meta Pls help europeans having birds on their banknotes :)

The European Central Bank is running a public poll to help choose the design of future euro banknotes, and several of the proposed themes feature birds.

I'd absolutely love to see birds on our €!

If you're from the EU and love birds (or even if you're from outside the EU but like the idea of euro banknotes featuring birds), please consider taking a couple of minutes to vote.

No registration is required, and the survey only takes about 3–4 minutes.

Thank you! 🐦

seeking advice/help Fledglings? What to do?

I was watering a window planter in my garden and all of a sudden two baby birds appeared. One jumped ship and took a 1.5m dive, I quickly scooped it up and put it back. Off it went again, and this time with its sibling. Now they’re in my garden under some bushes. Neither of them are fully feathered, but they have a good bit, here’s a picture of a relevant bird for reference.

Will they be okay? Or should I intervene? I’ve raised poultry from eggs so I’m up for the challenge, but don’t want to interfere with normalcy in nature. Thanks!

bird identification Feathers ID?

Location: Moscow, Russia. Photo is my own

Found near a body of water, so I'm guessing common tern, but I know nothing when it comes to ID by feathers. Would appreciate any input :)

So, I live in a block East of Milan, tonight the entire block is actively been kept awake by this little fella.

I went out because the sound was new and I feared it was an animal in distress, I did not intended to annoy the bird (although he certainly didn’t looked at me with sympathy)

I boiled the list down to two possible candidates (I don’t know much about birds, so a quick Gemini research helped) which are the Long-ear Owl and the Coquette.

The chirp is high pitched very rytmic, and due to the size I guess it’s a youngling calling for the parents.

Could someone help me confirm if my suspicions are true?

Location is Pittsburgh, PA. I know my other birds that come to the feeder, but I don't know these guys! I tried to google image search them, but it kept telling me about the bird feeder, haha. I like to give my visitors names and look forward to greeting them each day. Thanks for your help!

I picket it up to give it comfort, and as long as it wanted I would give it a chance so I placed it up from the floor so when it felt like it could it would fly away.

About 20 minutes it kept blinking with a shocking look on its face, I kept trying to make it comfortable and out of the direct sun.

Although when I had touched it before it did not react negatively, just keep looking and blinking its eye until I brought over some water at which point it flew off, it wasn’t the smoothest flight but it flew off.

First picture was seconds after I picked it up. Second picture was about 2 minutes after. But was at least 20 minutes before it flew off.

This made my day!!!

This guy visits me everyday, multiple times a day. He has figured out that I feed the fish and looks forward to taking full advantage of it! I don’t think he ever leaves the yard at this point. Never seen one of these guys so unafraid of a human, he will willingly come within 5 feet of me. I really need to get a good camera and learn how to use it, my phone just doesn’t do him justice.

This bird has been in our backyard since yesterday evening and seems unable to fly. Looking to learn if it's possibly injuried or just too young so we can take the right action.
