Dumped my clutch in second gear thinking I was in first to attempt a wheelie now the bike makes this sound when revving, clutch pulled in or not. Also notable loss of power in the bike. Checked front sprocket, all good. Next thought is the CCT… any thoughts.

If there's one bike you want to keep forever, would it be R7 or ZX4R?

2007 GSX-R1000 loud grinding/whining noise during startup only

Hey everyone, I have a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R1000 that’s making a loud grinding/whining noise only while the bike is in the process of starting. As soon as the engine fires up, the noise disappears and the bike runs normally.
It’s much louder on a cold start, especially if the bike has been sitting for a couple of days. If I restart it after it’s warm, the noise is much quieter or sometimes barely noticeable.
The bike starts every time and runs fine otherwise. I’ve already replaced the spark plugs, but the startup noise is still there.
Does this sound like a bad starter motor, starter clutch, starter gears, or something else? Has anyone experienced this before?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

best beginner motorcycle?

i’m 18 years old, male and about 5’8 ish and i’m looking to get my first motorcycle that i’ll actually ride.
i have a suzuki boulevard very similar to the savage but it just seems to be too heavy for me and such an awkward seating position to learn on.
i’ve ridden dirtbikes and fourwheelers all my life, i can ride them decently although my clutch skills aren’t the best and i know riding real motorcycles on the road is a lot different than dirtbikes.
i’ve had my eyes on a honda cbr300r or something small along those lines but preferably not a grom or a clone, so what’s the best motorcycle to buy and learn on?
edit: my budget is around 4.5k-5k usd, i’ve also had my eyes on a few r3’s and mt03’s, im not really interested in bobber/chopper type motorcycles because im more of a sport bike type kid.
i also plan on going a road trip once i get a motorcycle, before i do so i’ll obviously get fully comfortable on the bike, learn the rules of the road on bikes and also learn to watch for stupid people.
i know going on a road trip on a sport bike isn’t the smartest and probably won’t be too good on my back but im all up for a road trip.
any beginner tips, beginner motorcycle recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Looking for recommendations

Hey bike fam. I have been riding since I was 18, so about 20 years, and I’m looking for something that is still fun when I want to lean, but can do some miles. The only bike in my garage right now is also my first bike, a 2006 sv650s that I have put about 30k miles on and I don’t think I will ever part with. Others have come and gone, but the SV is forever. Unfortunately, also gone are the days where my body can handle endless miles bent over reaching for those clip ons. I have been fortunate enough to ride many different types of bikes (sports, cruisers, advs, etc) but nothing that exactly fits what I’m looking for. i want to find something comfortable but still somewhat sporty, and that I don’t have to sell a kidney to afford. It will be 99% solo riding as my wife mostly enjoys four wheels.

I really like the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, but haven’t gotten in the saddle as of yet. Does anyone have experience with that model or any suggestions for something that might fit the bill? Thanks

Stay safe

Was driving just now in Placentia CA and drove past a wreck. Major road with a 50mph speed limit. Looks like a car turned left in front of the bike. No idea who was at fault but either way they had the whole street blocked off with police vehicles, crime scene tape and a rider was under a blanket while his totaled bike was 75 yards down the road, shoes on the opposite lanes of traffic as investigators took photos. Keep your eyes open and stay safe out there. RIP to the rider who passed.

Hi, I've come into some cash and looking to buy a bike 10k or under. Open to anything. I currently have

2004 custom chopper with 117 motor

1983 harley davidson fxr shovelhead

2009 bmw r1200gs with 80k miles

Part of me says replace the bmw with like a 2017 but I love the bike and I just repaired the shaft drive. I'm open to anything even a duplicate of what I have. It's a sickness when you start stockpiling bikes!

Chain

Hey guys another quick one.
Got a new chain and sprockets, tightened to the factory spec and everything, i do hear some noice coming from the chain while riding, when i move my leg i can hear the sound coming from it either when on the gas or of the cas just slightly less when im off the gas, is that normal? Kinda have the feeling like the sound is coming from the chain running over the slider. (Alltho shouldnt the chain touch the slider only when it gets loose?)

The bike in question is Yamaha XJ6.
Thanks.
