In 2018 legislation was passed telling the FAA to ban voice calls through portable electronics on planes, but they never got around to it. This bill requires them to enact the rule within 180 of the bill's enactment.

I was on a flight home from a national sales meeting. Very tired. I chose the window seat as I planned on falling asleep. There was an old lady in the middle seat maybe 70 years old. She told me that this was her first time flying and said she’s always dreamed of looking out the window. She was definitely hinting at a switch, and the lady in the aisle seat stuck her nose in saying “if she was in the window she’d switch with her” but I didn’t ask many follow up questions she then asked if i could open the window which I did and let her gaze over me…I felt bad but whatcha gonna do amiright?

About a month ago I bought a family member a round trip from JFK to Hong Kong in premium select via Chase for 133k points, the upgrade price to Delta one for lax to Hong Kong was $500 so they purchased that and the upgrade price on the return was 5k so they skipped that.

A couple days ago I was checking to see the price and when I clicked it it just moved them and didn’t take me to the payment page, so I clicked done and it moved them.

I waited a day to see if I was a glitch then called them and asked them If they could send me a new receipt showing the seat assignments and they transferred me to the ticketing department and told me the ticket had been reissued and sent the new receipt showing both the flights in delta one and then shortly after I got a email from Chase saying there was an itinerary change showing the Hong Kong to lax in delta one.

Has anyone experienced this or have any insight on why it did?

Premium select is nearly empty and there was only 3 delta one seats when this happen.

I recently moved to Atlanta from Huntsville. I frequently fly to the northeast (Vermont). Earlier when I was flying from HSV, most of the time I was transferring from ATL. When I moved to ATL a few months ago, I thought my flights would be cheaper since it would be a direct flight. However, to my surprise, I found that the fares were a bit higher than what I used to pay from HSV. And now, with airfares generally being much higher than usual, I noticed that the price from HSV has barely gone up, but it's significantly higher from ATL (for example, the cheapest ones being $329 from HSV vs $449 from ATL, both roundtrip and for the same dates). Is this normal? Any advice?

Got served this 'roasted chicken' on a transatlantic flight in D1. I know the bar is low when it comes to food but come on Delta, this was literally inedible. Let this be a reminder to always pack a Gas X Extra Strength

Watched this checked box miss its flight from Austin to Seattle. Boarded the plane and watched it get put aside and left. The Seattle flight was just on the other side of the concourse. Next truck that came looked at it and just shook his head (25 minutes until SEA departure at that point). Another came, looked at it and actually radioed someone (15 minutes to go). Nobody came. We pushed back for JFK after the SEA flight.

I wanted to share my positive experience today.

- Flight DCA-DTW got cancelled
- Skyclub agent booked me on an American flight.
- American flight got cancelled
- Phone agent went above and beyond to fix my semi-complicated multi city itinerary for the rest of the week, kept my first class upgrades, and I got a hotel stay for tonight + uber rides to the hotel and back to the airport tomorrow via a very easy to use voucher.

Unideal to have multiple cancellations, but overall delta really came through to help me the best they could, 10/10.

Just received an email from United with a "special New York‑area offer." I am not sure how special the offer is, maybe more accelerated than regular status matches, but they are looking to poach if anyone is interested.

I will not be going for it this time around because I am sticking with Delta in the hopes quality remains as good as it has been in the last several years, and don't want to use up a status match that I may need in the future. But I am tempted due to Delta prices, recent inconsistent service, slow wifi, and low value of SkyMiles.

What they are saying on their status match site about my DL Diamond is:

"The equivalent level in MileagePlus is Premier 1K"

So, if interested, look out for that email from UA, or reach out to them. Maybe it is beyond NYC area, but that is the message that I got.

We all saw the recent reports on how much AmEx is paying Delta with their partnership, but yesterday was the first time I heard a DL FA pushing the credit card on the flight. He even had a QR code on his badge for an "easy sign up" that he pointed out. It was also a high bonus skypesos amount (at least compared to most new sign up/retention offers). It was like 125k for a new card, and he said we could only get that through him in flight, like an as seen on TV ad.

I've heard other airlines do this as SOP with cards, but if I do fly non-DL, it's B6 or WN, so I kind of expect it from them, but I'm not sure if that's every flight or random with the legacy carriers. I primarily fly DL though, and go to ATL weekly now, and don't recall ever hearing a card push like that. Normally we just get accosted in the terminals to sign up.

Is this going to be the new norm for DL? Can any FAs chime in anonymously if this is a corporate push to hit that $10bil mark or just one FA trying to hit a quota or something? I searched the sub and didn't see anything recent being talked about.

Not a big deal obviously, 1st world problem, it just was very odd hearing it on a Delta flight. Curious if anyone else has had this recently or if anyone knows if this is going to be SOP for them too.

Edit: I also seem to be getting a bunch of downvotes, didn't mean to ruffle feathers. This wasn't meant as a dig at Delta either, I'm clearly a loyalist at this point. I was just curious if I've been lucky with not hearing it or if they were implementing it more. Seems like it's either sporadic or flight based, given the responses so far.

I think I might hit Platinum for the first time. What's a good pick for the choice benefit? It looks like maybe people in this subreddit go for the 4 regional upgrade certificates. Anyone get anything else?

Hoping to get some guidance, flying KLM Business Class from LAX to AMS tomorrow. The flight was booked directly through KLM. Does this make me eligible to use the Delta One lounge at LAX and the exclusive entrance?

I was looking to book a trip to Punta Cana in late December but I’m not seeing direct flights on Delta from MSP. Did I miss the announcement that this route has been cut? Internet searches have not been helpful for me.

I’m flying Delta out of Athens (ATH) back to the US on an afternoon flight this summer. With the new EU Entry/Exit System (EES) biometrics live, I’ve heard non-EU exit passport control at ATH has been pretty backed up.

Are window shades required by the FAA to be open for takeoff and landing on US commercial airlines?

Hi all - I am considering the exit row seat 16C. The only info I can find online is that it has extra pitch and that I might not be able to stow a bag under the seat in front if me (one source says just during takeoff and landing). Does anyone know if that is true? I like having extra room, but I would also like my bag within reach. Thank you.

So we have a cruise planned for next September out of Florida. Last year my wife and her friend bought awesome round trip tickets to Italy on black friday through delta. Like to good to be true. Ill need approximately 6 tickets for NC to Fort Lauderdale. Would I get the best deal if I waited till Black Friday or is there a better time?

On a domestic flight this week,I will be landing at DTW gate B19 and my connecting flight will be at gate A8. My connection time is 40 minutes. I have a bad knee (needs to be replaced) and can walk most of the time OK, but definitely at a slower pace. I looked at the airport map and the distance between those two seems like a long haul. I am flying FC so I will be at the front of the plane, if that helps. (The other option was $400 more expensive and had a 3.5 hour layover.). I was hoping I would have flights landing/connecting at gates that were close. That did not happen. Sigh. Can it be done in that amount of time by someone who has to go slower, or should I just resign myself to signing up for wheelchair assistance on this trip? Thanks.

Family member has been enrolled in Delta Touch-less. They recently noticed a message “Touchless ID needs your attention.

This morning they turned off the Opt-in button and back in and it showed enrolled. Now this evening the same need your attention message appear. Any insight suggestion on fixing this? Thanks.

Curious about how this works - do they move a couple off the upgrade list into seats that aren't next to each other? I'd be fine with that (rather get an upgrade than sit next to each other, especially on a long haul flight ;), but not sure if they do that. I don't see any place on the site to indicate a choice, either.

Last 3 flights I have been on and I can’t connect to Paramount. I can login to the WiFi and everything works but Paramount. I have tried turning the phone on/ofd, reconnecting to WiFi, and deleting/reinstalling the P+ app. Nothing works.

My flighr was canceled yesteeday out of Boston. I rebooked for tomorrow. In the meantime, they also added me on standby for tonights flight. I contacted an agent on fhe status of tonight via msg. They insisted I was confirmed for tonight and I would be going out. I was only on "standby" for which seat (the gate agent had to select which seat). I asked multiple times in multiple ways if I was guaranteed to go out. With this info, I decided to pay for an uber and a bus ride ($28). Now I am likely going to have to pay the same to go back home only.to do it all over again tomorrow. I am on standby on an oversold flight. Theres no seati waiting for me.

I know its not a lot money. But its upsetting bc the agent provided incorrect info. What should I do? What can I do? Its right there in the messages. How can I have some accountability?

2nd question/issue: my significant other was searching for earlier flights (she had the option) and got the only open seat on tonights flight. I couldnr find the samw.option so I messaged Delta. They said that if they added me.to standby I would automatically be added to the flight if it opened up. True or.false?

Anybody know what’s going on with this plane? It just flew over low on the Hudson in a way not common and I see it’s been circling for awhile despite fine weather
