I was out for an evening walk with my camera and came across this barred owl being harried by a red-winged blackbird. I frequent this spot, but this is the first owl sighting I've had there!

This is NOT a nest photo. I laid on the beach for 30 minutes waiting for them to approach.

Fresh off the easel, an alla prima oil painting capturing five barn swallows perched together.
​This piece is part of my new series, "Wings and Shadows in Transylvania".

For this work, I deliberately chose to leave the "process" visible rather than chasing a clean, finished look. I left rough, unrefined brushstrokes, visible marks, and raw texture right on the canvas.

​Knowing how much precision birders usually look for, I'm curious how this rugged approach to five perching swallows sits with the community!

In the 1950s their numbers dropped to 30 wild individuals. However, there are now around 4000 of these geese.​

This is only the second time in history a lesser frigatebird has been spotted here! What an amazing bird. I'm glad it flew over me a few times and gave me a few cool shots :)

Wife was searching eBird to try and get me to go check out a hotspot on our trip, found this interesting comment on the green woodpecker

I’ve seen the male and female around for a few weeks but just recently got to see their babies!
I’m surprised how many there are, I mostly count eight, but there could be some hiding. Is it common for them to have that many? Or could these also be the neighborhood kids hanging out together

Have seen three Pelicans with hooks attached to them over the last three months, it's a popular fishing spot without proper places for disposing of them, really sad to see. Here is one with a Hook near the left ear area that I saw this morning.

It's my favorite time of the summer again when the black cherries have just ripened and the trees are crawling with these beauties!

I spotted him hovering overhead as we were waiting to go on a boat excursion. He was looking for small fish along the shoreline. Luckily I had my 150-600mm lens already on my camera and managed a few shots.
