Should I get my first BMW bike or am I not ready

So I am a 24(f) and currently making close to 19 LPA (in INR so close to 18K in dollars). I have had my eyes set on BMW 310RR for the longest time and is one of my dream bikes. I felt that with my current salary, it will be a good investment or at the very least justified.

However, I am seeing a bunch of people telling me not to got for it. Either I dont earn that much to compensate for it. Or it will be a long term burden for me and I should get some other bike instead.

Wanted to know y'alls thoughts, Should I go for it or not?

Help me choose a 4th motorcycle

Hi, I've come into some cash and looking to buy a bike 10k or under. Open to anything. I currently have

2004 custom chopper with 117 motor

1983 harley davidson fxr shovelhead

2009 bmw r1200gs with 80k miles

Part of me says replace the bmw with like a 2017 but I love the bike and I just repaired the shaft drive. I'm open to anything even a duplicate of what I have. It's a sickness when you start stockpiling bikes!

best beginner motorcycle?

i’m 18 years old, male and about 5’8 ish and i’m looking to get my first motorcycle that i’ll actually ride.
i have a suzuki boulevard very similar to the savage but it just seems to be too heavy for me and such an awkward seating position to learn on.
i’ve ridden dirtbikes and fourwheelers all my life, i can ride them decently although my clutch skills aren’t the best and i know riding real motorcycles on the road is a lot different than dirtbikes.
i’ve had my eyes on a honda cbr300 or something small along those lines but preferably not a grom or a clone, so what’s the best motorcycle to buy and learn on?

Suggestions for beginner bikes to teach my 15 year old to ride.

My boyfriend wants to teach my daughter to ride. He tried instructing her on a kawasaki KLX but she said it "felt too tall" and in the end felt discouraged. He insists its a good beginner bike (his dad disagrees).

Coincidentally I felt the same way about the same bike and ended up crashing it into his barnyard fence at about 5 mph via whisky throttle.

Any input would be great, thanks in advance.

Can anything be done about these scratches?

Can they be buffed out, or something like that? This wasn't from a crash. I accidentally scraped it on a concrete wall while I was carrying it.

How can I convince my mom to let me drive a motorcycle

I learned driving for about 3 weeks with no problem but every time I go out we get into a fight, she tends to win the argument. I don't understand her, I have proper gear, I passed the MSF course (permission from my dad), all I need is a license which I can get when I'm 16 which I'm turning into in 2 weeks.

Stay safe

Was driving just now in Placentia CA and drove past a wreck. Major road with a 50mph speed limit. Looks like a car turned left in front of the bike. No idea who was at fault but either way they had the whole street blocked off with police vehicles, crime scene tape and a rider was under a blanket while his totaled bike was 75 yards down the road, shoes on the opposite lanes of traffic as investigators took photos. Keep your eyes open and stay safe out there. RIP to the rider who passed.

We’re planning to purchase an nmax in wheeltek dasma. What’s your experience with the after sales and processing of or/cr and plate?

The strong urge to get a bike

My love for bikes started after dirt biking in central america. Then grew my love for bikes, sport bikes, from watching them fly by me and making the rev it gesture to them lol

I really do want a bike, but then I see all these social media creators posting their crashes, some of them with life changing injuries, then there are the less fortunate that have passed away, r.i.p 🕊️
It’s scary, being the most vulnerable on the road

Then there’s other posts that I’ll see and I’ll see comments from different people talking about riding for over 10+, 20+, 30+, years and it makes me feel a little less on the edge

I can get a used bike easier than I could get a new car, which I can’t afford a new car which is why I want a bike. That’s what I can afford for the time being.

Like I mentioned at the start, the vulnerability scares me; how would I adapt to certain weather conditions on a bike? And there’s so much gear to look into. Then there’s the msf course, I don’t know. There’s just so much I need to research and thinking about this sends me into a spiral 🫩

I just want to really know all the pros and cons and if it’d be worth it or not.

Going on a 900 mile round trip for the first time need some advice

Post image
81 Upvotes

Kind of as the title explains, I’m going to be going on a 900-mile round-trip and just looking for any advice on what I should do to prepare before I leave. I’ve already had a full service on the bike a couple of days ago. I’m leaving Friday morning, and it’ll be my first long ride. I’ve ridden in town for almost a year now and put about 1200 miles on the bike in that time, gone on the highway quite a bit, but just never for this long. Pic of bike included (Ninja 500) just in case anyone is wondering what my highway time is like. I’ve been on the highway for 400 of the 1200 miles, but they are strictly old one-lane highways that weave through mountains. Any advice is much appreciated. 🙏🏼
