I’ve used the G6 for years with no real problems. But, of course I had to switch to the G7 and applied my first one a couple weeks ago. It started itching soon after installing it, and got worse. Finally I took it off after about 8 days. I was left with a pretty severe rash that looks like a bad sunburn. I’m debating whether to try another since I have 8 left.

I’ve read some posts with ideas, but they seem a bit wild, and not clear if they will work

Should I switch to another brand? Any other ideas? I may just go without, my A1C has been very good (< 6.0). I just liked wearing it because it would occasionally alert when I had a low reading

That led me to start building SweetPea, an experimental Wear OS app that connects directly to a Dexcom G7, captures the current glucose reading, and uploads it to Gluroo through a Nightscout-compatible connection.

Tonight we reached a big milestone: the collector now continues running while the watch screen is asleep and can upload over either Wi-Fi or cellular. Wi-Fi is preferred when available to help preserve battery, but cellular allows the watch to keep sharing readings when it is away from home and without a phone nearby.

We also adjusted the Bluetooth timing so the watch wakes and scans close to the next expected five-minute Dexcom cycle instead of scanning continuously. In our latest testing, it has been capturing consecutive readings and successfully delivering them to Gluroo.

The video is a live demonstration of the watch receiving a G7 reading and confirming that it was sent to Gluroo.

This is still an early experimental prototype. It is not an approved medical device, is not being relied upon for dosing or emergency alerts, and still needs much more reliability, battery, security, and long-duration testing. But it is exciting to finally see the full phone-independent path working:

Dexcom G7 → Wear OS watch → Wi-Fi/cellular → Gluroo → caregiver phone

This is my second time using a G7 sensor (15 day). I got it put on at the doctor about 4 hours ago, but it’s already starting to peel away at the sides. I’m confused as to why the adhesive is so bad that it comes off this easily. Is this normal with the G7.

My Clarity account seems to be stuck in February 2025. This shows on both the phone app and the website. I have tried manually updating the date range but it just goes back to February 2025.

It doesn't appear that Clarity has been discontinued. Am I missing something?

According to Dexcom support (on phone with them right now), G7 10-day sensors are getting placed inside 15-day boxes and thus being distributed by pharmacies as such.

My prescription is for the G7 15-day sensors. I‘ve gotten refills on these ‘15-day’ sensors from my pharmacy for months since I switched over from 10-day. Not exaggerating when I say this: Every single sensor I’ve used in the past 3-months has failed around day 8 or 9. Every single one of my 15-day sensors.

Here‘s the crazy part: When I just called Dexcom support for replacements they show in their system that every one of those failed 15-day sensors are failed 10-DAY SENSORS.

Yeah….I think this is much more than just a mislabeled box that they claim it to be because, on my end, the Dexcom app always shows the days remaining and it always said 15 days remaining after they were inserted.

TLDR; Something really funky is going on in Dexcom’s manufacturing/distribution chains that either they haven’t fully acknowledged yet or don’t fully understand yet.

Does your former site hurt? We remove it when indicated, then put tje new one elsewhere, and if anything like shirt sleeve or squeezing my arm against my body for whatever reason, it hurts like he!!. It feels like a pimple or something for several days. What is up with that? G6 never had an issue. Thanks

Sometimes adhesive just doesnt work on me. Don't know why. Maybe the lot has some sort of issue? The last two times I tried putting on my Dexcom it was like a half hour after taking a shower, but my skin wasn't wet anymore by the time I was putting it on, so idk

I usually have my Dexcom G6 data on my Apple Watch (not direct to watch, but from my phone), but closed my Dexcom app, reopened, and now it doesn’t even show up as something that I can access on my watch. Any tips?

Does anyone know if it's possible to see blood sugar readings on the screen of a Tesla vehicle? Is this doable?

Today, while visiting Berlin, I had to change my sensor. My Dexcom G6 expired and as it was the last of my supply, I had to switch back to the G7. This happened in the middle of heavy rain. So I went inside a nearby church for cover. I ended up changing my Dexcom as intricate statues of Jesus and Mary and beautiful architecture looked down on me, and a priest had even just started a sermon.

What’s the strangest or most unconventional place you’ve changed your sensor?

I’m beginning to see a pattern that I don’t like, the 15 day sensors are having brief sensor issues repeatedly during the last few days until they completely fail.

With the 10-days, this did occasionally happen - maybe one sensor every two or three months. I switched to the 15-day as soon as they became available and the first few were flawless, they lasted the full 15 days and were more accurate than the 10-day.

Now, my last three in a row 15-day have started getting the brief sensor issue more and more frequently until they finally fail, with several days left. I’m wondering if it’s a bad batch and will try one with a different manufacturing date once the current one fails or stops. I have reported to Dexcom and they replaced them. Just wondering what others are experiencing. Thanks!

UPDATE - the darn thing failed later in the day after posting this. Of course it happened just when I lay down to take a nap. I’m not on insulin and am well controlled T2D so no urgency for me. I shut the alerts off and put a new one on a couple of hours later. The last 3 have failed this way starting around day 12 (which seems to be a common theme here), I always have hopes that it will come back, and it does, but always completely fails within a day.
I’m just going to start with a new one when the failure first starts, that way I don’t have a lapse in coverage (hopefully). Although, I did this one and went out to run errands, the current one at the time failed while I was out and the replacement failed out-of-the-box, couldn’t even make it come to life with the magnet trick. 🤬

Does anyone know anything about selling their G6 supplies? Is it legal? Is there a legitimate place that buys them? We are switching to the G7 and I have a ton of G6 sensors left over that I am not sure what to do with...

Multi-Billion dollar company and they refuse to have any Disaster Recovery. Or redundantcy. Why are the G7 so expensive?

Has anyone else noticed the the dexcom G7s are starting to fall off more than they used to? I’ve been using the g7 for years and over the past few months, the sensor itself keeps coming detached from the adhesive. Itll usually happen 2-3 days before I’m due for a change and I either have to change early or try to sec it extra with a tegaderm. I always use skin prep and both the over patch that comes with the dexcom and one from expression med.
It’s starting to get really frustrating to have to message for replacements, even when I’m doing everything right

Basically what the title says cause that's just so annoying, at night especially!! When I'm having a low and I sleep through the first alarm (happens more often than I'd like) then why do I have to wait for another 15 minutes to hear it again when I might go even lower in the next few minutes 😭😭

Just needed to vent. Since my last refill, nearly every sensor has been reading in the mid-to-high 200s while finger pricks come back around 90. It’s been reading high so often I expected my A1c in the 7s. It came back 4.9.

So many replacements, so much frustration. I don’t know what changed, these used to be rock solid for me until recently.

It got bad enough that I’m switching to Eversense and I’m at the point of scheduling the procedure. Fortunately insurance approved it :)

Has anyone else had difficulty with the Dexcom app deleting doses of insulin? For the past few weeks, I've been tracking my doses in the app, and almost once a day, at least one of them will disappear.

ALL of my doses disappeared from yesterday. I added the last one at 11 PM and reviewed the others, so I know they were there. Today, all the doses are gone.

I'm certain I'm adding and saving them correctly, because I've been double-checking given the problems. The app isn't very trustworthy if this is happening.

I was wondering if anyone found any that are more not Ai generated images?

I dont like gen ai and id prefer to avoid putting it on my body and showing it off for 10-15 days Im not looking to argue about gen ai good and bads. I dont like it i prefer not to include it on myself if i can. Im an artist for the artists and thats that.

I know i can use expression med or it was pumppeelz to do my own but expression med/pumppeelz i noticed irritates my skin; plus they arent large enough to fit over the shield and i prefer the fabric sort of texture overpatches as its not as irritating to my skin with extended wear

overall id prefer to also support others and getting it that way if i can; i dont really often have a lot of time to try and make my own (not that i have a circuit to print and make my own anyhow nor the space to do such stuff and store equipment)
