Information Three funded Little Rock bike and pedestrian projects have taken years, or even decades, to reach construction
Following last week's news that the Markham Street Pedestrian Bridge will be demolished without replacement, I looked at three funded projects that could significantly improve walking and bicycling in Little Rock:
- Markham Street Road Diet
- Markham Bike and Pedestrian Trail
- Medical Mile Ramp
The article covers the history of each project, why they've taken so long, and their current construction timelines.
I'm curious what everyone thinks. Are these delays just the reality of federally funded transportation projects, or could the city be moving faster?
