Reggae/ska/punk drummers?

Looking for a drummer to jam with and eventually play some shows. I’m 39 (going on 25) and been writing songs playing guitar and singing since I was about 16, lived in Santa Cruz CA for about 14 years and was in a ton of bands back there, just never tried out here cuz well it’s Arkansas 😂 found a bassist, just need a drummer and we can have a solid little 3 piece. A lead guitarist would be cool too. Style is going to be a lot like sublime, a lot of aggressive ska, rock, punk mixed with hiphoppy reggae. I’ve got like 30+ songs, dwindled it down to about 8-10 to have a foundation for a nice 30 min set or demo. Always writing new ones too. Anyways hit me up if interested!

Mha Iri concert / Ozark Music Hall / August 7 Friday / Please Come!!!

Hello NWA! So, a couple of years ago, I was suggested by YouTube to listen to this DJ from Scotland named MHA IRI!!! She makes old school Acid House, Drum & Bass techno, and she's amazing! Please check her music out at YouTube or Spotify - I think she is currently the #1 acid house Woman DJ in the world. She plays EDM festivals in Europe like Ibiza, Amsterdam, and Paris, Uber Famous overseas.

Well... a few months ago, she posted a YouTube short video asking fans to help out. She was testing the algorithm, asking fans to say hello and state where they were from. I commented "Howdy, Mha! We love your Acid here in the Ozarks!"

A few months have passed now. I checked local shows online, and OMG!!! Mha Iri has booked a concert here in the Ozarks!!!!!

What on Earth?!!! Did I, little old man me, cause this to happen?! I can hardly believe it's real. I purchased tickets, just a wee bit over $30, and I still feel like reality is Melting.

Y'all gotta come to this dance night!!! Mha Iri is amazing, such an authentic and beautiful young woman, and she can Melt Yo Face with hard kicks and Acid arpeggios, HOLY HECK! I myself cannot dance to save my life, so I'm gonna need some local fools to show up and dance an Acid shuffle or a hillbilly jig to some hard-ass beats!!!!

PLEASE COME?! It will be sooooooo fun I PROMISE!!!

The 71B Corridor Redevelopment project is nice to see. I know it's caused some construction headaches. But I think it will be really nice addition once completed.

Police on I-49

I was just driving north on I-49 from West Fork about 5:15 p.m. today and I passed 13 police cars all in a row with their lights on traveling south before I even made it to Greenland and I wondered what was going on. Any ideas?

New cameras on (almost?) all stop lights?

Sorry if this has already been posted about but I’ve been noticing a lot of different cameras popping up on intersection lights? What’s that about? And why so many different ones? Anyone know what each one is for?

I drive mainly north Fayetteville/springdale so not sure if it’s also a thing in other locations. I’m aware of flock cameras going up, but not sure if those are it?

College Condos

Anybody have any experiences renting at College Condos on Scull Creek? Am about to sign a lease but have concerns about the structure of the building in regard to it being a flood zone and also there seemed to be some minor moisture impacted areas in the condo.

What is the mental map that longtime residents use to understand Northwest Arkansas?

If you had to explain Northwest Arkansas to someone who’s never been here, how would you describe the relationship between Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville? Would you describe it as:

- one metro with four distinct cities,
- one large city-region made up of different districts
- four independent cities that happen to be close together
- or something else entirely?

And when you think about the region yourself, do you picture it as one metro, four cities, or something in between? I’d love to hear why.

Ozark Music Hall - ticket question (table vs gen. adm.)

I am about to buy tickets to the Ozark Music Hall for a concert in October. There are a few tables left to purchase on the upper deck. If you've ever been to a show here, is it worth it or is it better to just get general admission? We're kinda old, so it seems like it would be nice to get a table so that we could rest our bones between acts. From the cost perspective, it seems that a table on the side is $100 (and seats 04) but the general admission tickets are $50/each. I've never been to this venue, so your input is valuable! What would you do?

Does anyone remember the spicy chicken from the Chinese restaurant in the NWA Mall?

This is a long shot, but I’m hoping someone here can help solve a decades old mystery.

There used to be a Chinese restaurant in the food court at the food court, probably in the late ‘90s or early 2000s). They had a dish simply called spicy chicken, and I’ve never found anything else quite like it.

It wasn’t General Tso’s, sesame chicken, or kung pao. If I remember correctly, it was:

Bite-sized pieces of stir fried chicken
Tossed in a light, red, spicy sauce
Plenty of onions
Addictively good over rice (you could request they pour the sauce over your rice)

I’ve tried recreating it and ordered “spicy chicken” from dozens of Chinese restaurants over the years, but nothing has come close.

Does anyone:
Remember the restaurant’s name?
Know who owned or worked there?
Have the recipe (or something very close)?
Know where the cooks ended up after the mall restaurant closed?

Even if you just remember eating there, I’d love to hear about it. Maybe together we can track down the recipe or at least figure out what style of dish it actually was.

Thanks!

New fish keeper looking for assistance

Hello all,

I was looking for any local fish keepers who wouldn't mind supplying a newbie with filter media from an established tank so I can ensure a healthy cycle for my newly established 10 gallon planted tank.

Any reasonable food places?

What are some places in town where two people can eat for under around 20? I've lived in town for about a week now and have tried Whole Foods hot bar which was pretty decent and Chao's Asian food truck, which seems pricey but one portion is more than enough for two people so I think its also worth revisiting, I'm wondering what places the locals like to eat that aren't going to leave me with a $40+ bill at the end.

Recommendations for some cosmetic car work

Hey y’all, does anyone have any recommendations for where I could get this fixed on my steering wheel? The metal coating has been peeling off, and it leaves sharp edges that cut my fingers. It’s ugly AND painful, lol.

My son will be going to middle school for the first time in the fall. Does anyone have experience with finding bus routes and bus numbers? FPS transportation direct you to an app that has one star and you have to login with an email or phone number that has to be registered through some mysterious process.
