I am planning on starting a Marvel movie marathon before the release of Doomsday to rewatch all the major movies. I know there is a lot of movies to go through, but I am planning a movie night on Sundays and I only have 17 available Sundays before the movie releases. I had chat gpt make me a list of the 17 most important movies to watch before the release of Doomsday and here is what it gave me:

I wanted to get more feedback on what others think of this list and if anyone had better suggestions? I was a huge fan of the series, but couldn’t keep up with everything, but the new Avengers really got me back into it all!

Each shot looked to have no geographical layout that would aid in the storytelling aspects. Bleak. Obviously this is just what we can see from a trailer at the moment

I think they should adapt his origin as him coming' from other universe were Peter died.

Because I feel is essencial to his character and more interesting than the PS4's origin.

I think maybe apllying an opposed into the Spider-Verse, with Miles ending up in Peter's universe.

The only issue would be that would necessary be set post-multiverse saga, but honestly, I don't think should be a problem, because to me sound as an interesting idea that isn't just out of the nostalgia bait and also because multiverse is gonna be alive post-secret wars, to allow X-Men 97 and other projects outside the MCU to exist.

I have been thinking about the ending of Spider Man No Way Home and something still confuses me. Doctor Strange's spell makes everyone forget that Peter Parker exists, but how does that actually work in practice? If people completely forget Peter, what happens to every photo, video, security recording, news broadcast, school yearbook, social media post, and phone gallery that clearly shows his face? Do those files magically change, disappear, or become impossible for people to notice? What about Mysterio's public broadcast that revealed Peter as Spider Man? Does everyone still remember that Spider Man was exposed, but simply cannot remember who the person was, or is that entire event rewritten by the spell? If Peter appears in old group photos with MJ, Ned, or the Avengers, what do those images look like afterward? Is there any official explanation from Marvel, or is this one of those story elements that fans are expected to accept without questioning too deeply?

Of course not done yet, still have to model out the lamps and do some of the lighting. Let me know if you have any feedback!

So I’ve watched all of the movies in MCU Phase 1, 2 and 3 (Iron Man 1 -> Far From Home), and from Phase 4 I’ve only seen Black Widow, Wakanda Forever, and No Way Home. I’ve also watched all of the X-Men cinematic universe MINUS Deadpool 1 2 and 3. I’ve also seen the 2005 and 2007 Fantastic 4 films but I don’t know if they have relevance to Doomsday. I haven’t seen any Marvel tv shows as I’ve never had Disney+.

What would be my catch-up plan before Doomsday? I’m not a huge fan of tv shows in general as I struggle to consistently carve out time in my day to watch them. Which tv shows do I HAVE to watch? Are there any YouTube channels that are doing recaps that I can watch instead? Or is it absolutely essential I watch every episode in full?

In town for SDCC. Walked out of my hotel to see the various off-sites and just a block away I noticed the Archway at the Gaslamp district was covered up. To my recollection, it’s the first time in SDCC’s history that the archway is completely covered during comic con.

In years past Marvel Studios movies has only advertised on the streetlight banners during SDCC. This year is different with the addition of the archway transformation and possibly more? Also noticed a bunch of TVs which might be running the initial trailer of Doomsday on a non-stop loop during the duration of the con. This got me hyped for Hall H on Saturday.

WB & Disney not folding on release date, so DUNESDAY is coming 12.18

I am in California hopeing to see it in the galleria mall and currently the only time is 6:30pm besides on the day it releaes which is 1:00 pm and ofc that’s sold out so does anybody know when more times will come out

I’ve been following the MCU since the beginning. I’ve also seen the X-Men movies and original F4 movies.

Was discussing some of the older movies and shows with a friend. We’re trying to figure out which of these are optional and which are “must watch”.

Curious what the communities thoughts are?
My opinion is most of these are optional/not required to enjoy the Marvel Movies. For example, Deadpool vs Wolverine is enjoyed without some of them.

Also, I haven’t seen Daredevil Born again yet. Is the Defenders Saga must watch before this show or can I go in blind?

Marvel may be to dumb for it tho 😭

There seems to be this assumption that the only way the MCU can make sense moving forward with the X-Men and Fantastic Four under the same banner is with a universal convergence.

But they've already shown us why this isn't necessary.

1. Mutants are already in the MCU. They've been planting those seeds for years now. And they're about to debut one of the biggest mutants in a couple of weeks.
2. The Fantastic Four have already come to 616 ahead of their showdown with Doom. So why do their universes need to merge if they already freely travel between universes?

I just don't see the point.

For the X-Men, why throw away the chance to show us what happens to this society when suddenly the mutant population booms, and instead opt to just pretend like that's how the world has always been? How is that a better story? We've been waiting 20 years to find out how they make it work. And just when they're about to pull it off people want to pull the plug? Why?

"Some things pre-Secret Wars are still canon. But some things are no longer canon. Also there's new history but it's merged with the old history."

How is that idea an easier sell to casual or lapsed audiences than just naturally booming the mutant population (which they're already doing) and having the Fantastic Four set up a home away from home?

And wouldn't it be a massive spoiler on Feige's part if we took his comments about a "reset" literally? That would be like if he explicitly told us how Endgame ended in 2017.

Isn't the more likely scenario that Feige isn't spoiling the ending and is instead referring to how they will go back to making these movies like in the early days of the MCU? Like how when you reset your phone it goes back to factory settings i.e. going back to how it originally functioned?

My most favorite movie was probably guardians of the galaxy 3. It wraps the trilogy pretty well and it is by far the best thing marvel made after endgame except the spiderman movies.

My least favorite was thor love and thunder by far. I haven't seen the marvels and it's got a lot of hate but taika completely butchered thor and made him a clown.

I like what he did in Ragnarok making thor more witty and likeable instead of a brute npc but he went way overboard in the next movie. The terrible cgi and wasting gorr's character. Especially when someone like Christian Bale played him.

The moment Loki looked at his old TVA badge, I couldn't help but think about everything he's been through. It wasn't just a reminder of his incredible journey - it instantly made me think about Thor.

These two have one of the most emotional relationships in the MCU. They've been brothers, enemies, allies, and family who kept finding each other despite every betrayal and every loss. The last time Thor saw Loki, he believed he had lost him forever. Since then, Loki has become someone completely different, sacrificing everything to protect the multiverse.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this one scene, but that TVA badge felt like more than just a callback. It made me hope that Avengers: Doomsday could finally give us the reunion between Thor and Loki that fans have been waiting years to see.

If that moment happens, I genuinely think it could become one of the most emotional scenes in MCU history.

What if Monica or Carole not being shown in the trailers means they may play a bigger role in the movie then we think? It’s very possible Monica has a role in helping but it has not been shown yet.

Like since Black Panther it's now underwater folks? Ok, add to Eternity, Celestials, Gods, and that's just in space. Now it's underwater folk on earth.

I just feel like it's too much? Too many things. Too confusing how, where, why what, etc.

I also think when they showed the public in Avengers at the end act it was great, but you rarely see that since. You don't get a sense that it's in a living, breathing world (and no, people running away, and cars and what not aren't the same as seeing more heros on talk shows and social media). Dare I say it, I wanted to see more elements like we see on The Boys and I think it would have grounded it. Unfortunately, films like End Game end up being pretty empty.

I am quite disappointed of how they handled Thor here again, why is he still being used as a measuring stick? We have done that already in infinity war. "Look even Thor are no match of our new bad guy, fear him"

And what makes that worse is that he is once again giving him his mjolnir like it is for the streets, mjolnir is a huge part of thors identity they really should treat it with more respect. Thor barely got any screen time dual wielding last time, it shouldn't really be a thing to be played with before Thor himself get a proper showing with mjolnir again.

Plus Canonically you cannot just claim mjolnir from his current owner even if your are worthy, having it ripped out of Thors hand like Thor has zero control is a huge disrespect to Thor.

Also when cap and rdj retired, they already had endgame dedicated to them, they really made the very next avengers movie about them again? That makes zero sense, when will they let other characters shine? Both Thor and hulk took a back seat in endgame, they boarder line got done dirty, and now this again. They are getting shit treatment even while being the OG character, the rest of the avengers will never be properly represented.

The writing is really bad, I was quite excited for the new avengers movie but I am left very annoyed again. Marvel really peaked at infinity war.

Can y'all help me which movies I need to watch before doomsday chronological wise it's fking scary seeing the list of every single Marvel movies to watch and will help me understand the plot

Until today and HOLY SHIT!!! Short backstory, I have undiagnosed adhd and have a hard time sitting thru long movies. If I see a movie is 2 hours I’m already questioning it. To always know that endgame was 3 hours I kept prolonging the watch.

While watching, it didn’t even feel like 3 hours. This movie had my attention the whole time which is rare and I usually have to rewind parts I wasn’t paying attention to. First Marvel movie to make me cry. Knowing that a new one is coming this year 2 days after my birthday is an amazing feeling. Man what a fkn masterpiece.

is it me or is anyone bothered by the scene from the trailer where doom stops stormbreaker with 2 fingers?????? i understand doom being this next level insane villan but maybe made the scene doom stop it with both of his arms. just makes thor look like no match.

Hiii guys, just wanna make sure I state im a super casual marvel fan. I haven’t read a single comic before and have dipped in and out of the MCU since endgame.

Given the new trailer for Doomsday, I was wondering if anyone could help me with some comics or other media to check out to know more about Doom? I was pretty salty when I saw him stop Thor so easily and got destroyed on instagram for calling it out 😂

The Beyonder will not be in Doomsday and Secret Wars because modern movies always have, for political reasons, a Red Villain - and with Doom, they don't have that red villain.
So, Doom has to have a Boss. A Red Villain Boss. Who is that red boss? Mephisto.
He's already been introduced in Ironheart (which is about a metal suit with magic runes in.
That was a test run for Mephisto's plan to manipulate Doom.) The reason why it's Mephisto and not Wanda is because it is inspired by Faust, the tragic story in which a man makes a deal with the devil only to be betrayed by him.
Newer films movies have moved onto having a Red Hero as well as a Red Villain who can help beat the red villain. So following that pattern, Wanda will vanquish Mephisto by rewriting the Multiverse in an House of M style twist and creating the new timeline built up around the X-Men and mutants. Except instead of wiping the mutants out, she makes them the central point of the new MCU (MC2?)
