I have this replica which for some reason started not working properly. For some reason I can light it even when I have the fluid on it, it only starts working when I use another lighter to light it first and then it works normally for a minute and then is back to not working.

Does anyone know how to fix it? I already have a new wick

My grandfather passed recently and he had a bunch of different lighters, mostly regular ones and a couple of the cheap torch ones that my dad took for work, but I really liked this one so my mum let me have it. I've done some searching and it honestly just seems to be an Amazon knock off of some other brand but that's okay. I'm trying to figure out what the screw circled in red on the bottom is for and I'm not getting answers.

Everything keeps saying it's either the refill valve or the flame adjustment, which is the black circle and the hole inside of it. I'm unsure if the circled screw is needed for anything but I dont want to take it apart and risk messing anything up just to figure it out.

And before anyone says it's for the clock on the front, it's not. There's an unpictured screw on the side to take the clock off to change out the battery for it.

Any help would be great, this has been bugging me for almost two weeks 😅

This lighter has been acting up since I bought it and I'm trying to rule out issues with it as I go along. So, the lighter seems to be missing a ring (it seems this is common for these models) that should be on the refill valve. However, it still retains the butane that I put into it. I've drained the tank multiple times across three days and each time I poke the valve it releases butane. Refilling the butane can get messy and I'm assuming it's because I don't have the ring on the valve?

When I strike the flint, very rarely does a flame start up, but when a flame does come up it's a small blue flame. The longest this small flame has stayed up was about a minute before it went out. I turn the adjustment knob back and forth, but turning the knob to the highest setting has no effect on the flame.

I'm guessing the jet valve is clogged? But I really don't know how to test that...

Hi, I just bought this lighter at a flea market yesterday, I really liked it and now I'm getting it up and running.

I just wanted to know what my 3 bucks got me, it does have flint and I'm getting some butane later but like, does anyone know from when or where is it? It says "prince" on the inside of the lid (image 2) but I couldn't find anything resembling it online, I just wanna know a lol about it, thanks in advance!!

my boyfriend's birthday is coming up and he's expressed some desire for a zippo-style lighter. he likes when things are cool, slightly silly, and functional. i've seen a few fun shaped, silly vintage-style lighters throughout my travels, but i'm not sure where to look now that i actually need one!! if anyone could recommend where to look for this style of lighter, that would be awesome. preferably somewhere online, i work 50+ hours per week and lack the time to go on the hunt for one. thank you!!

I've seen this lighter before, but never a pentagonal model. Can anyone give me more information about the model, the year it was made, and the correct model name for this specific version?

I recently got my first lighter and it is only sparking occasionally. I’ve replaced the flint with old fire bronze Ronson flints, cleaned the flint wheel, and adjusted the tension of the flint spring. I noticed most other Ronsons lift the snuffer further, so I’m wondering if I reassembled it wrong.

I have this lighter that I got years ago and I want to refill, but I wanted to make sure it is safe / possible to do so. I saw a post with a bottom that looked similar to mine, and people were saying it was missing an o-ring. Is that the case for me as well, or can I go ahead and refill it?

Also here is my understanding of how to refill: I use a flathead to rotate the fuel adjustment max counterclockwise, I bleed the fluid by pushing it in with something small, then refill upside down. Is that right? TIA, I know nothing about lighters but I will be so happy if I can use this one again :)

The mechanism is a little stiff and it won’t strike but I think it’s pretty cool

It is my favorite lighter EVER. I bought it like last year or something because i absolutely love EVERYTHING Vaporwave or Synthwave, 80's Miami / Vice City and all that. But i was never able to find it ever again, not even online. It might just be a cheap lighter but it stayed with me for so long, it has become priceless to me.

Any ideas about the model or value?

Just bought this strange gorgeous lighter off of facebook marketplace and I cannot find a lick of info on it anywhere no matter what I try and search. All I know is that it says Q-Torch at the bottom there, it was imported by Uni-Apex, and it has a dolphin on it. Any help would be appreciated because I’d love to make this my new lighter!! :]

I have a vintage Crown musical petrol lighter.

The music box and lid-opening mechanism work, but pressing the button does not rotate the flint wheel at all.
I disassembled it and I can’t find any mechanism that should drive the flint wheel. The wheel spins freely by hand, but the push button only opens the lid.

Is this lighter missing a part?

If anyone has a similar lighter and photos of the inside, I’d really appreciate the help.

I’m trying to fill this Ronson Varaflame but it’s like it won’t take any butane. Maybe the valves bad? Idk. I’ve tried several adapters but fluid just goes everywhere.
Never dealt with this kind of insert so looking for advice.

Lighter butane isn't straight butane gas, its a blend of hydrocarbon gasses made for easy ignition and different flame qualities for given applications, and some companies specifically "tone down" their blend for liability reasons, or because they're blended for very hot climates.

If you use a butane with more propane in the blend/that is generally formulated to be more volitile like special blue, you will generally have better results in your problematic lighters. Butane choice alone can make the difference between a sputtering jet and a working insert.
