Information No political opinions period.

r/LittleRock is NOT a politics sub.

Anyone who introduces political opinion into a thread or makes a post espousing a political belief will receive, at minimum, a temporary ban from r/LittleRock. Do not engage anyone who has chosen to share their political views here on r/LittleRock or you will face the same consequence.

If you simply must express your political opinions, use r/Arkansas_Politics or find any one of the tens of thousands of political posts going on elsewhere that are active right now.

Coverage of political events by news outlets is allowed. Posting about upcoming events is allowed. Posts and comments about your political beliefs and opinions are NOT.

If you are unsure whether or not something would be acceptable, please, just reach out to us via modmail before posting.

I know everyone is damned near feral at present, but please have some restraint, and keep discussions that begin to butt up against political topics civil, dispassionate, and matter-of-fact.

Finally, this sub has always been against hate, racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, and bigotry in general. It always will be. These are not political issues, they are matters of basic human decency. If you have a problem with that, unsubscribe.

Information Three funded Little Rock bike and pedestrian projects have taken years, or even decades, to reach construction

Following last week's news that the Markham Street Pedestrian Bridge will be demolished without replacement, I looked at three funded projects that could significantly improve walking and bicycling in Little Rock:

  • Markham Street Road Diet
  • Markham Bike and Pedestrian Trail
  • Medical Mile Ramp

The article covers the history of each project, why they've taken so long, and their current construction timelines.

I'm curious what everyone thinks. Are these delays just the reality of federally funded transportation projects, or could the city be moving faster?

Burglary this morning

There is an abandoned house on Purdue Cir that has been covered over by squatters, who come and go as they please. I live next door and just this morning found that they have broken into my shed and made off with my tools. The police provided little help and didn't even look for the trespassers, despite hearing their voices. I haven't been able to find the owner, and I am desperately trying to find my tools. If you see suspicious people, by all means, report them.

learning to roller blade

where can I go that has some flat paths and whatnot so I can learn to in-line roller blade?

Obviously I know the skating rink, but I'm thinking somewhere outdoor where I'm not gonna have to pay to look like a drunken cow

Recommendations With Arkansas Auto Air shut down, where do you go for automotive air conditioning repair?

My truck is almost 20 years old and the air is barely keeping up this summer, despite being a single cab.

I don't mind spending a bit of money (as is the way of it now) but I'd like to take it somewhere that does good work and preferably guarantees their work. Any suggestions, Little Rock?

Recommendation on what to do with puppies of a rescue dog

Hey guys, I know the economy is bad and most people aren't in the market for a dog . But I'm desperate. My husband picked up "Max" on the freeway coming back from conway. Someone LITERALLY threw her out of a moving mini van on the freeway and he opened the door and told her get in. Well, months later, after no lunch finding her a home or owner, we kept her since she was so good with my 1 year old and 5 year old. Wellll, she ended up getting pregnant by our neighbors golden retriever/ great Pyrenees. We believe max is half pit half lab. She said sweetie. She had 8 beautiful pups. 1 unfortunately got hit by a car because they kept digging out of our fenced in yard. We are at a loss, Ive posted them on FB, local groups, even posted flyers and nothing. We can't afford to feed these dogs any longer since my husband is out of work until he has kidney surgery in late August. If anyone is interested PLEASE message me. These pups are great with kids, would be great hunting dogs, or guard dogs. They have never been inside since we have 4 inside dogs ( 2 of which just showed up during the snow storm, so if you want 2 Toto from wizard of oz dogs please let me know). They are great pups and we plan on keeping maybe 2 but not all 7. I can. Put pics in comments. 2 are short hair and the rest have long fluffy coats. We are not a dog rescue but it seems like we've pretty much turned into that because we have a conscience, but have no funding to feed these dogs anymore. If any one has any advise on what to do I'm all ears. We live in county so theres no humane society

DND player looking for a group

I'm currently looking for a DND group ready to play, preferably in the West LR area. I don't mind if it's mid campaign, as long as EVERYONE at the table is completely okay with inviting a new player mid campaign. I'm not new to DND, but I am generally new to actually playing, as I've only had a few small sessions here and there but no real long-term play with a consistent group of players. Thank you for stopping to read and I hope to see you in the realms!

ABANDONED Downtown KATV Building Repurpose

I drive by this building twice a day. I've thought it was a cool building. I like the parking garage attached to the building. I think it's a great idea and I hope it can be a reality in the future.

A grocery store. I've seen grocery stores in other cities with attached parking garage and it works. Even so, the grocery delivery and pickup would be made possible with the parking garage.

Anyone with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease eaten at Taj Mahal?

A friend is having a party there and I’ve never been. Curious about your experience if you have. I’m totally prepared to just eat before I go and only expect to have a drink there but I thought I’d check anyway.

Discussion/Question Some weird happenings with the electricity in WLR

Has anyone else in WLR been experiencing intermittent outages? It’s happened to me 8 (EIGHT) times since from noon to 1pm and I’m sure it will keep happening for some time today.

I know last night a driver hit a utility pole down the street from me on Napa Valley Dr, and the lady I talked to on the phone with Entergy said it could be from those repairs but I don’t believe that. My wife works on Chenal near the Kroger/Costco area and it’s been happening to her as well

This sweet girl was dumped by our house and has been hanging with us until we can find her a home. I really don’t want to have to take her to a shelter if possible. Not sure how old she is, definitely 1 or under. She warms up to people very quickly, haven’t seen her with other animals yet. She prefers to be outside and is good about peeing outside, but not fully housetrained.

We would keep her but our dog is very dog aggressive/reactive and it won’t work out.

Teach Me How To Dance

I am doing this because I want to rid myself of social anxiety

24/Yo Male, I want to learn how to dance because it looks so fun and I feel like it would be such a good outlet to just let loose

I am particular to Latin dance because I am Hispanic but I want to learn it all

I would feel more confident if I had someone with some experience teach me in a way?

Jobs

I'm so sick of Indeed, it feels like there are no real jobs on there, I barely get any responses. The only luck I've had is calling places, but I'm new to town and don't even know where to look. Anyone know of places in town that are hiring? I usually work with kids but am looking to pivot careers.
