Ive been doing bjj for 2 months now and it was fun at the start and it is sometimes now but like its boring.

Im 16 so i go to the adult classes but the thing is is I aint no big man im abt 5'6 150 and im the weakest in the gym so I get ragdolled by everybody and it stops getting fun after a while like I js do drills and wait until rolling is over then leave bc rolling sucks ass when I cant even do anything im js getting fucked up

searched through some older post and reached out to a few gyms (Odyssey is in fact closed open mat, confirming info on the post about a year ago) so turning to Reddit. any drop in/open mat for NoGi in Atlanta that runs on the weekends? my son and I are looking for a spot.

Whether for their reputation, lineage, skill, or just bragging rights, who would you choose if it could be anyone?

Reverse Closed Guard is one of my favorite positions for connecting modern leg lock entries, K Guard, 50/50 transitions, sweeps, and powerful submissions.

I was discussing techniques that "don't work" except when someone figures out how to make them work. I remember a guy who fought MMA back when (late oughts maybe?) who had a brutal head scissors submission that he finished belly down with just his head (or maybe head and a shoulder) touching the mat. He'd squeeze but also actually scissor his leg for the finish. It may have been Pride as I think I remember it being in a ring. Anyone know who I'm talking about and/or have a youtube link for one of those finishe?

as mentioned in the title, my club is currently offering 20% off private classes with professor. I will buy a couple (3 individual hours), but Im
not sure if I should spend more. Price is 64€ instead of 80, which is reasonable and I have quite a few topics I need help with. I can buy now and actually have lessons throughout the next season.

Im not expecting a miracle or whatever, but essential what I am asking is, is it worth to buy like 10 hours and have like 2 classes each month? I know you might say if you got money go for it, but its not cheap by any means for me, but at the same time if I spend 30 hours a month on this and cant figure it out on my own I guess its worth it?
I train 3-4x a week but I feel like in some aspects I just can’t figure out on my own.

25 year old newish blue belt here with a weird problem. over last year I have noticed more and more I am panicking when on bottom and breathing heavier than normal. I start to imagine suffocating and it’s like my panic brain takes over. I’ll do anything to get out of that position and pretty much give up.

if we start on bottom from beginning I am fine. but once I have picked up breathing it seems to kick in.

i think people in my gym are starting to notice and im very embarrassed. has anyone had this issue and how did you solve it? thank you

I wonder what are the personal ratios throughout different belts.

On average (lets say in the past several months)
- how often do you tap someone during sparring?
- how often do you get tapped
- how often does the time run out before any subs? (if you're using clock)

Would you consider training another art, like Judo or wrestling, for the sole purpose of BJJ, BJJ training, or would you no longer be considered, a "pure BJJ" guy, if that even exists anymore?

I'm thinking to learn the k-guard as far as I see there's some techniques like the shotgun armbar that I like also the concept fo the k guard seems effective not only for bjj but also mma

But as far as I know is a guard that full potential is used for leg locks submissions it would be worth investing on the I guard even if I'm not a leg locker type of fighter? I wanna know how much invest on it

I dont think I am the only one who got extremely better in no gi by training gi! How many of you guys have the same experience?

Hello, my son is entered in his first NoGi tournament with JJWL. We started competing recently (since April) and they've all been with Gi. This being his first NoGi tournament, my son wants to have a little fun with his rashguard and he loves Pokemon, so he wants to incorporate both. I don't see much information regarding rashbuards in the JJWL website. Would this be legal? He's a white belt.

Been watching Raphael mendes in the gi and Jason rau nogi . Wondering if ye guys have any other recommendations for outside passing. Thanks !
