Guys I have over 1000+ hours on the game and I genuinely am just not skilled enough to complete characters such as J&E, T. Eden, The Lost, etc… call it a skill issue and honestly it is. I love this game so much but I just can’t beat them and I fear I’ll have to come to terms with the fact I’ll never get dead god…

I fairly new to isaac. despite the fact i have around 100 hours on the game, i play from time to time and only fully started to really get into the game recently. I am posting this to partially boost my ego, as i am proud of this. (i dont have tainted lost yet, and im not planning to play him any time soon)

I Just bought repentance on ps5 (i only had afterbirth+), and since i bought It i couldn't get my achievements saved and every run after destroying a rock or something else i get the same 3 achievements.

I have almost completed afterbirth+ and i Hope there Is a way to fix this.

I remember commenting that I play pretty much only azazel and it got a ton of downvotes. So I was just wondering if azazel is like "frowned upon" or smth cuz he's easy

Quick disclaimer: I am not looking for tips about April Fools or whatever, I simply want to discuss the correctness of the wiki (and, possibly, the tips that very often appears here that say “simply get golden heart”)

Now, said that, the wiki says (the page is here if you want):

Pickups (coins/hearts/bombs/keys), unlike pedestal items, are not displayed incorrectly. Once a pickup is acquired, it is randomly changed to another.

Coins and Keys give hearts, bombs or keys. Bombs give hearts, coins or keys. Hearts give coins, bombs or keys.

According to this, EVERY time you pick something you will get something. The only way that you would not get something is that you have the maximum amount of the “real (disguised)” pickup you obtained. Most commonly, you are full health and you would get a red heart and thus get nothing. That means that, if you have <99 coins/bombs/key, have some space for non red heart and you also have some empty red heart container you should ALWAYS get something visible (either an heal or something else).

Now, this simply does not happen and either is false/outdated/my game is bugged. I would say that almost 80% of my coin pickup are useless*. They either: do nothing, farts or provide me some flies. I am 100% sure about it and I am 100% sure that I had space for any kind of pickup (I never pickup something until I either I’ve cleared the whole floor or I have health missing, that happens pretty often tbh). To double check I also tried to watch a couple of youtube videos about this challenge and they also have the same problem. Incidentally, this also affect how good is the “strategy” (I would hardly call it a strategy, but anyway) of “get a golden heart, receive an hit, collect all the coin to get more pickup and possibly other golden heart -> PROFIT” as most of the coins obtained by the golden heart are lost (usually with a fart…). This strategy is often cited here and on the wiki, leaving me under the impression that there should be something true behind it, otherwise I can’t explain why so many people suggest such an useless (and random) strategy that have no hope to works. So maybe it is related to some difference between versions, but I am 99% sure that when I originally played it (several years ago, at least 4) it was already as it is now (I restarted the game after several years to try the newest updates).

*before watching said videos I would have say that all the pickup had the option of being useless/fart, however I noticed from the online footage of the challenge that only coins have this behaviour. Since I didn’t really track wether it was exclusive to coin pickups or not it could very well that my initial impression was wrong and all the other works fine. I will leave this not just for completeness.

I just completed a victory lap and got to beast for the first time + found tainted Apollyon; However, I did not make any unlocks/achievements. Can i not unlock stuff in Victory Laps?

AFTER 960 HOURS I DID IT (no, i won’t do the other two files, i don’t hate myself THAT much).

A couple days ago all my achievements disappeared, all my progress is still there and I can still get new achievements but I cant get the old ones. Is there a way to fix it or get them back?

First dead god on iOS today. The controls will make you want to take Plan C. I did a good portion of it with a screen protector cracked to hell and falling apart. Try shards of glass cutting your fingers and wearing long acrylic nails for a fun and exciting extra challenge. Below are some glitches and workarounds for anyone else wanting to 100% this port cuz it sucks in some ways.

Daily runs can’t be started, option grayed out as if already attempted.

Workaround by [u/read2mehelenkeller](u/read2mehelenkeller): open game, make sure it signs into Game Center. Go to daily run page. Go back to main page. Tab out of game. Enable airplane mode. Open game and reopen daily runs page. Run should now be available. Tab out of game. Disable airplane mode. Reopen game and start daily run. Kind of inconsistent and can take a try or two but I was able to do it reliably enough to get all daily run achievements.

“Tab out” glitch: anything that tabs out of the game and makes another app take priority even for a second clears “single room only” effects. This includes cards or pills like Strength or Percs, holy mantle, etc…. Pausing the game will not clear effects but receiving a call or switching apps for a second will.

Workaround: none. Resist impulse to murder your friends after they call you in a curse room on a lost run.

“No modes”: D Infinity and modal activated items can’t switch from default mode. Can’t swap between two active items (backpack).

Workaround: none. Enjoy having 2 d1s in the item pool.

Tainted Forgotten “extra lives” glitch: if tainted forgotten dies with any extra life or revive item, the game will crash. Opening game and the continuing run will begin from last autosave (the last time you saved and quit or beginning of the floor, whichever is most recent)

Workaround: none but abusable in lots of ways. Allows you to reveal hidden items and reset or anything else benefitted by infinite resetting to last save. Does not seem to affect any other character.

Can’t drop pickups unless trinket is held

Workaround: none. I’ll include the way to drop pickups since it’s extremely unintuitive even when possible. If trinket is held, press and hold bottom left corner of touchscreen. Keep finger completely still so you don’t trigger movement d-pad. Pickups and trinkets drop after a sec.

Touch controls don’t respond because your fingertips are covered in Hot Cheeto dust

Workaround: make sure you accumulate additional dust and bacteria then lick them clean seductively and wink at a nearby stranger.

I’ll edit this post and update if I remember any more, people add in comments, or any new fixes are discovered.

Recently, I have not been able to complete a run without the game crashing to the desktop. I have verified the files in Steam, but I'm not sure if there is anything else I can try to fix this problem.

Ive looked up alot of tutorials but none of them are stuff i can replicate (easily) to steamdeck so if anyone actually knows how to do it i would greatly appreciate

Ipecac + caos + holy heart (which i got from a random boss) + moms knife (which i got in a shop caos is so busted) etc IT WAS SO BROKEN I THREE SHOTTED ISAAC holy i love this game

There was a planetarium that I REALLY wanted in but had no keys, I got every secret room, tinted rock, poop and fire for a key nothing. Then, a room happened to drop the mysterious candy trinket so I sat in a room for 30 minutes fating around till I spawned a poop with a key, it ended up being Uranus which I think was worth it

I see everyone with their alt path and tainted characters but I cant even get to hush let alone kill him
I know im going to be downvoted for this but idc, I'm trying to get help, and its not like ya'll werent bad too at one point
I may be tilting but still any tips that will prevent me from ripping my hair out will be appreciated
