Hellooo everyone. I been job hunting for the past couple weeks now. I’m looking for a better opportunity for myself and finally quitting the fast food industry after 6 years. Is there any office jobs or any entry level places that are hiring in Frederick? I don’t mind commuting as long as it’s not going farther towards 270 (you should know why lol traffic) I have a good resume and have lots of experience in retail, business, customer service etc. I been feeling overwhelmed by this change but ready to start something new. I am a business major as well. please leave any suggestions or advice for a young adult like myself🙂

There have been a slew of motorcycle thefts at our apartment complex off 7th St. I walked out to go to work this morning to find my 26 MT09 with less than 700 miles on it, missing. Had it locked to the post, steering was locked, it was covered, and blocked in with my car.

Super interested in getting bulk meat for my family (and several friends/extended family) though we want to give business to folks that arent MAGA/trump supporter aligned. Note that we dont care if someone is Republican or Democrat, its more about if they (currently) support MAGA, which is against our morals and frankly we just dont want to support businesses like that.

My family just moved to Frederick 3 months ago. My son will be starting 9th grade and was accepted into the IB program at Urbana High. We actually live near Thomas Johnson High. I know Frederick County won't provide transportation so I'm looking for any tips. Has anyone had experience doing this with their child? My son really wants to participate in the program and I'm trying to make it work. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I was on the Lowe's web site looking at lumber. The boards I wanted were showing a price of $8.98/board. Out of stock at Hagerstown but available in Frederick. I put two in my cart, and the price for each changed to $19.99/board. I contacted Lowes by chat, and this was their answer:

Hello, I recently moved here from the Adirondacks, and I used to be a transporter for injured wildlife. I'm hoping to find a place to do that here as well. I also would love to help plant trees or be involved in native habitat restoration. I found the Carol audubon sanctuary, but I haven't found much else. I need to get citizenship/passport photos printed for an dual citizen application to Canada, but the Canadian government has specific requirements compared to standard US passport photos.

They need to be 50 mm x 70 mm (not the standard US 2x2 inch size), and the back of one photo has be stamped/written with the physical photography studio’s name, address, and the date the photo was taken.

CVS/Walgreens type places don't print in that size - anyone have experience on this or an idea of where I could go?

Hi, I'm looking for a reputable place for storage for several months. It would have to be climate controlled, clean, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations for one? It doesn't have to be Frederick proper, anywhere south of it would do also.

For seemingly every open salaried job, the Frederick County Government's listing has this note--why aren't salaries being considered solely on an applicant's experience or capabilities? Seems like an easy way for them to pay people as little as possible for what are often very important or high pressure jobs. We hate to see it as people are getting paid less than ever and Frederick (as well as everywhere) is becoming more unaffordable than ever.

I lived in Frederick for around 6 years before moving to NJ during the pandemic. I’m going to visit family this weekend and wanted to pop in to a few places Saturday night and Sunday morning. My usual suspects are Cafe Bueno for dinner. Cafe Nola for a drink & possibly a show. Gravel & Grind for coffee. Now I know plenty of new spots have opened post pandemic and I’ve been doing my research on where to stop at Sunday morning on my way out of town. Twin Bears & Bakehouse are on my list. Any other good spots to add? Good thrift shops, downtown boutiques? Good spots for a Saturday night solo drink? Thanks in advance!

Women of Frederick,

has anyone had any uncomfortable encounters with the Male owner of the Banyan since it has opened? I have had two very close friends, from separate friend groups, share the same story. It seems like he enjoys following women into the elevators 🙂
