I recently read the novel of M.T., so is there anything like M.T.? (Mushoko tensei)

Hi, it’s me, Ship Teaser! Well damn, better late than never, but it’s finally here! This one clocks in at a more… modest… lol… 34 hours, so once more, you get a nice long listen to enjoy some On Astral Tides goodness.

Anyway, I apologise for the delay, we had hoped April, but various issues cropped up which delayed things, but I believe it worth the wait. Book 2 is where the story really starts kicking into higher gear. It’s still got a detailed pace so you can enjoy progression, slice-of-life, battle and romance alike, but a lot happens over these thirteen days, a lot of trouble lol!

I see OAT as a Persona-like, in that the social aspects and levelling up the ‘party’ is just as important as the MC, and so is socialising, so we have a blend of combat, grinding, everyday life and politics, split over both our mundane world and the mysterious Astral world of the Boundary, where power in both worlds affects the other. And I think this volume brings out a lot of that. Time management too lol…

Anyway, if you’ve listened to Book 1, there’s more of the same and better in Book 2. Oh, and yeah, I do apologise for the mispronounced Japanese words in the first volume. The narrators have noted this, and I’ve added extra notes for this volume, so that should be fixed. And there’s talk of fixing that in Book 1, not sure if it’s done yet or will be done, but we’re all committed to making the product as good as we can be.

Oh, and for those of you after the waifu codes on Harem-lit.com, I got you. To celebrate we have a full Eri Mori collection, as she’s our cover girl here. It even has the cover variant *laughs* Aiko, her childhood friend alongside Akio, has a nickname for Eri, a play on her name and a famous Japanese term for an overly obsessed, possessive and sometimes dangerous woman… it’ll grant you a collection of Eri’s progress through the series, so it’s like a time capsule and a preview alike… plus some pretty cards lol.

If they’re a go, being a lot shorter than Books 1 and 2 (though still big for the genre) I’d expect, barring more unexpected issues, you could see them sooner than you’d think!

I'm just about to wrap up the 6th book of HWFWM and I've heard there is a slump for the next few books.

I've really enjoyed it so far, and love the start of the earth arc, but this last book (book 6) did really drag on with the transformation zones and spirit domains. It was rough going for a while.

I don't mind Jason's proselytising or attitude that much (seems to be the most common complaint) but the knowledge dumps and high levels of repetitive introspection have me second guessing if it's worth it.

What are the thoughts on continuing?

If I wrap up here I'd be moving on to either bog standard isekai, chrysalis, or a practical guide to evil

Sometimes the first book just grabs hold and you're all in. And maybe the series didn't keep your interest, but that first book is one you'll go back to time and again.

For me? Picking one is hard, honestly. But I'll say He Who Fights with Monsters. Book one sets up the world and establishes the characters so well.

It's been a while since I've had to do this with life being what it is. Between RL things, being a robotics coach, and raising my own mob of seven, soon to be eight, years now, I hope I haven't lost my touch.

Athos, Sally, Emily, and the gang are some of my oldest characters (outside of The Fatestayer and Mournsong who were first actually met in Somniums, the third book of the Apotheosis series despite having two novels written long before Incipere became reality), and have been waiting for another chance to hit the field.

Being honest, this series had a rough start, a rough middle, and a decent ending arc as far as I was concerned. I was a new author, didn't have much money for covers or editing, but I've learned a lot since then. Hey everyone! I just started reading The Wandering Inn, and I’m currently in the latter half of Volume 2. I’m absolutely loving it so far, and honestly, I don’t really understand the criticism Volume 1 gets—it completely hooked me from the beginning.

That said, I have a question for the longtime readers. I’m reading through the Kindle books, but I’ve seen a lot of people recommend the web serial instead. Am I missing out on anything important by sticking with Kindle? Were any scenes, chapters, or details cut or changed when the books were published?

I want to experience The Wandering Inn in the best way possible, so I’d love to hear what you all recommend. Is the Kindle version enough, or is the web serial the definitive experience? Thanks in advance—I’m really curious to hear everyone’s thoughts!

I’ve tried to listen to Armor by CB Titus but had a hard time getting into it, not this one though Penitant is like if A Soldiers life got mashed up with the anime A Promised Neverland and it’s phenomenal 10/10

I started reading "Loop Bound" by Alex Keys yesterday. I'm on book two now and loving it.

Basic overview. System apocalypse with OP MC starting in a tutorial setting.

Writing, pacing and world building is solid so far. Best part about it IMO is the characters. The author does a good job of fleshing them out. Mira is quickly becoming one of my all time favorites.

Hey does anyone know when the series is getting physical prints and where?

Or do they already exist elsewhere? I tried google searching but didn't come up with anything even on the publisher website.

I doubt its going to be printed on Amazon I think they have like a 830 page limit on POD and since its through a publisher, I would assume its going through ingram. 🤔

Alright, maybe I'm missing something. I just finished the first book and about halfway through the second, and I did try to go back through and skim the first one to see if I could find an answer before posting this (just in case I'm stupid)

Enjoying the story EXCEPT that the currency keeps annoying me. Everything $$ related past a certain point is in "mana stones" which are rated by tier - I'm assuming based on how much mana each stone holds? - and each stone theoretically worth Xyz credits. I'm assuming that these mana stones can actually be used as a source of mana, and that's the basis of their value on the market. How are these charged/produced, and how are they different than the rechargeable mana stones that the characters are carrying around as reservoirs? I know he has to hide his talent, but if the currency stones are the same, he could basically print his own money.

Just finished book 1 and really enjoyed it. The characters were fun and so was the writing, but I had some quibbles that I figured I would ask here so I can get a sense if I want to continue on with the journey.

Things I liked:

• The lore around the witch class. I highly doubt this is a controversial opinion. All of that stuff was great and intriguing, I really wanted to see if Brin would fall down this route.

• The sense of progression while Brin was trying to set himself up for class day.

• The characters and their interactions. Some moments work better than others, but in general I enjoyed getting to know the cast.

Things I was iffy on:

• The elaboration on Brin's (somewhat mundane) training. I didn't hate that he trained, but it felt like a lot of pages and word count were devoted to leveling up attributes and I ended up not being super enthused by those moments. However, I wonder how much of that is due to him being a kid that wasn't able to cast or engage in combat at all, really.

• Romance. Straight up: is it going to be a thing and how old will love interest(s) be? Author is very plainly aware of potential iffy situations here, but I do want to know if that's going to last.

• How a decision was handled in the end. I mean, if you know you know. I didn't hate it, exactly, but I am a little worried if the author will pull punches in the future.

I’m looking for any good litrpg where the mc slings around flames and ash. I just love the element of fire but it’s just overshadowed by other types. I really only see fire being used as an element that side characters use.

I reviewed the series on Amazon and gave it a 5-Star rating, but since I couldn't find any good reviews of the series here on Reddit, I wanted to give it some love here as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series. In fact, so much so that I couldn't put it down and I finished all 8 books in only 4 1/2 days. (I listened on Audible at 2x speed). Both the male and female narrators were awesome, easy to understand, and performed exceptionally well.

The story: I loved it! It's an excellent representation of the regression sub-genre of LitRPG and the authors absolutely keeps the story moving forward at a fast pace. The "character sheet" for the MC gets a little long after the first book, but I just skipped forward after hearing the main stats without missing anything important.

World building: Is it on the level the Tolkein or Sanderson, no. But it doesn't need to be. You have this setting superimposed over modern-day Earth with the same world history, etc. This just adds a "system" that has existed for an undefined amount of time in very recent history.

Characters: Both the MC and side characters were all fleshed out with complete personalities and well-defined motivations, etc.

Audiobook narration: I love the narrators for this series. Daniel Wisniewski also narrates Mage Tank and absolutely nails it in both series. The female narrator is Elizabeth Plant and she does an amazing job and makes every single female character stand out. There were about 6 or 7 prominent male and female characters each, and I never once had any problem knowing which character was speaking for either narrator. Top talent!

In conclusion, I highly recommend this series for anyone that likes to read LitRPG, and especially so for those that love regression LitRPG!
