The site where we order my daughter’s diabetes supplies is showing a pre-order for a new infusion set. I vaguely remember our Tandem rep telling us about this, but I can’t find any info about it online. Does anyone know more about it?

It took 5 years for me to finally do the thing I always thought I would do with the x2. I entered units instead of grams when prebolusing for a meal. Before I actually dropped low my pump alerted that I had less than 20 units of insulin left and I thought I swear I just had like 45 units of insulin before I ate then I noticed the 19.5 units on board. Fortunately that gave me enough time to consume mass quantities of sugar and avoid a severe low.

I have used a t:slim X2 for 5 years and have been happy with the product and customer support. I am out of warranty so I am due for a new pump. The process has been concerning and is becoming alarming. Process started off poorly using a bot to schedule a call, calls me, I wait to talk to a rep. We go through all the details to kick off the replacement process. Then Tandem follows up with texts that my warranty is expiring so I need to start the process, causing me concern. Warranty expired June 30, today is July 22. I received a link for a copay, paid. I get a call from my endocrine nurse asking what pump supplies I use (she and I were both annoyed Tandem didn’t have this information, they have my Rx and ship me the supplies). Finally I get an email: order shipped from Solara via UPS. My pump is on the way! Then I get a text from Tandem saying my order has been submitted to Edgepark and to contact Edgepark if I don’t hear from them within 5 days. It’s a conversation for another time, but Edgepark has unethical billing practices and I will never ever use them for anything again, ever. So I email my Tandem rep and say as much, and she is confused why they texted me about Edgepark and said not to worry, my Solara (pump) shipment is on the way. Solara shipment arrives. It is an invoice for $583.86 and the box contains only (1) ten pack of cartridges and (1) 10 pack of tubing - no pump. ODD as I have always received six boxes of each directly from Tandem. Why would Tandem have another supplier (Solara) ship me Tandem supplies when I always order directly from them? Why has Tandem gone from A+ customer service to total clownery? I am starting to get very, very concerned and wondering if I need to try to emergency roll-back insurance approval for a Tandem tslim replacements and try to get approval for Omnipod? I have never used Omnipod. I used Medtronic for 20 years and survived their decline and will not return. Would be grateful for input from anyone who has recent insight into Tandem and any advice about changing course mid-insurance stream.

No big deal. Only some essential medical supplies. The cartridges themselves don’t appear to be damaged, but I don’t feel great about using them. Hoping Byram makes this right!

I like using only the tandem app alone , I’ll have to connect my dexcom to both apps just to get readings on my watch? Sounds stupid.

I was thinking if tandem won’t make a simple widget then we should do it for our sake. The idea is one app that connects and copies the readings from the tandem app like sharelink through that app you add widgets on your screen and on the Apple Watch face.

Anyone know how to get something like this started?

My Dexcom is set to expire tomorrow night, and I’ll need to refill my cartridge tonight. Will my mobi still connect if have my g7 on the opposite arm for a day? I remember them saying to keep it on the same side when I did training, but wanted to get others experience with this. Thanks!

Over the last week or so, with no updates to phone or pump, I’m consistently getting connection issues. Has anyone experienced this as well, and know of any fixes?

Nothing to the best of my knowledge has changed in hardware, my behaviour or damage. So as a developer I’ve ruled out the things I can think of that I’ve done wrong.

Hello! I’m new to Tandem, 5 days on the tslim. I was diagnosed 6 months ago. My insulin needs have always been quite low at 12-18 units per day with most of that coming from bolus/food insulin. On mdi my long acting was only 4 units.

Now moving to the pump we have set up initial settings and I noticed that my basal is suspended for large parts of the day whenever my sugar drops below 6. So often I’m going into a meal with no basal running for the last 2-3 hours.

Maybe because of this (not having any long acting in my system to buffer things) my sugars after meals have been volatile, shooting up quickly despite a long pre-bolus time (15-20 minutes). I think my ICR is close to accurate because my sugars come down to an appropriate level after. But I am stumped on how to prevent the big upswing. Around meal time is about the only time of day my basal seems to run.

Is the pump running in automated mode not meant for someone with such small basal needs? Would I be better off running in manual mode to see if a steady stream of basal would help?

I know this post has existed MANY times from other users in here, but I had some more specific questions than most of them were asking.

I’m very strongly considering leaving Omnipod for Tandem. My pods recently have put me through a tornado of unknown/uncertain issues regarding pod failures/absorption issues/leaking etc…

I do want to mention that Omnipod has worked great in the last 5 years but recently nothing seems to want to work right for me. My question for tandem users is, what type of issues do you experience (if any)? Have you had any issues where the pump just doesn’t seem to work at all, or are your issues more about the algorithm?

For those of you that did switch from Omnipod, are you glad you made the switch? What are the biggest pros and cons you’ve noticed after switching?

I have a ton more questions about which pump is recommended, cannula types, etc. but I’ll ask those once I’m set on switching.

Went to charge my t:slim this morning whilst I went for a shower and felt a wee bit of plastic come away - looked and saw that a corner of the case by the charge port had broken off.

I'll get in touch with Tandem when we get back from holiday. The pump is, almost to the day, a year old.

I’m surprised I’m not finding more information on this but individually people have reported these issues. Omnipod works horribly for our toddler, completely different absorption or none at all with every sight change. Works for a day and unpredictably, has anyone found the other pumps work better for such issues?

Since the iOS app update to 3.6.2, I no longer see the automatic correction bolus information at the bottom of the screen. Is anyone else experiencing this as well? Thanks in advance!

Weird thing out at dinner tonight.

I’ve been on the Mobi since Wednesday, 7/15. While out at dinner received an alarm ‘cartridge not installed, install new cartridge.’ WTF? This happened after setting an extended bolus.

There was no tension on the cartridge or tubing. The cartridge felt snug. The tubing was not knotted. The cartridge still had 100+ units in it. I went through the cartridge installation process through the app, removed it, installed when prompted, and hit ‘fill tubing’ without the tubing on it. I could see insulin coming out of the cartridge. Attached the tubing and repeated the process, insulin came out. Re-started my extended bolts, no problems since.

Anyone else experience this? It could just be first-time user error with the cartridge but 🤷‍♀️

I love to golf, and when I do, I always go low. I’m always putting my pump in activity mode well in advance, plus I decrease my basal rate by 50%.

Any tips to keep the control iq algo from sending me low during a long cardio activity like walking a round?

I’m on the mobi now and had a bit of a strange thought.

My G7 gives wonky reading to start from warmup up to 24 hours every so often I usually overlap the end of a grace period and pre soak the new sensor.

Is there any way to see the readings on the new Dexcom while the old one is still attached to my mobi? That way I can flip to the new sensor once steady?

Basically I want the Dexcom app (or hand held receiver) attached to the new sensor and the old one driving the Mobi pump.

I would need to eventually move from the receiver to the mobi for obvious reasons.

Is this doable?

I have a note from my doctor that allows me to order a single box over the phone once a month. Just called Tandem to place an order for Trusteel, and the agent told me the restrictions have been "temporarily" lifted!

I just checked the website here (Canada) and it says supplies are still unavailable, but I think we might be seeing the light at the end of the shortage tunnel!

Hopefully this brightens someones day like it did mine!

Since one week I have ripped out 6 sites. I used to be tubed, but never had this many come off within the first week.

Then I called the Tech support due to the following picture and text support told me not to unpair my pump, when I died but yet I had to for it to connect back.

Currently on Omnipod and talked to my endo about interest in the Mobi. She said they would have Tandem contact me, so I know the text isn't spam. Just seems very unprofessional....

I got an email today about this. It was odd that the app version they said supported it wasn’t the one that the App Store said included it. Anyone seen the notification and done the software updates?

I've recently gotten a number of texts and emails from Tandem about my warranty expiring for my pump and that insurance may be eligible to get me a new one, and warranty expiring means I may lose access to updates/new systems etc.

Couple questions...

1. Does this mean I don't have lifetime warranty on the medical device I need to keep me alive? If something were to happen to my pump now, I'd have to pay out of pocket?

2. I am not interested in a different system, I have the t slim x2 and I'm happy with it, and it is functioning just fine, I don't need a new one. It's asking me to "check my benefits" but to me that seems like they just want me to pay for a new one. Can't I just do that if/when I need a new one?

3. The messages are also sort of threatening that I won't be able to access new remote updates to the system if my warranty expires. Does this mean if there's an essential patch of some kind that comes out that is required, they will tell me to kick rocks and buy a new one??

Is there anyone who's gone through this and can tell me if they're doing that thing where they fear-monger you into buying a new thing when you don't really need it? I'm not gonna lie, money is tight, so if insurance doesn't cover a full replacement it's just not gonna happen for me, do I need to worry about losing access/needing to pay out of pocket if my pump fails for some reason?

Hi! I am just out of warranty on my T:slim and in the process of getting a Mobi pump (waiting for it to be shipped to me). I have a waterpark trip planned for next week - taking the kids to Disney for a night and visiting Typhoon Lagoon. I’ve had T1D for 20+ years, but I think this is the first waterpark I’ve been to since diagnosis - ha!

I really don’t want to go on MDI for the day because after years of pump use, my control on shots is pretty horrible. Plus the factor of sun/exercise - I want my controlIQ!

I have a waterproof pump pouch (Aquapac) I was planning to wear. I also have a waterproof pouch for my cellphone.

What other tips do you have for water parks while on a pump? What’s the best place for my infusion site?

Ladies - is a 1-piece or 2-piece recommended? I normally wear a high-waisted 2-piece for ease of disconnecting my pump - but thinking a one-piece might be better.
