- Mayor Pro Tem Denise Roth
- At-Large Councillor Hugh Holston

Recommendation Piedmont Triad Farmers Market Produce
Hey y’all I am planning to take my mom to the big farmers market in Colfax for her birthday this weekend at her request. However I have heard some rumors that some of the vendors don’t actually sell their own produce, but just buy it from larger vendors and repackage it to sell. My mom really loves the PT farmers market and wants to visit it specifically or I would take her to a smaller market. I wanted to ask if anybody had any info as to which vendors definitely grow or make their own produce?I wanted to support some farms genuinely growing their own crops and also avoid any potential parasites going around on produce! Thank you so much for the help!

Recommendation Step parent adoption! Please help!
Please help me find a pro bono or reduced-fee attorney for an uncontested stepparent adoption (Guilford County, NC).
I'm hoping someone here knows an attorney or organization that can help.
I'm a stepparent in Guilford County, NC. My uncontested stepparent adoption has already been filed with the court. The biological mother voluntarily signed a notarized consent to the adoption, and all of the required documents have been submitted. I'm currently working through a few clerk-requested corrections, but the case is already pending.
I've contacted Legal Aid, law schools, legal clinics, the NC Bar, and numerous private attorneys by email, but I haven't found anyone able to take my case.
I truly cannot afford thousands of dollars for an attorney. I'm looking for someone willing to:
- Take the case pro bono,
- Offer a reduced fee, or
- Even provide limited-scope representation to review my paperwork or represent me through the final steps.
If you're an attorney, know an attorney, or know of any organization, church, legal clinic, or volunteer that helps with uncontested adoptions in North Carolina, I would be incredibly grateful for any recommendations.
This adoption means everything to our family, and I've already come so far. I just need help getting across the finish line.
Thank you so much.

Event PICTURES - 1ST TRIAD MORAL MONDAYS GREENSBORO 7/20/2026
galleryNews City of Greensboro sweeps homeless encampment
A homeless encampment sweep apparently occurred between 9:30 and 10:30 this morning, July 21. Greensboro city employees, including police, were spotted near 612 West Gate City Blvd beside “The Pregnancy Network” building with a large truck and multiple police vehicles.
The encampment had been set up at this location for approximately a month. It was dismantled with a grappling truck, normally used for disposing of heavy refuse and garbage. Personal property that was thrown away included tarps, bikes, tents, and containers, likely containing clothing, food, and other personal items.
It remains unclear as of yet if this encampment sweep was brought on by complaints from local businesses or residents, or if city government has enacted a new policy.

News USPS Mail Processing Hub

Saw this alert on USPS website: Power outage impacting delivery - Impacts from a power outage near the Greensboro, NC RPDC may impact the processing, transportation, and delivery of mail and packages in various states (South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia).
Does anyone know the status of the facility? Every package we have shipped from Raleigh this week (80 total), has not been scanned since we dropped it off. Our post office staff told us the facility is not running at all due to power outage and everything being mailed out is being held for processing. Just trying to figure out the status. Thanks.

Job-related Farmers Market Job Posting
If you've ever wanted to work among plants and people that appreciate them, send a post here. The job in question is for Parson's Farm. A farm that grows the best peaches, strawberries, and collards I've ever tasted.
They need assistance here in Greensboro at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market.
Your tasks would be to organize stock and to reach out to customers passing by, by offering samples and greetings.
Passion is key here. You could definitely find a higher paying job, but it's highly unlikely that you'll find a better community.
The amount of stories and life stories you'll be told are numerous.
If you have any interest at all, please either reply or message me directly. I worked for this farm for years, but changed fields.

Discussion Stray cat family on Tate
Walked past a family of strays hiding from the rain on my walk yesterday. 300s block of S Tate St. Does anyone know if someone is actively caring for and/or working on trapping these babies? One of them was eating a bird, so I did leave them 2 plates of wet food…

Recommendation Custom Suits/Tailored Suits
I’m going to a wedding in October and I want to find a suit that doesn’t look like it’s too baggy on me. I am a bit on the short/average side and I am a gay woman. Looking for someone who wouldn’t mind putting me in a suit and would tailor it so it doesn’t look like I’m playing dress up in my dad’s clothes. Recommendations needed especially from the butch/queer woman community!

Buy/Sell/Trade The tomatoes (and other delicious veg) continue...Guilford College Farm Market Wed 7/22 4-6pm
Greetings from Guilford College Farm!
Tomorrow, Wednesday July 22nd from 4-6PM we will be hosting our weekly produce stand at the farm barn (5806 Friends School Dr.).
The abundance of slicing tomatoes continues unabated this week! We will again be stocked with loads and loads of our 8 delicious heirloom varieties, and hope that you will find something special to make with them (I especially recommend the first recipe in that extensive list—Marcella Hazan's simple but extraordinary tomato sauce with butter and onion). A few of our other summer crops like okra and Asian eggplant are also picking up steam this week and are begging to be paired with some of these tomatoes!
New to market will be a very special Italian onion called Red Tropea, a variety from Calabria which has an elongated shape and a wonderful sweet and unique flavor. Similar in some ways to a large shallot but also entirely its own, we are excited to finally have them cured and available to offer.
Available Wednesday, 7/22:
-Slicing Tomatoes (8 varieties)
-Cherry & Saladette Tomatoes
-Summer Squash
-Cucumbers
-Okra
-Eggplant (Asian and Purple Globe)
-Shishito Peppers
-Jalapeño Peppers
-Poblano Peppers
-Sweet Italian Basil
-Thai Basil
-Bunched Celery
-Potatoes (German Butterball, Desiree/Red)
-Onions (Sweet Yellow, White, Red Tropea)
-Garlic (3 Varieties)
-Green Cabbage
-Radicchio
As always, we accept cash, check and credit card payment.
Hope to see you out at the farm!
