Question How can extra virgin avocado oil contain trans fatty acids?
I was researching good avocado oil brands that aren’t adulterated, or highly processed, and Simpli came highly recommended.
Looking online at their laboratory analysis, it shows that out of 13.6g of fat, 0.36 of that is trans fatty acids. I was under the impression there was no source of trans fat from plants or fruit.
C18:1 from my understanding only occurs from industrial hydrogenation and there is 0.327g.
C20:1, trans-11 again from my understanding and online searching, it only comes from hydrogenation of fish oils such as cod or cod liver.
Does this show that the oil has been adulterated? I’m relatively new to the world of “good” cooking oils so I’m trying to find brands that are trustworthy.
