Ghost Order
This isn’t just about my order or a store in particular. I ordered a big meal for my family because my mom came for a surprise visit. A really special moment because we grew up loving and eating KFC.
I go in and ask for the order I placed 30 mins ago and they say they dont have one in my name. I showed them the order and they said they dont have it in their system and theres nothing they can do about it. They said I would be refunded in 24 hours and that it happens often. They called it a “ghost order”.
I live in a city where some people can’t afford to eat and if this is normal practice for such a big company, then that’s shameful. Still no refund today and I called them and they said they’ll file a report and get back to me.
If someone walked into my small business and handed me cash and I took it and said go away and come back tomorrow I’ll give it back to you… oh and I’m not serving you because my POS is glitchy…the police would be at my store in less than an hour. I called non-emergency and they said it was a civil issue and to kick rocks, basically. We ended up going to Popeyes instead and now i’m basically $50 short thanks to KFC.
I can’t help but feel like these corporations and the government just seek to protect each other’s interest and constantly cause everyday people significant pain both financially and mentally. How is this okay?
