Jeannette Kamahele was a 20-year-old student known by those close to her as a "responsible, independent, and hardworking" young woman. Because public transit was limited in 1970s Sonoma County, she frequently hitchhiked to attend classes at Santa Rosa Junior College. Despite receiving numerous warnings from both her mother and her college professor about the dangers of hitchhiking, Jeannette continued to follow her routine.

Unlike many people who disappear without a trace, Jeannette's final moments were WATCHED in real time. On April 25, 1972, a friend saw her get into a faded brown Chevrolet pickup truck with a distinctive homemade wooden camper shell. The driver, a Caucasian man with an Afro-style haircut and heavy sideburns, was never identified.

As the friend pulled up toward the ramp, they were just moments too late. Right before the friend could pull over, a Chevrolet truck pulled up, Jeannette got in, and the vehicle drove away. It happened too fast for the friend to intervene or signal her.

Jeannette is the only presumed victim of the Santa Rosa killer whose body has never been found.

Sarjit grew up and lived with her family in the town of Smethwick, England. She was described as a "well-mannered, intelligent and outstanding" student at the University of Birmingham.

In September 1976, Sarjit traveled to France for a driving holiday with her brother and sister-in-law. While in the resort town of Antibes on the French Riviera, she befriended three Caucasian women on a beach. Sarjit asked her brother for permission to stay behind a little longer to visit local museums with her new acquaintances. Her relatives agreed and returned to the UK without her.

A few days later, her family received a brief telephone call. A woman calling herself "Jane" (one of the beach acquaintances) sobbed into the receiver, stating: "Sarjit has drowned. We are very sorry, we couldn't do anything," before abruptly hanging up.

Despite Jane claiming Sarjit drowned in a highly popular, heavily policed tourist resort (Antibes), French authorities never found a body. There were no coastguard, police, or hospital records of a drowning or an attempted rescue matching Sarjit's description anywhere on the French Riviera during that time.

In April 2025, the New York City Medical Examiner's Office officially confirmed that her cause of death was natural, stemming from severe complications of diabetes mellitus. Close friends later shared that she had also quietly undergone a liver transplant in the year leading up to her passing.

Michelle was a phenomenal talent who practically grew up on our television screens. She brought life to unforgettable characters like Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the iconic villain Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl, and starred in childhood classics like Harriet the Spy and Ice Princess. She is deeply missed by generations of fans. Rest in peace.

This photograph was captured at her home in the Liberties neighborhood of Dublin less than a year prior to her passing. She was promoting her deeply personal autobiography, She Died Young: A Life in Fragments, where she spoke with immense bravery and characteristic candor about her lifelong battles with depression, childhood trauma, and physical frailty.

Though she spent her final months battling chronic pain, her legendary wit, fierce Irish spirit, and brutal honesty remained entirely intact until the very end. While the world lovingly remembers her as the first Irish actress to win an Academy Award or as Kevin McCallister’s park-bench protector, she hilariously noted late in life that she was probably proudest of her name becoming Dublin rhyming slang for "knickers".

This is the final photo Josh Grisetti shared of himself. It was taken while he was traveling in Trentino, Italy, where he was scheduled to direct an international production of Legally Blonde: The Musical. Shortly after this was taken, he had to abruptly step down from his directing duties and fly back home due to personal reasons.

On July 10, 2026, Josh tragically died by suicide in California at the age of 44. His passing was announced by his close friend and Something Rotten! co-star Rob McClure. Following his death, his family launched a fundraiser, noting that any leftover memorial proceeds will be donated in his name to the Entertainment Community Fund to support specialized, crucial mental health services for performers.

Josh was a brilliant talent who left a lasting mark on Broadway (It Shoulda Been You, Something Rotten!), the regional theater scene, and television. Rest in peace, Josh.

Legendary actress Wai Ching Ho passed away on July 10, 2026. While millions of fans worldwide know her for her powerful, menacing performance as Madame Gao across the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Daredevil, Iron Fist, The Defenders), and as the lovable voice of Grandma Wu in Pixar's Turning Red, her heart always belonged to the New York stage.
Highly private and completely offline, she intentionally avoided social media and paparazzi in her final years. This photo captures her doing what she loved most, performing on stage in the Off-Broadway production Laowang at 59E59 Theaters in Manhattan.
Rest in peace to an absolute powerhouse who brought so much gravitas to our favorite universes, yet remained a dedicated, humble cornerstone of her local theater community until the very end.

In June 2010, a visiting journalist secretly filmed an interview with an emaciated, 23-year-old homeless woman in South Pyongan Province, North Korea. Having lost her parents and home, she survived by picking grass to sell as rabbit feed. When asked what she ate, she replied, "Nothing."

She slept outside, completely unprotected, and spent her days wandering through local markets and dirt roads in South Pyongan Province.

In October 2010, her badly decomposed body was discovered by locals in a rural corn field. It was harvest season, and experts believe she had dragged herself into the field in a desperate attempt to find raw corn stalks to eat before her body finally gave out from starvation. Local police reportedly left her body in the field for a long time after it was found.

He would unexpectedly leave this world a few months later, December of 1963 at 20 years old. He was married with a daughter.

I never met him (I was born years later) but I love hearing stories about him and seeing the few photos that exist.

I wanted to share this still from an interview he did just a few weeks ago at the Sydney Film Festival (June 4, 2026), promoting his upcoming film The Fox. He looked happy, vibrant, and so full of life while chatting with the press.
His family announced tonight that he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, July 13th, at St. Vincent's Private Hospital in Sydney.

After a long and frightening battle with stage-three lymphoma that began in 2022, Sam recently underwent an innovative clinical therapy that worked wonders. His family noted that despite the suddenness of his passing, they take immense comfort in the fact that he was entirely cancer-free at the end.

From Jurassic Park and The Piano to Peaky Blinders and his incredible organic winery in New Zealand, Sam brought so much joy, class, and wit to the world. He lived a phenomenal life and went out with the same dignity that defined his entire career. Rest in peace, Dr. Grant.

Caroline grew up in the English county of Surrey. Since she was a child, her dream had been to visit Australia. She worked hard to save up for the cost of her trip. Her friends from her youth remembered her as a "little sharp-tongued at times", strong-willed, and incredibly loyal person. She was in excellent shape and could handle physically demanding work without any problem.

In September 1991, she finally made it to Australia. She spent nine months living and exploring the country.

Joanne was a 22-year-old from Maesteg, Wales. Driven by her love for children, she trained and qualified as a professional nursery nurse before making the decision to see the world. When she checked into a youth hostel in the Kings Cross area of Sydney, she met Caroline. The two young British women immediately became best friends.

Joanne and Caroline met Ivan Milat on Saturday, April 18, 1992, while hitchhiking on the Hume Highway. The autopsy later revealed that Joanne had been raped and suffered 14 stab wounds, nine of which completely severed her spine, resulting in paralysis. Caroline was shot 10 times in the head.

Before her death, Caroline put up a strong resistance. Then, she was subjected to prolonged psychological torture, as evidenced by the fact that a smoked pack of her favorite cigarettes was found next to her remains.

I wanted to share this photo I took of the legendary Welsh rock icon during what would become her final stage performance.
She was absolutely radiant here, giving an epic, smiling rendition of her biggest hit, "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Looking at her immense energy and stage presence that night, it is completely surreal to hear the devastating news of her passing.
Following this show, Bonnie was hospitalized in Portugal for emergency surgery and later placed in an induced coma. Though she briefly woke up in June, her family and management announced today that she sadly and unexpectedly passed away from her illness.
She never lost her passion for performing or her love for her fans. Rest in peace, Bonnie. You truly were a one-of-a-kind talent.
