Anybody else get a rash from Casio watches with a rubber wristband? I get moisture trapped under the wristband and I get this nasty looking rash. Does anybody know how to deal with this? Do you use an ointment? I like the rubber wristbands since theyre durable but I always get a rash after using them :(

I'm interested in getting my first watch and I thought no better place to start than with Casio!

I've narrowed it down to these two and I'm having a difficult time choosing. The deep royal blue is so eye catching but the blue on the right feels more elegant.

I'm a woman with smaller wrists, though they aren't tiny. I feel I would be in love with either one but I want to know others opinions! I'm just starting out and any insight will be mucho helpful.

There are a lot of popular Casios that everyone talks about, but I'm interested in the models that don't get enough recognition.

What Casio do you think has a great design, features, or modding potential but is overlooked by most people?

Has anyone here done a Casio LCD background mod before?

I'm planning to do a custom background mod on my Casio A168WEGG-1BEF. The idea is to print artwork on transparent film and place it between the glass and the LCD, so the white parts stay transparent and only the black ink is visible behind the display.

Does anyone here have experience with this kind of mod?

I'm especially interested in:

What type of transparent film did you use (laser or inkjet)?

Any tips to keep the display as readable as possible?

How much artwork can you place behind the LCD before it starts affecting visibility?

Any mistakes or lessons learned before I start?

Is the Japanese Import worth spending extra on? I assume they are exactly the same and the image for the regular one ($99) doesnt do it justice. I am willing to spend more on the Japan version but I already did order the $99 one.

Took forever to finally arrive, but my W-217H came today. I love my F91Ws, but I’m really liking the larger size of this watch as well.

What Casios were on y’all’s wrists today?

I wanted to put it on a nato strap… but the “khaki” one I got, the color is not even close and would look bad - color is darker and a bit off hue from the watch.

I really want a strap that matches the color closely. So if on the off chance anyone here has this model and managed to find a color matching nato strap, let me know. Otherwise, I think I would have to just trial and error order tan straps until I found one that matches well in person.

For now tho, I’ll just live with the rubber strap. I don’t mind rubber straps, but they just tend to get sweatier because they don’t breathe as much. Which is why I wanted to swap it.

I'm looking to add a gold Casio to my collection. One of the A1000s would be great (shoutout to Zohran) but they don't seem available.

Right now I'm leaning towards a A700WEMG-9AEF or A700WEVG-9A, but I'm definitely open.

I picked up a Casio A168WEM-1EF during a sale and loved the smoky faceplate and bracelet, but I just couldn't get along with the factory negative display. It looked great in photos, but I found it difficult to read in everyday use.

So I swapped in an STN positive display that I originally bought from AliExpress for another project, and I honestly think it completely transforms the watch.

The combination of the STN display and the smoked crystal works much better than I expected. It's significantly easier to read, the viewing angles are excellent, and it still keeps that stealthy, monochrome look. To me, it almost looks like something Casio could have released as a factory variant.

I've included a comparison with my F-105 as well. The F-105 is still a bit crisper, but I'm really impressed with how well the STN display works behind the tinted lens.

I'm genuinely surprised by how much I like it now—I can easily see this becoming one of my daily-wear Casios.

What do you think? Do you prefer the original negative display, or would you make the same swap?

My wife gifted me this databank back in February for Valentine’s Day. While I showed her incredible appreciation for a thoughtful gift, at first, I was a little bit underwhelmed.

This style was more rectangular and had rounded edges in comparison to other databanks that I had seen and typically those are what I would go for. This is my first and right now only Calculator watch.

Fast-forward to now, and I have thrown this into the rotation more and more often, and it’s becoming one of my go to pieces on a weekly basis. I’ve come to find out that this fits my personality and style much more than I had thought it would initially.

Altogether, I think it goes to show that my wife put a lot of thought into choosing this specific model because she felt it fit my personality and she was right on target.

This is a render but I have posted a irl prototype before in case anyone has doubts that it’s real. Should be releasing in Japan and maybe worldwide in August with the same module as the ABL-100!

So, recently I've been working on my watch's backlit and display unit.

Task 1. Increase the brightness and do something with the oem light diffuser.

Task 2. Make my display negative.

What's Done successfully so far -

1. Made a multi layered light diffuser

2. Increased the brightness (ofcourse it will costs my battery life).

Problem rn -

1. Messed up the glue (I guess I need to buy pre-applied polarizing film).

So, now my display has air bubbles 🫧

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me find a horizontal polarizing film with pre-applied adhesive in India (₹ INR).

Wanna hear from you. Do you think it worth the pain/risk?

My beloved Casio watch. The one I’ve been wearing for the last five months- I think the battery is dying. It’s ticking two seconds at a time. I’m sad. I love wearing my watch. I have other watches but they’re all locked away in a storage unit several hundred miles from me. I can’t get to them. I’m sad because I’ve worn a watch all my life and I’ve never been in such a horrible place where I can’t buy anything or afford to have the battery replaced. Walmart has several Casio watches on Clearance but I can’t even afford to look at them.
Our lives have been a nightmare this year.
