Video When people complain about how "you can't joke about sensitive issues anymore", show them this video

Hey everyone! I'm u/peajay18, the new moderator of r/crazyexgirlfriend.
This is our new home for all things related to the amazing CW musical comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
We're excited to have you here!
What to Post
Post anything that you think the community would find interesting, helpful, or inspiring. Feel free to share your thoughts, videos, pictures, fanart, or questions about the show, it's cast or anything related to it.
Community Vibe
We're all about being friendly, constructive, and inclusive. Let's build a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing and connecting.
I have tided up the sub as much as possible (there were over 500 unmoderated reports and removals that needed attention).
I've re-branded the sub logos and headers, and have re-worded the message that new members get in the hope of dissuading the type of lost redditor that the sub's name can attract. I've also reviewed the rules to make sure they are as clear as possible.
How to Get Started
Thanks for being part of this new first wave.
I'm a relatively active mod, so please message us with any issues or questions, and please keep reporting unsuitable posts and comments.
Together, let's make r/crazyexgirlfriend amazing!

The CW is known for shows like Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, and Riverdale. And now, one of the network's most underseen yet near-perfect comedy series will be available to stream for free soon in the United States: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is joining the Pluto TV catalog in the United States on August 1, 2026.

I wonder, what were the storylines that bothered you the most about the show?
For me it's two things, and they dampen my enjoyment of the show a little bit:
- The whole business with Darryl's baby. Surrogacy is a questionable topic for a reason, and the way they did it on the show, with Heather not even having had her own kids yet, is even more questionable.
- The ending with all the three guys fighting for Rebecca. I know a lot of people love her "choosing herself" in the end, but the fact that three of her exes just run back to her after all the damage she's done (and after the damage they did to her) feels kind of contradictory to the message of the show, imo. Dealing with your mental illness and discovering who you truly are does not automatically mean all your past destroyed relationships are going to be mended and people are going to throw themselves at the new enlightened version of you; it actually feels like the kind of a delusional thing oldRebecca would tell herself. I feel like Greg is the worst example of this, they shouldn't have recast him and made him go back to confessing his love for Rebecca. Sometimes our shitty actions make us lose important people in our lives and there's no going back and acknowledging that is also a part of healing.

Or should be left as is? It be fun to revisit these characters, see where they are in life, hear new songs. On the other end I was really satisfied with the ending, I always knew she’d choose herself but seeing music be her love was really inspiring.

I hope this is allowed on this sub! But a lot of people have told me that this is very Crazy Ex Girlfriend coded (punn-y lyrics about an unhinged woman lol)- and I'm a HUGE fan of the show and Rachel Bloom, so I thought I would share here. <3
Basically, I do nostalgia/comedy content and I wrote a song and created a music video about a woman obsessed with her local meteorologist set in the 90s. It's 100% original and was a labor of love and just want to get it out there to people who would enjoy it! I love the local on the 8s vibe of the retro weather channel. It also features an epic sax solo from another indie musician.
It's also streaming - Retro Avocado- Mrs. Meteorology
Hope you enjoy, and again, sorry if this isn't allowed.

It's incredible how most of my favourite songs turn out to be from this season. Also I love old Greg lol, he's my spirit animal, and Santino Fontana's voice is sooo good. It's obvious he was supposed to be an integral cast member.
Makes me a bit scared to continue with later seasons... I know there's good stuff there too but like is it as good?..

Donna just opened in “ The Loved Ones” at the Irish Repertory in NYC. Saw this picture and had to share.

It's produced by an accounting software company, and it's bizarrely an actual sitcom. Seasons 1 and 2 were in 2022, so it's weird that it's back all of a sudden.

💭😴👻 I'm glad that this show's music follows me everywhere.
For context, pokémon have problems, and I'm here to help them á la dream ghost.

"We’re deep-diving into the West Covina archives for a night of earworm tunes, love triangles, and the kind of beautiful chaos only Rebecca Bunch can provide!
Our setlist for the night:
Come for the musical numbers, stay for the spiral. 💃"

When I watch musical numbers with lots of dancing, I get a joyful warm spark in my chest and my belly - it's a celebration of the artistry, the movement, the enjoyable music, the campiness - a combination that you don't really get anywhere else.
Does anyone get this emotion? What do you call it? It's joy but it's also so specific.

Impromptu midnight painting but this show shaped me as a young woman

Some postings on Amazon and even Walmart said they were bootlegs, the others are super expensive, which sucks but I can do it, but on top of it they are unavailable.
Am I SOL?

She plays (to paraphrase a line in the film) a woman who would be hot, except she is wearing glasses. Trailer here

Something that always cracks me up is when Rachel Bloom's voice goes super deep and she puts on a smarmy tone, like a car salesman or game show host.
I first noticed this in her My Little Pony appearance (recovering brony here, forgive me!) when she says "Seriously, there's only so long Sudoku can KEEP YOU ENTERTAINED!" but she does it in a few songs in CXG too. Here are all the examples I can think of:
Does anyone know any other memorable times Rachel talked like this?

There is such an endless list of lines in this show that are small lines but are such genius things to say as far as comedy goes. The writers of the show have some supreme things that really just make you laugh if you think about actually hearing them in a real conversation.
An example of this would be when Rebecca and Josh go to the bar mitzvah for her cousin and are staying with Rebecca's mom. At one point Josh and Rebecca start to have sex and mom busts in the room.
She says the line "all right, well, put your pickle back in your pants and let's go thaw some fish."
And for some I can't breathe I'm laughing so hard. I've watched all four seasons and infinite amount of times so there are so many lines like this that just make me laugh so hard.
Another another personal favor is the episode called who is Josh's soup fairy? When Josh has the sponsor run my show, white Josh says "oh God it's happening. I've left my body. I'm hovering around the room." I will never not find that one of the funniest effin things I've ever seen.
Anyone else?
