Help/Advice Question on seat 16C - A320

Upvotes

Hi all - I am considering the exit row seat 16C. The only info I can find online is that it has extra pitch and that I might not be able to stow a bag under the seat in front if me (one source says just during takeoff and landing). Does anyone know if that is true? I like having extra room, but I would also like my bag within reach. Thank you.

Discussion KLM Business Class - Delta One Access?

Upvotes

Hello All,

Hoping to get some guidance, flying KLM Business Class from LAX to AMS tomorrow. The flight was booked directly through KLM. Does this make me eligible to use the Delta One lounge at LAX and the exclusive entrance?

I am returning to work from disability leave and accepted a conditional job offer in another state, will I start the badging process in the new station or old? I live in the new state I accepted the conditional job offer. Also, my start date is 8/31 does that mean I will actually start on that date or can I start sooner?

Discussion Group upgrades

Upvotes

Does anyone know the full rules on how grouped tickets are put on the upgrade list? I have 3 main scenarios from my own personal experience but I’d like to fill in the whole story.

  1. If I am flying with someone without status we both get on the list at my status level.

  2. When my family of 4 travels together on one reservation we all have status and we are placed together according to whoever has the highest status.

  3. When my family of 4 traveled with 2 other people with no status none of us made the list.

Idk if anyone else has experience with this, but like if 5 people have silver and the 6th has diamond do all 6 people get top of the list? Just curious as to how this works bc even delta doesn’t seem to know. They always say 4 people can’t be on the list when this literally happens every time we all fly together.

News Easy 2k bonus miles with Airbnb Experiences

Just got an email today from Delta about their expanded partnership with Airbnb.

Looks like any Airbnb experience booking made by August 6th gets 2k bonus miles (https://news.delta.com/go-beyond-summer-deltas-sun-drenched-offers-are-back-bonus-miles-travel-deals-and-more)

Nice little bonus for anyone traveling in the next month.

Discussion Question: do you think I can get Delta to give me my checked bag at each transfer point?

Hi all, I've traveled plenty but I've never been very particular, and I wanted to know if Delta would accommodate me on this.

I'm on a tight budget and going on a backpacking trip. My entire means of surviving (minus wallet, etc.) will be in my backpack. It's probably too big to carry on and will have to be checked, and I am very anxious about it getting lost, given that my flight has two layovers, each of 50 minutes.

Do you think I could bring the backpack to the gate, have them check it there, and they would be willing to bring it up to me at the arrival gate at each transfer? I'm looking for the least obnoxious and most secure way to go about it.

Edit: Thank you all for the help! More generally I don't understand the many downvotes for a simple question, even if it may be a stupid one, but I guess r/delta holds itself to a standard higher and prouder than I do with my internet activities.

Discussion New Credit Card Push?

We all saw the recent reports on how much AmEx is paying Delta with their partnership, but yesterday was the first time I heard a DL FA pushing the credit card on the flight. He even had a QR code on his badge for an "easy sign up" that he pointed out. It was also a high bonus skypesos amount (at least compared to most new sign up/retention offers). It was like 125k for a new card, and he said we could only get that through him in flight, like an as seen on TV ad.

I've heard other airlines do this as SOP with cards, but if I do fly non-DL, it's B6 or WN, so I kind of expect it from them, but I'm not sure if that's every flight or random with the legacy carriers. I primarily fly DL though, and go to ATL weekly now, and don't recall ever hearing a card push like that. Normally we just get accosted in the terminals to sign up.

Is this going to be the new norm for DL? Can any FAs chime in anonymously if this is a corporate push to hit that $10bil mark or just one FA trying to hit a quota or something? I searched the sub and didn't see anything recent being talked about.

Not a big deal obviously, 1st world problem, it just was very odd hearing it on a Delta flight. Curious if anyone else has had this recently or if anyone knows if this is going to be SOP for them too.

Edit: I also seem to be getting a bunch of downvotes, didn't mean to ruffle feathers. This wasn't meant as a dig at Delta either, I'm clearly a loyalist at this point. I was just curious if I've been lucky with not hearing it or if they were implementing it more. Seems like it's either sporadic or flight based, given the responses so far.

Discussion Couple Upgrade Question

Curious about how this works - do they move a couple off the upgrade list into seats that aren't next to each other? I'd be fine with that (rather get an upgrade than sit next to each other, especially on a long haul flight ;), but not sure if they do that. I don't see any place on the site to indicate a choice, either.

News US House introduces bill to ban phone and video calls on planrs. Call your congress critters and tell them you support this.

The Quiet Skies Act, H.R. 9530 introduced June 19, 2026 by Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-MI), Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ), Rep. Rick Crawford (R-AR), and Rep. Rob Bresnahan (R-PA)

In 2018 legislation was passed telling the FAA to ban voice calls through portable electronics on planes, but they never got around to it. This bill requires them to enact the rule within 180 of the bill's enactment.

You can track the status at congress.gov

Call your reps and ask them to get this passed.

Help/Advice Anyone know where misaligned windows are on the A339 neo?

Hey fellow aviation enthusiasts / Delta statuspeople!

I'll be flying on DL81, an A330-900 neo from CDG to SEA and I want to be sure my companions & I get as much view as possible.

At the moment the only available windows are over the wing, which I'm not thrilled about, but still better than not having a view of sky.

We are currently in 38A, 39A and 39B, and 40A. And the suuuper tall guy who values leg room over everything else is in 42B because it was the last exit row seat that was available.

I'm just hoping we don't get on the plane and find ourselves with badly aligned windows. (Extra window-ness is fine though! 😁).

We also might move further back (off the wing) if some of those window seats open up. So we're asking not *only* about port side 38/39/40 -- ideally we'd like to know where ALL misaligned and missing windows are on that aircraft.

*This is the kind of thing I used to be able to just go to seatguru for. **RIP seatguru.** And yes I went to Aerolopa; alas, it was no help.*

All insights welcome and appreciated, thank you!!

Help/Advice Flying ATH to US on Delta this summer- how early to arrive with new EES checks

I’m flying Delta out of Athens (ATH) back to the US on an afternoon flight this summer. With the new EU Entry/Exit System (EES) biometrics live, I’ve heard non-EU exit passport control at ATH has been pretty backed up.
For anyone who’s flown out of Athens to the US recently:

How early did you get there? Is 3 hours enough, or should I push for 3.5–4 hours?

Appreciate any recent DP’s or advice. Thanks!

Discussion Flights from ATL cost significantly more than flights with transfer at ATL

I recently moved to Atlanta from Huntsville. I frequently fly to the northeast (Vermont). Earlier when I was flying from HSV, most of the time I was transferring from ATL. When I moved to ATL a few months ago, I thought my flights would be cheaper since it would be a direct flight. However, to my surprise, I found that the fares were a bit higher than what I used to pay from HSV. And now, with airfares generally being much higher than usual, I noticed that the price from HSV has barely gone up, but it's significantly higher from ATL (for example, the cheapest ones being $329 from HSV vs $449 from ATL, both roundtrip and for the same dates). Is this normal? Any advice?

Discussion Has anyone successfully gotten more than the $30 eCredit?

Had one of those classic 12-hour delay days because of weather last month. Wrote an email to them about the situation and just got my $30 eCredit for the inconvenience.

For what it’s worth, we also paid extra for a smaller airport much closer to us but ended up needing to fly into to the international airport way on the other side of the county.

For those who’ve been through this, is $30 the best we’ll get, or has anyone successfully gotten more?
