Few months ago, we moved from Nottingham to Glasgow because of work, and even though life here has been good, I still catch myself missing Nottingham a lot. I spent 4 years there, and those years really left a mark on me. Every now and then, random flashes of the city pop into my mind — certain streets, familiar corners, places I used to pass without thinking — and it hits me with that warm, nostalgic feeling.

I genuinely love that city to bits. From West Bridgford’s calm, leafy vibes to the buzz of the City Centre, from Bulwell to NG2 business park, all the way up to Rise Park — every part of it has its own charm. The energy there is something else… young people everywhere, lively atmosphere, just this constant sense of movement and positivity.

It’s wild how a place can stick with you like that. Even now, the images come flooding back all the time. Nottingham will always feel like home in a way.

I’ve planned a lunch with friends in Hockley on Saturday (table booked for 12pm) and was planning on going for coffee somewhere beforehand and dessert somewhere else afterwards. I now realise that it’s Pride 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️, so I’m wondering if it’s going to be too busy to do that?

I know from friends who go to Pride in other cities that often ppl stay in the bars rather than going to the organised event. Is Nottingham the same?

I’m more than happy to join in the fun, but not if it’s going to be absolutely mobbed!

I have a perfectly good working chromebook that I no longer need or want. I was going to sell it on Vinted but decided to just donate it instead as they only seem to go for about £30-£50 and I don't have a camera to take pictures of it for the listing and i'd be happy for it to go to someone who actually needs it.

I considered just dropping it off at a charity shop so the profits would benefit a charity but then the chromebook itself could be bought by a student or someone with expendable cash and I'd really prefer it go to a family that has nothing where it would change their circumstances a little or give a poor child a resource to study with or something along those lines.

I'm meeting a friend on Friday and we plan to co-work for 4-5 hours (we both work remotely), can anyone recommend anywhere suitable?

I've heard of people co-working from Wetherspoons elsewhere but not sure if there's any decent WiFi/mobile data in any of them!

Such as basketball, tabletennis, hockey, futsal or tag rugby? I'm open to others, those are just the ones I'm interested in.

Please let me know if you know of any friendly and welcoming groups for the above sports that are open to new joiners.

Would be greatful if you could include days and times if possible.

As an aside also looking for a Mens Adults Sunday league team, preferably within 20 mins drive of City centre.

Update: she has been found and it’s not the outcome any of us were wanting. We are absolutely devastated.

So me and some others will be in Nottingham in November and will be there for bonfire night. We've taken a quick look and it doesn't look as though there are any particular events on the night for it. Anyone know of anything that I've missed or is there just no large firework displays?

my only assumption was, (and I'm likely wrong) that they thought it wasn't a legitimate reason I could back up when they said I needed to provide proof, so when the uni of notts wrote a length letter evidencing police involvement, (thanks to UON staff) and my doctor backed it up too (I was in a hospital unit) they just stopped replying, I chased it 3 times and then just gave up due to discouragement.

It's a few years later and my lifes in a good place, can you help?

i have really procrastinated booking a graduation dinner for next week. i’ve done lots of google searches but it’s only coming up with pubs and i’m not the biggest fan of pub food so would rather avoid that if i can. i need to book a table for 9 people, and 2 dogs will be with us. Two of us are vegetarians as well. I’ve been here for uni for 3 years, but these are family dogs so I don’t have much knowledge about where will allow them. Would really appreciate if anyone knows of any good spots (preferable in the city centre, but close drivable locations will do too).
