I was after one of these for a while (Casio HGW-10) before I stumbled across this. Casio need to start producing these again!

After getting hooked on Casios about a year ago I quickly accumulated a little collection of 15 watches. I had been keeping them in their little plastic stands on a shelf in my room but I got tired of the cluttered look so I bought a case to keep them in. That case had 18 spaces in it...so three were empty. So, I decided I'd fill the remaining spots and then that would be it. Of course it didn't take long to find a couple nice inexpensive models to add which left me with one empty slot. For the last one I decided to splurge and spend a little more so I got a really nice Titanium Wave Ceptor. And now I'm done.

Today, the two quirky watches I’d been looking forward to finally arrived. Both were non-working, and I bought the pair for about $40.

The first one is the H110.
This is one of the earliest legendary Marlin models. On the case back (Photo 2), someone had hand-engraved what appears to be a birth date—“May 30, Showa 61 (1986)”—along with the name “Kawaguchi.”

The other one is the W-24.
Made in Hollywood? A G-SHOCK? A Marlin? A coelacanth?
It even boasts 200-meter water resistance, beating the H110’s 100 meters on paper.
It looks like a handmade watch built by some mysterious G-SHOCK fan.
And it gets even weirder.
Although it has a case back, it’s actually integrated into the case, so you have to remove the crystal to access the module.
To make things even more interesting, the battery is marked “Watch Cell” in Japanese katakana (Photo 3).
I can’t help but wonder about the history behind this watch.
In the end, the H110 came back to life with nothing more than a battery replacement.
As for the W-24, after removing most of the battery leakage from the circuit, it seems to be getting power. The LCD still doesn’t display anything, but surprisingly, the light works!

So, recently I've been working on my watch's backlit and display unit.

Task 1. Increase the brightness and do something with the oem light diffuser.

Task 2. Make my display negative.

What's Done successfully so far -

1. Made a multi layered light diffuser

2. Increased the brightness (ofcourse it will costs my battery life).

Problem rn -

1. Messed up the glue (I guess I need to buy pre-applied polarizing film).

So, now my display has air bubbles 🫧

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me find a horizontal polarizing film with pre-applied adhesive in India (₹ INR).

Wanna hear from you. Do you think it worth the pain/risk?

Saw someone post one the other day and it had great comments so I was curious an hit up my local Walmart and found one. The size I wish the F-91w was. Easier to read, way better light. An just about the same feel on the wrist. Would recommend one for sure

Since getting bx5600 havent wore my 5600ue once 😂 I think MIP is so great, I wont need another square. Beep noise isn’t crazy loud but deffinately louder than 5610u I had. Best daily beater.

And for any more formal ocasion the casioak is just perfect.

My beloved Casio watch. The one I’ve been wearing for the last five months- I think the battery is dying. It’s ticking two seconds at a time. I’m sad. I love wearing my watch. I have other watches but they’re all locked away in a storage unit several hundred miles from me. I can’t get to them. I’m sad because I’ve worn a watch all my life and I’ve never been in such a horrible place where I can’t buy anything or afford to have the battery replaced. Walmart has several Casio watches on Clearance but I can’t even afford to look at them.
Our lives have been a nightmare this year.

May be a little big but I’m in love with the look of it. Definitely worth the wait.

Anybody else get a rash from Casio watches with a rubber wristband? I get moisture trapped under the wristband and I get this nasty looking rash. Does anybody know how to deal with this? Do you use an ointment? I like the rubber wristbands since theyre durable but I always get a rash after using them :(

My wife gifted me this databank back in February for Valentine’s Day. While I showed her incredible appreciation for a thoughtful gift, at first, I was a little bit underwhelmed.

This style was more rectangular and had rounded edges in comparison to other databanks that I had seen and typically those are what I would go for. This is my first and right now only Calculator watch.

Fast-forward to now, and I have thrown this into the rotation more and more often, and it’s becoming one of my go to pieces on a weekly basis. I’ve come to find out that this fits my personality and style much more than I had thought it would initially.

Altogether, I think it goes to show that my wife put a lot of thought into choosing this specific model because she felt it fit my personality and she was right on target.
