Heyho folks,
maybe you can help me out in finding a wargame or a mod that fits my urge.
I just finished and enjoyed Strategic Command WW1 for a very relaxing beer and pretzel experience and with it, I found out what I personally really search in wargames (which funnily, isn't really Strategic Command).
What I'm searching is basically a Gary Grigsby War in the East 2 in depth with Sandbox elements but without a strategic or very simplified politics/ production layer.
So, basically:
- Very Deep Combat
- Deep Logistics (in terms of managing supply lines or multiples)
- Sandbox ability (imagine Gary Grigsbys War in the East 2 but with the ability to plan Barbarossa yourself with unit creation and/or placement)
- No Inner Politics or Economy simulation, maximum of very simplified Production/ Research. Diplomacy is okay (Strategic Command was I think a good abstract)
PlusPoints if it isn't set in WW2 but I could live with it, all other kinds of settings are fine.
What I looked at so far:
Shadow Empire - Too complex politics
Warplan - Didn't really felt the combat, maybe I have to give it another go - however in that instance I probably wait for Total Victory
Flashpoint Campaigns - From the level it is too tactical for my current urge
I think Ultimate Admiral Dreadnought is a good representation, but maybe as a Hex-Game and on Land?
But hey, maybe I'm also searching for something that doesn't exist.
