Send us a ModMail and tell us. Do not post on the board, message us using this link: https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=/r/CitiBank
You do not need to identify yourself personally or your branch or location, just say something that lets us know your request is valid.
For now, we're only planning on a general 'Employee' flair text, but if you want a special designation of your job field, we may be able to do that.
REMEMBER, This is NOT an official support channel and no one should be asking for or offering account specific details, or revealing internal information.

Hi everyone,
I'm currently undergoing Citi India's background verification through First Advantage (FADV) and wanted to know if anyone has faced something similar.
Here's my timeline:
Completed my FADV application on 6 July 2026.
FADV later asked for clarification regarding an employment gap, and I provided the requested information.
The portal gradually progressed from 70% → 80% → 90% complete.
Throughout this time, the status remained "In Progress" and the case notes showed "Record Ordered.
Today I contacted FADV customer support through chat to check the status. They informed me that my resume had been pending since 7 July. They said they had already notified Citi, but Citi never contacted me to upload it.
The support agent asked me to upload my resume in the chat, and they attached it to my case.
About 4 hours later, I checked the portal again and noticed the progress had dropped from 90% back to 80%. The status is still "In Progress", and the case notes still say "Record Ordered."
Also, yesterday was my last working day at my previous company, so I'm a bit concerned about the delay since I'm waiting for my onboarding.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Is it normal for the progress percentage to decrease after FADV adds a missing document?
Does this mean the case has been reopened, or is it just the portal recalculating the progress?
How long did your Citi/FADV background verification take after reaching this stage?
I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through Citi/FADV background verification. Thanks!

For context: I completed both a first round interview, a coding OA, and a 3 round super day for this internship position (summer 2027). I applied in January, got the first interview in late/mid April. I got an initial super day invite in early may for mid may. I completed the super day mid June due to finals. I think I performed very well on the super day and I got an email about a week ago stating that my application is “on hold” as they “evaluate the applicant pool.”
I kept following up and will follow up in around another week as the email stated “get back to you in the coming weeks.”
What is the course of action here? Am I being rejected/a second option, or am I in the running and they are just being slow?
Any advice would help 🙏.

Has anyone run into this issue before? Citi requested my W-2 for verification and I sent it to the email they provided. That was 2 weeks ago and I’ve not heard anything and my application status hasn’t changed at all. What should I do here?

I have a security deposit box at a Citibank branch in California. Last year I paid $65 for the year. I went in their two weeks ago and asked what I would pay for another year, as I knew I would owe them as of August. They said $65. But then I just got a bill for $200!!
I have two credit cards with them and $100,000 in an IRA account. Does anyone know what is going on here?

Hi everyone,
My application passed the screening for the GenAI Junior Developer role, and I’ve now been assigned the Codility test. I noticed that this position is hiring multiple candidates and mentions bringing in a cohort of new grads, so I’m hoping that works in my favor.
For some background, I have one SWE internship and a couple of ML/AI projects, but I’m still a little nervous about the hiring process. I haven’t done LeetCode or heavier DSA problems in over a year. That said, I feel confident in my understanding of ML and AI concepts, and I’d love to learn more about the full interview process.
Does anyone know what the different rounds look like after the Codility test? Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Been in a hiring process at Citi NY for a senior role for a couple of months. Was approached about it, had several conversations with people in the business, feedback was positive and I was told I was a strong candidate by people in the team.
Process then dragged. After a follow-up I was told they were still looking at candidates and hoped to wrap up in a few weeks. That deadline passed. Followed up again, this time no response. Mixed signals since.
Someone in the market mentioned they’d heard the team may have identified a candidate, wasn’t certain who (may or may not be me). Separately, someone else was told they’re still working through the process. No rejection, no next steps, no response to my last message.
Moving on with other things and won’t be following up again.
Curious if anyone here has seen this before. Does this sound like being kept warm as a backup, or can Citi hiring genuinely take this long at senior levels ie HR
/internal approval?

I applied for the Citi Custom Cash a day before it closed applications (as I’m sure so many did) **but I had zero prior relationship with Citi.** I got approved, I have had the card for almost a month and a half, have a statement and statement balance that show up on Credit Karma and Experian’s apps, and yet I still don’t see a hard inquiry anywhere I look. I’ve looked all over this sub, Credit, and Credit score subs while also searching online and can’t find anything that would indicate this should be possible. Should I expect one to show up on my credit report within the next month? Has a similar situation ever happened to you or someone you know? And finally if this does show up on one or all of my credit reports, is the inquiry likely to fall off in 22 months or 24 months if somehow it was delayed?

Does Citi app still have the round up feature for debit and credit card purchases for saving? Like if you spend $19.51 on a card it takes the .49 cents and puts it into an account automatically? I use hundreds of transactions a month it was nice feature can’t seem to find it anywhere and I don’t think it’s working anymore

I applied for a citibank card, I was approved for the card, then the page completely froze on account creation. It was the official citi bank website so it wasn't a phishing site, and the error seemed to be on the banks end in the fact that chrome errored out. Anyone else have this experience? I have no clue if im getting this card or not.

Last month I applied for the CITI Double Cash card and was turned down.
I have a credit score of 835, high income, and no debt. I have always paid off my credit cards on time. I also spend quite a bit on each card per month.
I have gotten three new credit cards (including Citi Strata Elite and AA Globe) since December and two AMEX cards for my business. My last card was back in March.
I did not think CITI was going to be so tough.
Any thoughts?

I alerted my rm (some random guy they switched me to without warning this year) about my account reverting to prior miniscule rate after month and change at the 3.75 i was promised for 90 days for transferring in more cash. he made some more careless mistakes trying to fix this then said he would take care of it. this was at the beginning of July. I got tired of waiting and not hearing back for two weeks then called my original rm and she said she would tell him how to fix it and that it was employee error. that was a week ago. Now I am hearing nothing from her about whether she was even able to reach him. Should I wait a bit longer or try to esaclate. And if so, to whom.

Did my 10 $10 Paze transactions and credits through Wells Fargo, BoA, and even a Costco Citi card and they all processed within a few business days. But Citi Custom for whatever reason has not. Anyone else have delays with this card for the credits? Transactions were made same day as the other cards and still waiting. Thanks

Married for 1.5 years recently and my husband has just arrived in Canada as a permanent resident. We’re currently looking for employment opportunities for him.
I read my company’s policy on hiring relatives, but it was written in very technical language, so I’m posting here to get some practical insight. I’ve never disclosed my marital status at work because I consider it a personal matter. While my teammates often chat about their families, I’ve chosen to keep my personal life private so I have not discussed this matter with anyone.
I worked as vendor since 2021 and became full-time employee in late 2025. I’m currently at C11- officer role.
I’m considering referring my husband for a Business Analyst role under a different manager within the same project. My manager (Manager A) and the hiring manager (Manager B) both report to the same Senior Manager (Manager C) and ultimately the same Director.
Would this typically be considered a conflict of interest or a deal-breaker for hiring a spouse? Or is it generally acceptable as long as the spouse doesn’t report directly or indirectly to me? Would the Director also need to be different, or is sharing the same Director usually not an issue?

Robotic, inflexible thinking, poorly cognitively equipped to deal with any task outside of reading anything off of the customer's statement.
You literally lost my business because of this.

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to learn more about Citi’s Global Strategy and Macro Research team, particularly in New York. I’ve come across some general information about the group, but there doesn’t seem to be much discussion online about its structure or day-to-day work.
I’d really appreciate any insight from people who have worked with the team or are familiar with it. In particular, I’m curious about:
I understand that experiences can vary by desk, location, and manager, so even general observations would be very helpful. I’m genuinely interested in understanding the nature of the role and how the group fits within Citi’s broader Markets and Research platform.
Thank you in advance for any insights!
