My partner and I had adopted this wonderful cat, Melody, about half a year ago when we moved to NC. We have a daughter and we first thought she was having outdoor/spring allergies, but it turns out she's very allergic to our cat. I'm heavy heartedly looking to rehome her as it's what's best for our family. I don't know many people around here and have been at a lost, I've also looked at several no kill shelters but they all seem to be maximum capacity. Melody is an exceptionally friendly and affectionate cat. She's spayed, has no medical issues, and is well house trained. She doesn't jump on counters or tables but just loves to jump in your lap asking for pets. She's a very sweet cat and I'm hoping if anyone is interested in adopting her or pointing me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it.

We’ve got this big oak in the backyard that’s been leaning toward the house and I’m finally accepting that it’s gotta come down. Problem is I have no idea who to call or what a reasonable price even looks like around here. Did a quick google search but honestly can’t tell who’s legit and who’s just gonna overcharge me. If anyone’s had work done recently, I’d love to know roughly what you paid and whether you’d use the same crew again. Just trying not to get completely taken advantage of since I’ve never dealt with this before.

Enrique Murillo was just arrested again for domestic violence while also going through mediation for another charge of assault on a woman. The DA’s office and the judges keep letting him off. When someone gets killed (he already got his “friends” killed) there better be a penalty for these judicial officials. Also, the ADA let his wife drop the charges.

An elderly widow in Fayetteville lost her husband, a disabled vet, who had been handling the household finances. After he passed away, she discovered they had fallen behind on their mortgage and were facing foreclosure. Before she fully understood her options, she signed a contract with a wholesaler that leaves her walking away with none of the equity from the sale of her home or any money at all.

Whether you support wholesaling or not, situations like this make me think there should be stronger consumer protections for elderly homeowners, especially those dealing with grief or financial distress. Honestly, it’s flat out gross that the wholesaler took advantage of her. I’m planning to try to raise funds for her, for her move to SC closer to family.

Fort Bragg is about to close Stryker Golf Course—a Donald Ross-designed course that's been part of the installation since 1946—on September 1st, 2026. But this isn't just about golf. It's about what happens when an installation with 50,000 active-duty soldiers and over 80,000 family members loses the spaces where they decompress, stay fit, and feel at home.

This is part of a bigger pattern. Over the past years, Fort Bragg has quietly shut down or let deteriorate so many recreation and wellness programs: the carpentry and auto shops, the parachute clubs, the bowling alleys (down to one, barely staffed), the officers and NCO clubs, even the Labor Day Leapfest competition and Independence Day celebrations. Meanwhile, MWR office renovations seem to get funding just fine. It feels like the needs of actual soldiers and families have taken a backseat.

I started a petition asking President Trump, Secretary of Defense Hegseth, and Army leadership to stop the closure and reverse this whole managed decline of quality-of-life on base. Soldiers deploy stronger when they have safe, affordable ways to recover with their families. Retirees stay connected to the community. That matters for readiness and retention—not just morale.

Hello, so for context I am 18 years old and a rising senior, I havent taken driver's ed yet simply because I haven't had the time to so now I'm wondering how can I get a driver's license at 18 in Fayetteville, NC

What is the best pool hall in Fayetteville? I'm mostly concerned with the number of tables, the places I currently frequent have long wait lists to play on popular nights.

After that, I'm hoping for a chill atmosphere where fights don't break out often. Then cool pool events that you don't necessarily have to be in a league to participate in.

This handout specifically states you can file 50-B AND 50-C but when I called the phoenix center and the cross creek police station, they told me I would have to appear in court physically—which contradicts what this paper says

ONTOP OF THAT:

North Carolina law expressly authorizes electronic filing of Chapter 50C documents. G.S. 50C-2(e) states that documents relating to 50C actions “may be filed electronically,” and G.S. 7A-343.6 authorizes electronic filing programs for both 50B and 50C cases.

This needs to be addressed because either this is outdated or flat out wrong or somebody somewhere doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

I also called the Hope Mills police headquarters and the army center but neither answered the phone.

Where can I find one in town? I've checked Walmart and a couple of convenience stores, and nada.
