Hello - I have an RC aircraft with a 2200 mAh, 11.1V LiPo battery. I’m new to the RC aircraft world, and I will admit I have crashed my aircraft a few times. While repairing it this time around, I noticed the edge of one of the batteries seems to be protruding just barely more than the other one, and is almost glowing red? This is only an issue on the first battery, my second one seems to have no issues. Neither seem to be swelling. I am not certain if this is the battery I pulled from the aircraft after my most recent crash, but I know I have charged both recently.

Is this something to be concerned about?

Also, sorry for the quality in the pics related - They were taken using a long exposure mode on my phone to get a little exaggeration of the brightness, for ease of viewing. It’s slightly darker in real life.

For context, I salvage, recharge, test, and repurpose batteries from all sorts of electronics to either properly dispose of, or repurpose.

Usually if I get a cell with 2+ Ah capacity and ~20mR internal resistance I am FLOORED

This one cell has 3.25 Ah and an internal resistance of 44mR!

The controller was working fine. Just wanted to replace the shell. But I found this (pic). Already ordered a replacement battery (though the new one only has 1800mA, original 2050mA).

But I wanted to know, since the old one was still working: Would you still use it until it gives out? Or do you risk leakage by doing so?

I am at my wits end trying to find anything about this specific battery (AX 912 H). A google search yields no result, and i've tried going through old forums to no avail.

It's important that the battery has the exact same dimensions since it's slotted into the camera, instead of attaching externally. The third picture shows the old battery (grey on the left) next to a replacement battery for a SONY NP-F550.

If anyone can help find a replacement battery (that optionally has an integrated USB port for charging) i'd appreciate it immensely.

How can I connect them? I want safe charge and discharge capabilty out of the Lipo. Also can I connect the cell cable directly to the BMS cell port?

Trying to get this tool battery to charge/work I checked the pack voltage, 14.7v.

So assuming a bad cell I went in and checked each one, all ~3.75v. Thinking hmm this doesn't add up.

Then I noticed the little break in the metal, where the tab gets very thin. That creates a break in the system which I suppose isolates one of the cells from the pack and drops the voltage so it no longer charges/discharges. It seems like maybe it's a fuse, but I can't be sure. Pressing them back together makes the battery functional again.

So my questions are:

Should I repair this? I can solder those bits back together but is it a dangerous irresponsible bozo move?

If it is a fuse, what is the purpose? Has the battery been overvolted/overcharged? Or is it to break in case of a physical damage like a bad drop?

I just got a pair of these from an online retailer and the date on the back says 6-2022, I would assume this is the manufacture date.

Are these batteries still good and can hold maximum charge (after charginf) or has it been too long and maybe it has lost some health?

I just found this old electronic device I haven't used in years and while trying to fix it (it wasn't working) I couldn't help but notice that the battery seems... *off*.

it was like that the moment I took it out, no I didn't drop it nor I touched it with the screwdriver while opening the device, it's exactly how it was inside the device.

now the question: could this battery be broken/unsafe to use? if that's the case I'll just buy a new one somewhere, if it's okay I'll use it because money doesn't grow on trees (especially when you're 17 and don't have a job).

I was thinking of storing the batteries and chargers like these, outside, in a steel cabinet with closed doors, waterproof. Outside temperatures range from 0-95F, though that might be attenuated somewhat because the cabinet is about 2 ft from the house. Do you think this would be ok?

I have a Sony DCR-TRV285E PAL and the original NP-FM30 battery is dead. im looking for a replacement and found an SKPM NP QM91d battery. Is SKPM a reliable brand? I’ve also seen Kastar but its out of my budget and i cant find any wasabi batteries online. Has anyone used SKPM battery with any camera, would you recommend buying it. based in india.

Is there any way to dispose of this safely? Just tried to recharge my vape battery and failed. The ends of the black and red wire are stripped fyi.

I just opened up an over 10 years old digital hand watch to possibly repair it but the battery (with a sticker on) was a little metalic smelling and on the back of the side i removed was a circualr greenish residue - now srolling reddit im not sure if itss all alrite or did i just inhale fumes from a damaged coin battery from which ill get cancer - im making sure is this a thing?

losing my mind. Mechanic fitted this battery to my car , don’t know which cap to remove (it’s a very cheap battery) the company has no website but need to be able to vent the gasses as battery lives in the boot. any ideas on which cap to remove??(ik this is dumb but can’t afford to ruin this battery by poking a hole in it lol)
