Send us a ModMail and tell us. Do not post on the board, message us using this link: https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=/r/TDBank

You do not need to identify yourself personally or your branch or location, just say something that lets us know your request is valid.

For now, we're only planning on a general 'Employee' flair text, but if you want a special designation of your job field, we may be able to do that.

Provisional credit

Put in a claim in on 7/2 through td bank app about a debit card transaction that I was charged twice by the merchant. They gave me a provisional credit for the amount the next day. Last week, I received a letter from td saying they needed more information or contract between me and the merchant to be faxed to them or else the provisional credit will be reversed. I faxed them all the paperwork. I’m just wondering when they are going to tell me if the provisional credit is permanent or they are going to take reverse it. Anyone have experience with this? How long does it take them to process the claim?

Can I close my TD Bank account while I’m overseas?

Hi everyone,
I’ll be leaving Canada permanently soon, but I still have a few refunds that will be deposited into my TD chequing account after I leave.
Because of that, I don’t want to close the account before I depart.
Has anyone successfully closed their TD Bank account while living overseas?
Were you able to do it over the phone, or did you have to visit a branch in person?
Did TD require any additional identity verification?
Was there anything you wish you had done before leaving Canada to make the process easier?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences. Thanks!

Refund process (need advice/help)

Last Wednesday (July 15th) I tried to place an order with a Pizza Hut in my city using their website. After putting in my card details, I waited for a few minutes for the order to process, however it came back saying "payment failure".

For some reason, Pizza Hut's system took the money out my bank account. I called them that night to explain what happened and was told "don't worry, it'll be back in your account soon". Well, that never happened.

The following day (Thursday, July 16th), I called Pizza Hut to speak to a manager and he confirmed that the money was taken by error and that they began the refund process and it should be back in my bank account within 24 hours. Again, that never happened.

Frustrated, I called them up on Friday afternoon to tell them I still haven't got the refund. I asked the manager for a reference number for the refund and he said he'd have to call me back later with that info once he checked their system. He called back about six hours later and told me that he emailed me proof that they've completed the refund process on their end. Everything in the PDF he sent me is correct and does show that they've done whatever they've needed to do on there end.

That brings us to today - Tuesday, July 21st, 5 days after Pizza Hut processed the refund. I still have not received the refund and honestly, have no clue what else to do here. Pizza Hut has proof that they've done it, but the money still isn't in my account.

Anyone have any advice? Does TD Bank (Canada) take long to process these refunds? I'm assuming there's a hold up on the bank's side of things considering that Pizza Hut has done their job.

Thanks.

TD Charged me 10000% of Wire Transfer Fee

Clickbaity title, but mathematically correct. I had an international transfer of about $1100 come in. The wire transfer fee should be $15, but td accidentally charged me $1500. I called them and it got sorted out fairly quickly, but I thought others should know cause this could really mess with someone's ability to pay bills. The accidental charge was more than the wire transfer, so if I didn't already have some money in there, it could have been a lot worse. So if you have incoming wire transfers, double check your account history and make sure you were charged the right amount.

TD bank, the bank meant for the rich (Rant)

Getting sick and tired of dealing with TD. Always issues with the app or online, not being able to access money that is rightfully mine.. holding money when I cash cheques, Overpriced banking fees, card issues. The list goes on

TD is meant for those that have extra money and dont really care or notice these additional fees. It is not meant for those of us struggling with our money day to day

The rich are getting richer and its honestly sickening what they can get away with because they are a popular brand

Switching to Tangerine or Koho was my best bet. No hidden fees, gives you all of your money when you cash a cheque, no withdrawal fees, amazing offers and never once had an issue with their websites, apps or customer service.

Sorry for my Rant im just so annoyed at a brand I (and my family) have been loyal to for years getting away with this shit.

Are TD systems compromised?

Like roughly twice in the last month roughly I've walked to my branch and they say TD is down across the country. Last time was a monday. Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence and if it happens again will that be a pattern?

Is my banking information safe with TD?

Thank you for choosing TD Insurance for your insurance needs. We're here to support

you every step of the way, always.

Sincerely,

Need advice dealing with TD Insurance / emergency restoration bill (Quebec)

I'm beyond frustrated and could really use some advice.

My basement flooded, and TD Insurance has approved my repair estimate. The problem is that they're paying almost $15,000 directly to the emergency restoration company (Citebec) for the initial mitigation work.

The issue is that I also have around $8,000 worth of damaged personal belongings, and I'm worried I'm getting left with almost nothing for those losses.

Has anyone successfully disputed an emergency restoration invoice like this? Can I ask TD to review or audit the charges? The amount seems incredibly high for the work that was done, and I'd like to know what my options are before accepting everything.

Has anyone dealt with TD or Citebec in a similar situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is it normal to be on a TD waiting list for months with no response from HR?

I got accepted to work with TD in March after successfully completing two interviews and then I was placed on a waiting list
About a month ago, HR contacted me about some open branch positions. I replied to them but I never received a response
I sent them a follow up email month ago and there was no response
Then about two weeks ago I sent another follow-up emails to all of the HR representatives who interviewed me, and I still haven’t heard back

Is this normal? What should I do?

Flock cameras tracking TD Bank users now?

My local branch is on a fairly busy intersection so it was no surprise when the city popped up new Flock Safety ALPR Ai cameras tracking every car that passes through it. There is 2 devices facing each direction of traffic movement. While this is a problem in and of itself, it's not why I'm posting.

On the banks corner, they've now installed a 3rd device except this one is clearly on TD Banks property in the center of the parking lot. This camera is pointed directly at the front door of the bank, the ATM area and half the parking lot, capturing every car and pedestrian who uses the bank. Why did TD install or allow this 3rd party company to install one of these devices to track its customers?

Flock themselves promote that these cameras can read what a person is typing on their phone from quite the distance so what's stopping a bad actor from using this system to steal critical identity information?

Flock Safety's system has already been abused more times than we yet know with multiple LEO from across the country using these cameras to stalk women, partners, ex's, random strangers, etc. Every other week a new story comes out. Equally as bad is that the Flock systems have delivered multiple false positives causing innocent people to go to jail for crimes in states they've never been to. Local municipalities across the country have paid out millions of tax dollars in law suits due to these false arrests, which were directly caused by Flock Safety's cameras and Ai tracking software.

Even beyond the privacy concerns and constitutional questionnability of Flock Safety's entire buisness model, these devices present a huge libalility to anyone who installs them.

TD Bank hold payoff letter hostage

TD Bank claims after 8 days that they are unable to produce a payoff letter for our zero balance heloc. They say they do not know when they will be able to get the letter, it could be 60-90 days. This is not the release letter, just a payoff amount letter. It is jeopardizing our sale closing and our purchase closing. They are claiming computer problem.

What a nightmare.

Has anyone heard anything about the August 23rd/24th TD Bank training class?

I interviewed for a Contact Center Representative position with TD Bank back on June 18th. The interview went well, and I was told I’d hear back within 24–48 hours, but it’s been weeks.
My application is still showing “In Progress” (not “Not Selected”), and I’ve already followed up by email and phone with no response.
I’m mainly wondering if anyone has received an offer, background check, phone call, rejection, or any communication for the August 23rd/24th training class. I’m trying to figure out if they’re still making calls or if everything has already gone out.
If you were hired for that class (or are in the same situation), I’d really appreciate hearing your timeline

Thanks!

Remote work affecting federally regulated employees

Hello Everyone! The House of Commons E7142 Petition to allow provisions into the labour code for remote work is ending Wednesday at 4:15 PM - As of right now it has received just under 60,000 signatures and we need to hit that target so its imperative that anyone who aligns with the values of remote work sign it. Remote work allows savings and better for overall mental health. According to FlexJobs, fully remote work can save upto $12,000 USD per year for a person. If that is worth anything to you please sign this. Here is the link: https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-7142

Who will this help? The Canada Labour Code sets minimum labour standards for federally regulated employees, including banking, telecommunications, transportation, postal services, pipelines, and Crown corporations.

TD Canada Banking details for FIFA Ticket Refund

Hi! I'm trying to enter my bank details to get paid for the tickets I sold of FIFA. So the TD Swift Code is TDOMCATTTOR.

What would the Account Number be? The 5 digit Transit Number and the 7 Digit Bank account number without any spaces (12 digits in total)?

And Bank Routing Number Should be left as 0?

Also TD has an 11 digit customer account number for wire transfers. Should i use that for the account number instead?

Any help would be appreciated.

Transaction Verification for Resale (TD Bank)?

I'm just off my second phone call with Ticketmaster and have to call back a third time.

I am located in Canada and relisted tickets for a concert taking place in Canada. I updated my banking account (TD Bank) in order to get my payout but I am not receiving the two deposits in order to verify my account. I've deleted and re-added my account information a number of times to try and get it to work, but the deposits never come through. I've confirmed that my taxpayer information is updated and valid.

The first time I called Ticketmaster, she (despite my trying to delete and re-add my account information for a couple of months) suggested deleting my banking and trying my chequing account again and waiting the 3-5 business days, and if that didn't work, to try my savings.

I deleted everything, put my chequing account information in again and waited like 8 business days with no luck. So I deleted that and entered my savings account information and waited 8 more business days.

I just got off the phone with them and despite my telling them again that I have already been doing what they are telling me to do, and that on my last phone call they told me to try both accounts, she then tells me it can't be a savings account.

I said fine, however I just explained repeatedly that I have had my chequing account information entered multiple times up to this point and that the deposits are not coming through. They tell me they "understand" but to delete everything and enter my chequing account information AGAIN and wait ANOTHER 3-5 days and call them back AGAIN.

I'm wondering if I should contact TD to see if it's something on their end? Otherwise Ticketmaster isn't going to get a pleasant person on the phone when I have to call back again in 2 weeks.

Considering using a US TD Bank account when I travel to Canada

Hello folks,

I'm crossposting to multiple Reddits about this as I'm not sure which is better for this inquiry.

I am a US citizen who frequently travels to Canada (I live so close) and specifically the GTA. I was considering some options for transactions in Canada and for obtaining cash in Canada. Right now, I'm thinking of opening a US TD Bank checking account, as TD Bank is primarily Canadian, allows all clients to use any TD ATM (US and Canada), and overall seems more feasible and available than the other 4 of the Big 5 in Canada. Also, having a US account is easier for bank transfers.

Does anyone have any experience with this as a US TD client? Is having a TD Bank Canadian account better in this instance?

TD Forcing Me to Close Accounts

I tried to get money from TD ATM and said no and told me to go to branch. Spoke with teller and they told me to call fraud department. Spent 1 hour and they told me I did committed fraud and they told me to take my money somewhere else within 35 days.

Fraud Part:

I was helping out with elderly in-laws (who aren't digital) in getting their Canada Bread Settlement etransfers into my etransfer account and pay them out in cash. Apparently, this was fraud and criminal according to TD.

Unfortunately, I have been banking with TD for over 30+ years since I had a child account. It's a shame for TD to take a heavy hand over 49 dollars etransfer when it was with good intention for family members.

Questions:

A) Any recourse?

B) If forced to find a new banking institution, I'm looking for one that can take wire transfers into both CAD, USD accounts, any recommendations?
