looking for Advice Perth NBN/Internet prices, what are you paying?

I have had another price increase to my NBN/internet effective from next month to $91. Is this an average price for Perth?

I am with Belong and have had no issues (so far) with the service and I'm probably going on 10 years, if not more.

Looking for Advice Halp. Swan valley spas 1/8.

Halp.

Trying to do something special for someone I've kinda fked things up with.

Gonna put my year's savings on the line and go all out.

Stay in swan valley (which is my favoite place in this state)

Wanting to baloon in northam and then run all the way to yanchep to do some ziplines then run back to swan valley for a spa thing before dinner in the valley.

--> Can anyone suggest any spas in the valley area as the go-to's (Swan Valley Retreat & Amaroo) are booked out.

Thanks in advance.
